Antik Batik Friel Chain-Embellished Suede Bag | Decadent Glam Rock Black Suede Shoulder Bag

1 min read

Antik Batik is a newer line that is quickly making a name for itself. Started in 1992 by Gabriella Cortese, the line features ethnic inspired prints and designs. Sometimes these turn out looking really boho, and sometimes they come together in a fabulously rock-n-roll sort of way. This Friel bag could go either way, but I prefer to imagine it on the arm of a rock diva.

The black suede material is barely visible through the veil of chains hanging from the Friel. This bag is purposefully overembellished in a way that makes it eye-catching without going over the top. The delicate chain design affixed to the top of the bag almost looks embroidered, which gives the Friel a little hint of South Asian looking flair.

The small hobo shape is very well-sized. A bag with this many chains on it can’t be too big or it will become unwieldy and heavy. The Friel has just about enough space for your phone, PDA, wallet, and a small cosmetics case, but no room for a netbook or laptop. But who wants to shove work into such a  fun bag anyway?

The chain and leather strap is kind of an iffy touch. It’s a little bit trendy and modern to go with the bag perfectly, but it doesn’t stand out too much, so I’m not going to complain. Especially when the Friel is so well-priced. At $325, the price is amazingly low for the quality. I’ll take two please!
