Burberry is a line of impeccable taste. Its stalwart conservative days are over, though, and the line’s designs are taking a much more fashion forward stance. This cracked leather wristlet is a great example of how it’s been able to combine its classic good looks with a more modern sensibility.
This pewter cracked leather is absolutely stunning. I love the way the texture enhances the metallic treatment on the leather. It gives it an organic, almost lizard-y appearance that is exotic but not overdone.
The simple shape of the wristlet lets the material take center stage. The sleek minimalist design is great for evening. Its petite and the convenient wrist strap makes it really comfortable to carry. The exposed zipper is a great design touch, and its front placement makes it really visible. Honestly, I think a top zipper is somewhat more practical, but the front zipper adds a lot to the edgy aesthetic.
At $425, I think this clutch is slightly overpriced, but it’s got such a cool look that it might be worth the high price tag if you happen to have a little extra spending money this month. Personally, I’ll be waiting for a sale.
