I have always questioned Stella McCartney’s accessory design sensibility, but I’m beginning to come around. The Falabella line, in particular, isn’t one of my favorites, but McCartney seems to have made some much-needed changes and the effects are fabulous.
The faux leather on this Falabella bag doesn’t exactly look real, but it doesn’t exactly need to. It’s a little too shiny and has a little too much give to be leather, but it holds the quilted design beautifully. Plus, you have the security of knowing that it’s totally animal friendly.
The shape of this bag is cooler than most of the other Falabellas, too. I like the way the chains accent the bottom and top edges of the bucket design. The silver and black combo is edgy and cool, but the design is really classic, so it all balances out. One of the best improvements I’ve seen in the new season of Falabellas is the thicker chain strap. It’s just more practical and substantial.
The $1,325 price tag seems a little high for what this bag is offering. It’s cool, but it’s not that cool.
