Although I am rather fond of Hobo International's simple, clean lines, the brand does tend to be a tad safe sometimes. Unlike other labels who are constantly pushing the envelope with handbag fashion, Hobo International sticks with the basics plus a few modern details. However, they generally do it beautifully with only a few predictable exceptions.

This Rocklin Flapover Clutch kind of caught me by surprise since it seems a little out of the brand's typical style, but the look is quite unique and stunning. The company is going in a good direction with this look as with the recent and similarly detailed Solano Tote.

On the Rocklin, the carefully smocked leather gives the illusion of a relaxed silhouette but also adds a degree of visual appeal. It's a great blend of texture and a basic shape that keeps things simple and uncluttered yet interesting. 

Contrary to how it might look to some, the front flap is not the closure to this clutch. There is actually a zippered closure just inside the end of the flap-over that is accessed when the bag is extended. It makes it just a wee bit complicated to get in and out of the purse but could be a positive if your concern is pickpockets. The entry doesn't bother me, but there might be some who find it annoying.

There are some great autumn color options available for the Rocklin Flapover including this lovely shade of sage green. This leather clutch retails for $198.

Juicy Couture Pammy Tote | Signature Style Handbag in Terry Fabric

Just about everything on this Juicy Couture Pammy tote screams signature Juicy style. That's not necessarily a good thing, unless you happen to be a huge fan of the brand.

While many prefer Juicy's more sophisticated side, as seen on bags like the Small Bowler or the Madge, there is definitely a large number of shoppers who go ga-ga for totes such as the Pammy. On this particular version, what stands out as the most indicative of the label is the material.

I'm not sure if there's any other handbag brand who can pull off terry fabric quite like this. Either we're just used to seeing it on Juicy's products, or they've managed to combine it with other details to make it seem somehow appropriate. Whatever the answer, the fact remains that they've got the terry cloth purse market covered, however impractical the material may seem for a bag.

The other unmistakable detail that makes this hot pink martinique terry tote a Juicy Couture product is the oversized (dare I say it, overscale) signature logo and printed design on the front. As if that weren't enough, there's also a subtle leather patch displaying the letter "J" on the back of the bag.

I shouldn't be overly negative about the Pammy, though, because it is decently sized tote with fun details perfect for a casual, flirty outfit. If classic Juicy isn't your thing, you might consider one of their understated choices instead. However, if you love hot pink terry fabric with metallic details that can only belong to Juicy Couture, the Pammy tote was made for you.

Gustto Sophia Shoulder Bag | Colorful Slouchy Leather Everyday Purse

Gustto may not be the name on everyone's lips just yet, but the label's gorgeous accessories have all the right ingredients to turn heads.

The first thing you'll notice on this Sophia is that bold orange leather finish. If you're concerned about the versatility of such a shade, the Sophia may not be the bag for you. The yellow version is just as boisterous. Sage green is a little calmer, but it could never be called neutral.

The combination of fresh colors, soft textured leather, and a loose, structured design gives the Sophia a relaxed spirit. It's the kind of purse which seems determined to hold onto lazy summer days, even as we hurtle towards colder weather!

Of course that casual vibe means the Sophia's not going to work for every occasion, but the practical interior ensures we can carry it any time we want to. There's plenty of room inside for anything you could hope to tote, and enough pockets to ensure the space doesn't overwhelm.

As I've seen time and again from Gustto, these handles are meant to be carried. The soft leather straps look much more inviting than any hard rolled handles or metallic chains, and are bound to be more comfortable at the end of the day!

The Sophia is well priced for such a luxurious day bag at $695.

Juicy Couture Generation Y ‘From Juicy with Love’ Tote | Extra Large Hot Pink Canvas Bag

Juicy Couture never has a problem branding their products with large logos and phrases. You only have to look at the Baby Fluffy or Choose Juicy handbags to know that.

It's fairly blatant with no attempt to hide their marketing attempts, but there's always someone who digs the brand's signature style. I wouldn't call myself a Juicy fan, though there are a few exceptions like the Small Bowler that catch my interest. That being said, they've got their look down pat, and tons of women come running for flashy, catchphrase-covered bags just like this Generation Y From Juicy with Love tote.

