Previously on this page BagBunch.com had a short post here about handcrafted snakeskin python clutches by Sang A, an Italian exotic designer.
The post had been republished from SheBreates.com as the owner of SheBreathes.com had released the content under this Creative Commons License.
BagBunch.com received the following rude email from the owner of SheBreathes.com asking us to remove the content:
"To whomever you are I would like all posts you have re- posted/altered/and republished on your website removed that are from my website SheBreathes.com. I want this done immediately or I will continue the steps necessary to report your violations to the proper people, like your host and advertisers. Despite the Creative Commons License on my blog I own the rights to all my posts and have the ultimate authority in how my copyrighted work gets used and I want your website to remove all my copyrighted material immediately"
When a content owner publishes content under a Creative Commons License they cannot legally revoke that license at their will and make threats against anyone who rightly republished it. It is equivalent to giving someone your iPod, only to then report them to the police for stealing.
Creative Commons was created to make usage rights clear and to encourage the sharing of information and entertainment. The actions of SheBreathes completely undermines this effort.
BagBunch has upmost respect for content owners rights and wishes over their content and we have therefore removed the content we published from SheBreathes.com without question. BagBunch urges the owner of SheBreathes to update her license to reflect her true intentions of her content and not make aggresive threats to publishers who are only correctly following the license terms of SheBreathes.com.
BagBunch encourages the sharing and republication of information on the web. With prior permission BagBunch is happy for most publishers to republish our content, although publishers MUST contact us first for permission.
