We’ve got our Gossip Girls and our Hollywood starlets, but modern celebrities just don’t seem to have the style of their vintage predecessors. So I’ve been thrilled to see Maxx New York looking to Hollywood icons of yesteryear for inspiration. I’m not sure whether this Hepburn satchel was named after Audrey or Katharine, but I know that I like it.
Honestly, the look doesn’t point to either of these famous actresses but it matters not. The soft suede body is lovely in this gentle plum purple shade, although I’m not as enthusiastic about it in chocolate. Mostly that hesitation comes from the way the material works with the handles and trim; the combination of black and brown just doesn’t pop in quite the same way. No matter which bag you choose you’ll probably love the golden ring accents on the front, which add some interest to the simple shape.
Either actress could make use of all the space inside this purse, which they could certainly use while on location. Such a generous space could easily get unwieldy, but large pockets in the front and back help to keep us organized. It’s probably a bit too large for its short handles, but Maxx New York does offer a much more convenient attachable shoulder strap. I’d still probably prefer something smaller as a day bag, although I could warm to it as a weekender or even a boho office bag.
Whatever you use it for, $220 is a very reasonable price when we’re getting so much space and style!
