The MICHAEL line by Michael Kors has become one of my favorites over the past few seasons. It has managed to combine trendy wearability with affordability in a most ingenious way. This Sloan textured tote is a great everyday bag at a very reasonable price.
Frankly, though, while the Sloan is one of the more versatile designs in the MICHAEL line, it is not the most interesting, nor the most affordable. Regardless, the neutral brown leather is durable and has a great texture, and the warm color contrasts nicely with the smoothness and coolness of the silver hardware.
The design has a lovely tailored look, and the shaping has a feminine-tinged menswear design that’s perfect for the office. The clean, geometric hardware keeps the surface of the bag looking streamlined, even though it has quite a few organizational features. The side pockets are great for stowing your phone and keys and the flap front protected pocket is great for keeping your wallet and other frequently needed valuables.
At $400, the Sloan is well-priced, but not as well as some other bags in the line. Still, it’s timeless design makes it a pretty good buy.
