Once again, Jessica Simpson proves that a stylish handbag doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. With clever texture and pretty details, this Metropolitan satchel might not be designer quality but is a great choice for picky shoppers on a budget.

Synthetic leather can often be a negative on a bag and show its fake quality when not utilized well. While fake leather can only ever be fake leather, interesting textures, sheen, or other effects can help to minimize its sometimes lackluster appearance.

That's exactly how I feel about the Metropolitan's exterior. Without the large-scale but extremely subtle crocodile texture that covers the bag, this Jessica Simpson design could have been a miss. With the print, however, this satchel takes a turn for the better.
