Lanvin is the oldest couture house in Paris. Yes, older than Chanel. So, it has a lot of experience putting out clean-looking classics. I am so excited about its new Voyage luggage line that I might actually be drooling.
The leather on the Voyage rolling bag is super soft, but it’s also strong enough to handle the inevitable wear and tear of traveling. The large scale quilting is a luxurious touch, and the exposed silver zippers give it a hint of edginess.
I absolutely adore the shape of the Voyage. It’s not avant garde or anything. Actually, the style isn’t terribly divergent from your average rolling bag, but the small details make all the difference. The Voyage has a really subtle balance of structure and softness that makes it look really unique. The front pocket is just big enough to stow all the little items you’ll need frequently at the airport, so it’s practical as well as beautiful.
This kind of quality doesn’t come cheaply. But, honestly, $3,475 is extremely reasonable for designer luggage, especially considering the years of use you’ll get out of it.
