Bulgari has gone back to the vault to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The Italian luxury brand has revived classic collections – the Doppio Tondo, Leoni, Collezione 1910, and Twist – but given them modern makeovers.

The Doppio Tondo line retains the distinctive double overlapped round metallic rings engraved with the double "Bulgari" logo. These double rings take inspiration from the infinite loop, reminding us of the classic styling the brand represents. The wine red and forest green shades are new though, the jewel tones ideal for the cooler weather ahead.

We see the double logo again in the Twist, although this time it's printed on a duo of medallions. This season the line has a more relaxed feel thanks to the drawstring closure.

The Leoni bags are also a little more casual this time around, with their rounded corners. The original handles and clasps have also been moved to the center of the purse for a bold new look.

The Collezione 1910 hearkens back to the year the first Bulgari store opened in Rome. The collection features the brand's original Art Nouveau style advertisement printed on leather, oiled linen, or cotton canvas. Calfskin trimmings and handles add a little luxury to the less decadent fabrics, while the leather receives a special treatment for everyday use.

The retro Bulgari bags aren't cheap, with the leather purses clocking in at a few thousand a piece, but the classic styles might be worth a splurge.

B. Makowsky is one of those rare designers who always seems to hit the mark. While his bags are never right for the red carpet or a glamorous night out, it’s hard to resist them when you're looking for a casual everyday purse. With Christmas just around the corner, it seems appropriate to think about a bag like the Eden shopper.

It's not as large as many shoppers, so it won't carry a lot of holiday shopping. But it would look cute paired with your casual mall attire, especially in this festive shade of lipstick red! If it's a little loud for your tastes, consider one of the five other color options. Stone and brandy are classic choices for the more reserved bagistas out there.

For me though, red is the real showstopper. The vibrant shade makes the silver hardware adorning the external pockets, belt, and shoulder straps really pop. The faux belt may make getting in and out of the bag a little fiddly, but I like the relaxed style it brings. Tying it loosely may make your goodies more accessible, or you could stash the essentials into the massive side pockets.

The $288 price tag represents great value for this classic B. Makowsky shopping bag.

Jessica Simpson's latest purse brings a touch of the natural to an everyday tote.

Huge fancy decorations are one thing, but those bags aren't always suitable for casual functional everyday-wear. What you really need for carrying your bits and pieces is a neutral purse with some sexy characteristics: pretty, yet useful all the way.

This tote is a great example, with some funky cut-out decoration but a practical and inoffensive look. Tan is great for coordinating with any outfit, whilst the traditional shape is easy to carry and even easier to fill. The drawstring closure is a nice touch, adding a little extra security and making the size of the bag a little more versatile.

It is a shame that a purse this useful and work-friendly isn't actually made form the soft slouchy leather that it deserves. Instead, we are given a soft yet fake synthetic, which means I am not sure what your $118 is going towards.

This tote with its cute and girly gingham (and slightly clashing) interior is a great purse for functionality and day-wear.

Big Buddha hits multiple bag trends with this new stylish Nolita Shoulder Bag. From the overall shape to the details, this purse has a handful of features going for it.

The Nolita is available in quite a few color options, but this rich purple is a great pop of color for the fall. It's my favorite of the bunch, although the bright blue and olive green should get an honorable mention as well for their vibrant tones.

I'd prefer if the material on this shoulder bag were genuine suede, but Big Buddha's manmade version is quite acceptable and much more palatable for the wallet since the Nolita only retails for $90. The faux material isn't overly noticeable, too, since the purse has a very slouchy silhouette with a drawstring top creating tons of gathers around the body.

The other trendy details on this Big Buddha design include the studs scattered throughout the front and on the sides of the handbag. As usual, it's a shame that the feature isn't included on the back of the bag, though this certainly wouldn't be the first brand to leave out that detail. Fun tassels hang from either side of the drawstring top and give the Nolita a nicely finished appearance.

It's got a little name, but the Mia tote from Hype is big, bright, and bold!

This larger than life handbag has enough space inside to hold everything you need, and enough style to impress. The finish is billed as crocodile-embossed leather, but nobody is going to believe this is a genuine exotic. The tiny irregular squares appear more like a mosaic than crocodile scales, but perhaps that's okay. This surface may not be a convincing croc, but it's got its own charm that goes beyond mere imitation.

The drawstring adds a casual air, but it's not a very effective closure. It's fiddly to use, and contorts the bag into an overly puckered shape. With a zippered closure providing security back-up, I wonder why the drawstring was included at all!

Zippered pockets in the front add aesthetic and practical appeal. They're deep enough for stashing everything you need at your fingertips. Another slip pocket in the rear provides even more storage space.

And that's before we even get inside. The deep north-south shape is large enough to carry the things we need to survive the day, while a zippered pocket and three multifunctional slips help keep the clutter at bay.

