It might have a demure name, but this Eliza bag from Max Azria’s BCBGeneration label is totally fierce.
Animal prints have always been a reliable way to inject some attitude into an accessory, but this one’s a bit different than those we typically see. The print is created from velvety soft flocking, which makes it a little more retro cool. I also appreciate the subtlety of the gentle variations which come when the flocking hits the light. It’s all one color, but its soft finish creates the illusion of various complementary shades.
The Eliza has the crescent shape typical of a hobo, but it’s much wider and more structured to make it more user friendly. The generously sized space is complemented by a collection of pockets, which are lined in more of that synthetic to help them go the distance.
I’m not sure how comfortable that chunky chain strap would feel on our shoulders, so I’m thrilled Max Azria offers a softer synthetic alternative. This strap is also much longer, so we can convert the Eliza to a cross-body bag for our busiest days.
At $98 this Eliza bag is well priced for a bag that’s as fabulous as it is functional.
