I wouldn’t carry it to a black tie gala, but this contemporary clutch would certainly work for the evening functions on most social calendars. I think Coccinelle has certainly earned the money here. The leather is buttery soft, and the rectangular pleating is continued over to the back of the purse. I really like these pleats which are eye-catching and very original. By refusing to bow to trends Coccinelle’s ensured its Edith won’t fall out of favor any time soon.
In regular mode the Edith has enough space to work for an evening out, but it may struggle to transition from daytime use to after five. Thankfully this clutch is also convertible. Just unfold it and you’ll have twice the capacity to play with.
For me the only downside is the choice of colors. The conservative hues will easily work their way into your wardrobe, but they’re also downright boring. Such a contemporary purse deserves a few modern shades to match it.
