Phillip Lim is known for producing minimalist objects with subtle and discrete charms, and the Tally tote certainly won't disappoint his biggest fans. Although at 15" x 18.5", the bag is big enough to be used as an overnighter, its generous size doesn't keep it from fitting right in with the rest of Lim's sleek, pared-down desgns.

The bag is extremely convertible, with dual rolled leather handles large enough to wear over the shoulder, and an adjustable or removable shoulder strap, which could be slung across the body for days when you have packed it full. The flat, structured base gives a little shape to the roomy main compartment.

To be honest, the large size of the Tally works both for and against it. The size makes it large enough to be a fabulous bag for toting around more than the average amount of daily essentials and a great weekend bag for a super light packer. But, the size means that the bag is super slouchy, and not really able to stand up on its own, so to speak.

As with most of Lim's designs, the prize is in the details. The subtle stitch pattern on the sides adds a luxurious touch, and the black hardware plaques on the handles are just shiny enough to attract the attention of eagle-eyed aficionados. But don't worry; even if there's no showy nameplate, the sleek quality and attention to detail shine through, making the Tally tote an extremely covetable accessory.
