Antik Batik’s new line of accessories is really impressing me. Its signature blend of casual bohemian style with ethnic influences is inspired. This Anka 1 bag totally lives up to my expectations.
The soft suede material is a deep, rich gray color that is versatile and chic. The delicate chain filigree overlay sparkles beautifully against it, and the raw, cobwebby design is intriguing. The contrast between the soft suede and hard metal make for a texturally fascinating three dimensional accessory.
The casual crescent hobo shape makes for a great everyday bag that will also work well into evening. The slim shoulder strap would ordinarily worry me, but the small size of the bag makes it seem reasonable. Because of the slouchy style and chain overlay, the Anka isn’t the kind of bag you want to fill to the top. It would make the chain design hang weirdly and weigh down the skinny strap. So, while this bag is beautiful, it’s not for women who want to carry everything they own with them at all times.
The $470 price tag is very reasonable for the designer market. It’s a little higher than that of the average Antik Batik bag, but the level of craftsmanship and detail makes it worthwhile.
