Antik Batik Ninon Tote Antik Batik's bags have always been a bit hit and miss for me. This Ninon tote strangely falls into both categories.

I can't ever recall beads looking as lovely as they do here. The golden beads pop against the bag's soft suede body, creating a striking abstract sunburst pattern. The combination of black and gold looks so rich, much richer than this tote's $508 price tag would suggest.

The front wowed me, so I'm disappointed to see the beading isn't continued on the back of the bag. While this isn't an exorbitantly expensive tote at $508, it's not so cheap that I'd expect this corner-cutting.

This is one of many glaring short cuts. There are enough interior pockets to satisfy, but as they're not trimmed with leather I worry about their longevity. There also aren't any protective feet on the Ninon's base, a real disappointment considering how quickly suede wears.

As far as the aesthetics go, this is one of Antik Batik's most impressive totes. But its appeal seems to stop at the surface. While it's not cheap, it's missing the finer things I expect at this price.
