The past few Marni bags I’ve reviewed have been a little so-so, but this is one line that I always trust to come back. This woven bag has great modern style and high quality, traditional craftsmanship. It’s a little less hip than I’ve come to expect from Marni, but it’s also a little more grown up.
The woven pattern on this bag is extremely striking. It has a look that is simultaneously tribal and modern. The bold, high contrast pattern complements the slouchy design of the bag beautifully, and I love the braided leather strap with the subtle brown leather trim, although it’s a bit short and slim for my taste.
The beauty of this bag is its versatility. Its a low key sort of statement bag that’s going to work for a lot of women. Really, it could work with a multitude of styles from uptown posh to boho chic to downtown hipster. Plus, the giant size will accommodate most anything you might want to carry. But, honestly, while this bag is versatile and cool, I think that $2,330 is just too much to pay for it.