The rolled shoulder straps are probably long enough for most girls to sling over their shoulder, but the removable longer strap provides a little extra versatility. It converts the tote to a cross-body bag, perfect for your daily commute.

With 11 different colors available, there's literally one to suit everybody. Conservative tastes may gravitate towards black or smoke gray, while more daring divas may prefer tango orange or this Aztec blue.

Rampage is a typically affordable handbag brand but one that sometimes doesn't quite hit the mark for my personal taste. The pretty Michelle clutch is one of their styles that I can applaud, whereas the Amber tote is a bit too much like a circus tent for me.

That's why I was somewhat surprised to find this Hazel Hobo within a list of recent Rampage releases. Although I'm not sure what brands I might have placed it with, Rampage definitely would not have been one of them. There's a unique design sensibility to the Hazel that stands out as somehow both simple yet detailed.

Though certainly not the only color combination available, this light gray with brown is so appealing in its subtlety really allowing the details on the front to stand out. The quilted stitching on the synthetic leather is accentuated by the thin patent strips woven throughout. I was very disappointed to find that the interesting woven detail is not continued on the back of the hobo bag, but at least the quilting is repeated instead of having a plain back.

The opening of the purse closes with a magnetic snap, but there's also a functional drawstring that loops through the top of the hobo and allows you to cinch in the sides for either a little extra security or just a different shape. This Rampage Hazel bag retails for $98.

No one expects genuine exotics for under $100. But if you hope to enjoy the look at a budget friendly price, this python-like hobo from Chinese Laundry is a decent option.

The traditional slouchy hobo shape is jazzed up by the snakeskin print, which is embossed on the polyurethane body. This blue shade is a lovely evergreen option, ideal for pairing with denims at any time of the year. It's interesting that there are none of the blacks, whites, and browns we've come to expect, but gray and mustard should be tame enough to please conservative tastes.

This generously-sized purse is fitted out with a zippered pocket and a couple of multifunctional slips. One can take care of your cell phone, while another is large enough to suit an MP3 player or small digital camera.

The handle is quite long, so I'm not sure why we'd need the removable shoulder strap. It's especially confusing since the fabric finish clashes with the snakeskin body. I'd simply unclip it for a more unified look.

It often feels like if you've seen one Burberry plaid purse, you've seen them all. I start to long for something different. Then I see Burberry stray from that classic formula, and I yearn for those slightly boring bags!

The designs may not be revolutionary, but Burberry does the preppy plaid thing well. When the British label decides to be daring, it invariably falls apart. If you needed further proof, just look at this Haymarket Woven Warrior bag.

Woven leathers and drawstrings are the domain of casual purses. Glitzy metallic gold always looks ready for disco night. Combine these extremes and you might hope for a bag that's versatile enough to travel from day to night. But here the unexpected mix just results in a purse that doesn't readily suit any situation, or it's warrior name for that matter. Can woven fabric ever strike fear into the heart of any enemy?

The gold finish is just a little too brassy, and the trim too chunky. Drawstrings are always fiddly, especially when combined with a magnetic closure. The shoulder strap might be adjustable, but that matters little when the maximum drop is a measly six inches. I don't mind the interior, with its practical canvas lining and zippered pocket, but I'm clutching at straws.

I'm sure this shoulder bag will appeal to someone who likes their accessories large and loud, but personally I can think of much better ways to spend $1795.

I liked the look of the Botkier Marcel Clutch, but I'm loving the contemporary style even more on this larger satchel silhouette.

Take away the kiss-lock closure and folded sides and add in a few other details, and the Marcel satchel is basically a supersized version of the clutch. That could be a negative thing if the Marcel style didn't have so many great things going for it. However, everything I like about the clutch makes me like the satchel even more.

The unique woven metallic strips detail on the front is more prominent and eyecatching on this larger handbag. Although the satchel is also available in a shiny champagne color just like the clutch in the previous review, I'm more drawn to the look of the gold squares set off brilliantly by the black background of the main body. It's unfortunate that the stunning detail doesn't continue to the back of the purse as well.

Contemporary woven feature aside, the Marcel's structured handbag shape almost has a vintage-ish shape to it. Some might even prefer to classify it as a doctor bag rather than a satchel. The double handles are a nice length for comfortable carrying, and a fun tassel on the zipper adds some flair.

As expected, the price of the satchel runs a little higher than the clutch version. The difference is actually a few hundred dollars, but the size of this designer handbag and the unique look makes it worth the cost.

It's crafted from superior fabrics, yet this purse falls short for me. Honestly, it looks like the sort of kitschy design we'd see on a Bridget Jones Christmas sweater!

It's not all bad news though. I like the lack of obvious labeling, but that may disappoint die-hard Ralph Lauren fans. The leather trim of the interior zip pocket is stamped with RLFC, but that's the only bit of branding.

This Ralph Lauren snowflake bag is definitely not a purse for all seasons. While it could be a conversation starter at your next Christmas party, expect it to gather dust during the rest of the year.
