I’m not sure this BCBG Max Azria satchel has quite the mystery that its name suggests, but there’s certainly a seductive quality about the Femme Fatale.
The satchel’s cool, clean lines are classic, but the deep curved seams give the Femme Fatale a contemporary twist. And then there is that lush croc-embossing, which gives the mocha brown leather an alluring richness. It’s that finish which makes me favor the brown bag; in black those scales are a little bit lost, which is a real shame.
BCBG Max Azria calls this a medium satchel, but I’m sure there’s enough space for stashing away most of our spy secrets and vital documents. I can’t imagine wanting any more room than this on a day-to-day basis, although pack rats might disagree! Those handles are a bit short for daily use, but thankfully we can attach the longer strap when we’re on the go.
There’s a lot to like here, but for me the clincher is the price. $298 is amazing value for a bag of such quality and style.
