In this economy, I’m not sure how many people will be paying over $500 for a sporty tote to carry their gym clothes in. However, despite how casual and sporty this Bally Toothbaya handbag is, I can imagine many other uses for it that don’t involve toting work-out apparel.
The pair of red and white racing stripes that run down the front and back of the Toothbaya remind me of the signature L.A.M.B. style that usually includes some sort of stripe. I like the utter simplicity of this tote, though. It’s just a basic black leather bag, but the bold stripes add the right amount of pop to make it nicer than average.
The webbing material on the stripes creates the casual vibe of the Toothbaya. It’s really the only reason that this bag can be deemed sporty since the rest of the tote is crafted from soft and luxurious calfskin leather.
As I mentioned, the price might be high for many people in the market for an informal handbag, but it’s the kind of tote that could outlast its owner when treated nicely and will probably have multiple practical uses. The Bally Toothbaya’s roomy interior makes it perfect for toting books or office paperwork and would probably work well as an overnight tote.