It's nothing if not loud, and some might even call it gaudy. However, it's exactly what I expect from Juicy and just what some shoppers love about them. The screenprinted phrase "From Juicy, with Love" has a nice ring to it, I suppose. I'll at least give the brand some credit for their attempt to include correct punctuation.

As far as canvas totes go, however, there's not much to set this Generation Y bag apart from the rest besides its extra-large size. It's certainly a convenient accessory to have around for those days you need a handbag to throw extra stuff in like market purchases, beach items, or gym clothes.

I'm not sure if this tote is worthy of its $78 price tag, but you have to remember that you're paying extra for the Juicy logo plastered on it as well as the bag's slightly enormous size. If the price range isn't an issue, however, but you'd prefer something sturdier, logo-free, and (dare I say) cuter, you might want to check out The Sak's Pax Eco Canvas Tote instead.

Juicy Couture Crown Madge Satchel | Smocked Velour Handbag with Gold Hardware

I'm not sure if Juicy Couture intended this Crown Madge handbag to be in honor of pop queen Madonna, but one thing is for sure: royalty was on their mind when they created it. Although it's not ideal for the warm season ahead, the Madge would fit in perfectly with the upcoming fall season trend of luxurious, royal-inspired accessories.

The medallion on the front of the bag displays Juicy's signature crown logo in a somewhat surprisingly subtle way. Of course it's there for company branding, but it also seems like a slight nod to the queen-like style of the satchel.

Though it's a nice detail, to me the star of the show here is really the smocked velour fabric. Without that feature, the Crown Madge would just be an ordinary bag with a crown-shaped detail. Instead, the smocking adds a richness to it and makes it nearly impossible to not notice the Tudor-esque quality.

The other smart move on Juicy Couture's part is the addition of shiny gold-toned hardware to complete the style. What kind of royalty-like handbag would it be without a touch of gold? I could do without the slightly bulky buckled handle anchors, but it doesn't detract too much from the elegant look. This black smocked velour Crown Madge satchel is currently available for around $215.

Roberto Cavalli Freedom Amulet Handbag | Unique Velour Designer Purse with Gemstone Accents

Roberto Cavalli is one of those designers who loves to take risks. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't, but it's always exciting to see what he’s going to do next!

Overall the Amulet is one of those handbags that doesn't quite gel with me. The velour fabric is luxurious with its deep color options. The sexy soft fabric is embellished with subtle stripes, mimicking popular tiger and zebra prints without the flash. But then there are the silver sides, which don't seem to mesh at all. Looking at the purse side on, the elaborate leather patches have an almost medieval appearance with their colored gemstone studs. Both elements have their merits, but together they just don't seem to mesh. The leather accents seem too edgy for such a soft fabric center, and the combination of medieval influences and contemporary animal print is a little confusing.

Even the use of silver leather for the shoulder strap can't unify this purse's design. The double handle is banded at the center with a whip-stitched leather piece. It's a stylish look, but it's also one that doesn't seem to suit the rest of the bag. It's on the short side too, so over the shoulder toting is out of the question.

The exterior may leave me a little cold, but Roberto Cavalli hasn't done a bad job on the interior. There's nothing too out of the ordinary, but the zip and slip pockets are always welcome additions to keep purse clutter at bay. The animal print lining is also a fun modern touch.

This is one of those bags that's made to be noticed. I just can't guarantee that it will be for the right reasons!

Juicy Couture Freestyle | Large Ruched Leather Satchel

Every so often I come across a Juicy Couture handbag that surprises me. Though the brand generally calls to mind bright colors, lots of details, and printed crowns, they do have some grown-up styles that don't get nearly enough credit.

I'm sure that bags like the Freestyle aren't Juicy's most widely popular items like the Daydreamer and the Baby Fluffy, but this slouchy handbag has merits of its own that make it desirable for shoppers ... not the least of which that it isn't covered in shiny metallic printed logos.

The ruching around the bottom of the bag gives it a laid-back, slouchy look ideal for an everyday bag. The ruched effect is continued on the top half of the bag due to a clever belt that weaves around the exterior.

Don't think you'll get a Juicy handbag without at least one classic Juicy detail, though. The gold hardware on the handle anchors is engraved with the signature logo and crown, but the result is subtle and actually a nice addition to the style. The leather Freestyle satchel is moderately priced for an oversized handbag at just over $500.

