Francesco Biasia Ginger Straw Satchel | Colored Woven Straw Handbag

52 sec read

As the weather warms up straw handbags are becoming hot property. But I have to wonder how many girls will want to own this garish Ginger satchel from Francesco Biasia.

I admire the risks taken here, but I’m not convinced by the results. The brightly dyed straw might stand out in a sea of naturally toned fibers, but I think it catches the eye for all the wrong reasons. The complementary toned rope handles and mesh side pockets only adds to the feeling of overkill.

It’s a shame its looks are so outlandish, because at its heart the Ginger satchel is cleverly designed. The brightly colored lining is expandable, so you’ll have no problems adding a few fashion magazines and a bottle of water to your regular beach essentials. A drawstring and lobster claw hook makes the Ginger doubly secure.

Those perks almost made me consider the Ginger, but then I saw the price tag. $278 is steep for any handbag limited to only warm weather use, but it’s ludicrous for a bag made from straw and synthetic.
