B. Makowsky Oslo | Metal Trim Dome Satchel in Zebra Print

A framed satchel is always a stylish look. The structured shape is a great canvas for fun prints and accessories. B. Makowsky has combined these elements to create the Oslo Dome Satchel. The Oslo is available in solid-colored leather in hues like terracotta, olive, brandy, and smoke. However, the zebra option practically begs for a review.

The classic silhouette renders images of old Hollywood stars like Grace Kelly, but the vintage vibe is contrasted with the funky print and shiny metal accents. Though most of the Oslo handbags come in soft leather, the zebra is made from polyester faux calf hair. I'm not generally a fan of animal prints, and this isn't one of the best I've seen. However, at least it is somewhat subtle in brown and black and not as loud as typical black-and-white zebra print.

That being said, the animal-printed Oslo is not a traditional handbag. The silver rings that attach the leather handles to the large satchel and the silver metal plates on the corners give this B. Makowsky a decidedly modern flair. Decorative buckles running down each side add to the interesting details.

Zebra print fits a very specific taste and might not appeal to you. However, don't let it form your opinion of the Oslo. Be sure to look at all of the other color options before deciding what to think about this one. The maize and smoke colors, in particular, look stunning. The large Oslo Dome Satchel retails for $298.