Juicy Couture ‘The American Canvas’ Tote | Casual Screenprinted and Embroidered Canvas Crossbody

Oh, Juicy Couture, you always seem to hone in on the ideal designs and clinch the deal with your cleverly funky details. With styles like the classic Daydreamer bag and the free-spirited Baby Fluffy, Juicy appears to have their finger on the pulse of what handbag shoppers are looking for and then taking it to a new level.

For instance, the American Canvas Crossbody has just about every detail a summer bag should have but with its own unique personality. This Juicy tote is practical, versatile, and memorable with its signature touches.

The crossbody design is great for slinging the bag on and going. I think every woman should have at least two crossbody purses in their wardrobe: a cotton one for informal days of shorts and sandals and a soft leather one for taking things up a notch. This Juicy Couture canvas bag is perfect for the casual, sunny days ahead.

The fun screenprint of a tropical island definitely puts me in the mood for warmer weather. Of course, a simple print just isn't memorable enough for Juicy. This tote mixes the printed picture with embroidered details for a three-dimensional look. The text on the front reads "Juicy Couture Holiday", and on the side is a short note "Love, G & J."

Juicy Couture Classic Baby Fluffy | Espresso Brown Velour Satchel

Juicy Couture has a lot of velour bags. It is definitely their signature look. The popular soft handbags are usually detailed with their regal (and usually large) crest. Though the brand also offers tamer, more classic leather purses like the Flagship, it is the velvety-textured ones that are more well-known and the most easily recognizable.

Though most Juicy styles are all glam and glitz, the Baby Fluffy ranks near the top of the list for fussy and "girlified" bags for me. Maybe it's this particular combination of rich espresso-colored velour and gold accents that renders images of Paris Hilton in my mind. It practically screams young, girly, and maybe a little pampered. I'll admit, though, that along with the Daphne this is one of my favorite colors of the Juicy velour options. The deep brown is so rich and luxurious, and gold just seems like the natural choice to complement it.

The leather trim on the shoulder straps and exterior flap pockets is also in dark espresso and blends in nicely with the velour. The handles of the Baby Fluffy are attached with large gold rings connecting to the similarly toned chain links that run halfway up each side of the straps. The inside is lined with logo-printed material and includes two pockets. Another nice detail is the interior expansion belt that hooks on to the bottom of the bag to cinch it in and create additional gathers at the top. I'm not sure it's entirely practical, but it does give the satchel an appealing slouchy look.

This Juicy Couture bag comes in an array of options for color, material, hardware tone, and size. A search for the Baby Fluffy is sure to bring up a plethora of bags from which to choose. This small velour version of the satchel retails brand new for $178.

Juicy Couture Daphne Tassel | Dark Red Velour Satchel with Signature Logo

I'm not always a fan of logos and names branded onto handbags. With bags like the Choose Juicy tote, Juicy Couture is one of fashion's biggest offenders on this account. However, the popular brand has marked its territory along with almost every product they produce and created quite a following with their signature style.

Despite the superfluous logo, I find myself drawn to the Daphne Tassel handbag. The deep red velour looks so rich and is wonderfully complemented by the dark brown leather trim and embroidered logo. The bright yellow "gilded" color option that is also available is not my taste, but the dark blue is rather pretty and the heather gray option is nice, too. Some tones just don't work well on velour, but jewel shades are fabulous for the soft material. The dark wine-color on the Daphne is a great example.

Like all Juicy handbags, there are fun details that make this satchel unique to the brand. Hanging from one of the handle rings, you'll find a jeweled ribbon and a shiny, gold-toned tassel that coordinates with the rest of the Daphne's hardware. Next to the Juicy Couture logo, a red embroidered rose adds a touch of femininity.

The inside is lined in signature Juicy fabric. Fun phrases are stamped on the interior pockets to denote their uses. A zippered pocket perfect for holding cash and change urges the owner to "Shop!". A cell phone slip pocket poses the greeting "Hello?". I haven't found another brand that has tongue-in-cheek humor engraved on their bags. Only Juicy Couture pulls off funky details like that and remains firmly planted in the fashion world. The small Daphne Tassel Satchel retails for $195.
