Proenza Schouler’s signature minimalist design sensibility has won them many fans. The PS line was long-awaited, and now that it’s out, people are snatching it up. This season’s PS11 bags are a fabulous addition to the line. This clutch, in particular, is a beautifully sleek way to add to your evening wardrobe.
The black leather on the PS11 has a really great, wide-grained texture. Honestly, it strikes me as a little out of keeping with its usual sleekness, but the design itself is very streamlined, so the texture of the material just adds a little flavor.
The shape of the PS11 is the perfect combo of complexity and simplicity. The overall shape is nothing new, a classic rectangular pouch. But the flap front with tooled edges and the strap closure are both interesting and unique. I love the way it’s used the multiple metals on the strap. They add just a smidgen of edginess.
$975 isn’t really exorbitant for a designer clutch, but it’s not exactly a steal, either. The style is great, but I might be waiting for a sale to snap the PS11 up.
