I’ve felt a little back and forth about Jimmy Choo this season. But this Catherine calf hair and leather satchel is a seriously posh way to add a little pop of drama to your daily wardrobe.
The Catherine combines textures and materials beautifully. The smoothness of the black leather contrasts with the furry appeal of the calf hair and adds a lot of complexity. The colors complement each other well. The black leather acts as sort of a frame for the animal print and really makes the pattern pop.
The Catherine is a fabulously sleek and minimal design. It’s a simple rectangle with very utilitarian front and side pockets. This keeps the look easy and upper crust, but ensures that there’s plenty of room for all your stuff. I love how wide the handles are, as well. I don’t usually think that any bag is worth over $1,000. But the Catherine is dramatic, simple, timeless, and practical, so I might be willing to pay a little extra. Is it worth $2,395, though? I’m just not sure. It’s beautiful, but it’s not exactly revolutionary.
