David King & Co. plays it safe with this traditionally designed doctor satchel.
There’s nothing wrong with classic design though when it’s done this well. The grained vacquetta cowhide leather is lovely, even if it’s a bit boring in conservative tan and black colors. Strangely I would have preferred a more minimalist approach, as the smattering of studs and large Western buckles are a bit jarring, but I can’t fault a label for attempting to stamp a bit of individuality on such a safe style.
At its heart though this, Doctor Satchel is a really smart bit of gear which exceeds our expectations. Zippered pockets at each side give us handy spaces for stashing the items we love to have on hand. The zippered top extends down the sides a bit, to make accessing the interior even easier. And while it’s sophisticated and slender, we don’t feel like we’re really compromising on storage space.
Add protective metal feet at the base to protect that precious vacquetta cowhide leather and you’ve got a bag which earns its $140 price tag.
