The leather trim makes this a much more sophisticated backpack than the ones we all used to lug to school. There's only a hint of the luxury skin, but a little goes a long way. It's complemented by the black ballistic nylon, which is every bit as tough as its name suggests.

The main compartment is so large that it should hold a laptop with a 15.4-inch screen. Two spacious pockets are perfect for stashing the peripherals including cords, mice, headphones, and other tech essentials. The Easy Access Organizer and transparent mesh pocket also make it easy to keep important items in order. Its generous dimensions may make it heavy if you fill it to the brim, but the adjustable shoulder straps should help ease the strain.

At $295 this is significantly more expensive than most backpacks on the market, particularly considering that the leather is used so sparingly. However it's worth noting that it is handcrafted. It's the attention to detail that comes from that old-fashioned method of manufacture that makes it worth splurging.

Surely such a casual creation couldn't come from such a buttoned up label!

Well yes it has, and not a moment too soon. While I'm not sure I warm to this tote's clashing color palette, there's a certain charm to the Stonebridge's relaxed vertical stripes and yellow leather trim. The design is fun and quirky, perfect for springtime picnics and lazy café brunches.

The large exterior pocket is just the start of the Stonebridge's functional features. The generously sized interior is packed with several open pockets for gadgets and a larger zippered pocket. The flat platform base is another perk, as it allows us to easily pack and unpack this purse once we set it down.

I'm not sure this is my favorite Etienne Aigner purse, but I always appreciate it when a fashion house steps outside its comfort zone and takes a risk. And when that risk is priced under the magic $100 mark, it's doubly appealing!

After seeing so many of the label's handbags covered in cutesy colored logos, this more minimalist design is like a breath of fresh air. The blue nylon body is bold and stylish, the ideal complement to the tote's tan leather handles and trim. I love the way the leather dresses this bag up, making it feel more board room appropriate.

I suppose Dooney & Bourke thinks editors should travel light, as you'll struggle to fit a laptop inside this tote. It's not small, but the zippered pocket running down the center of the bag does compromise storage space. Personally I feel this tote is too narrow for such a feature; it makes the tote a bit easier to organize but it also means we can't carry anything too bulky. This is really a tote made for carrying important documents and magazines rather than chunky wallets and novels. The slender strap is also a concern, as I imagine it'll cut into your shoulder when the tote is full.

These niggles aside though, this tote is reasonably priced at $175. That's still probably prohibitive for interns, but it's certainly not exorbitant for anyone on an editor's salary!

The natural toned chevron canvas is adorned with an art deco design and decorative script. The black pattern is accented by nut wrinkled calf leather trim. It really dresses up the tote, but it's not likely to be well received by animal lovers. Canvas bags are synonymous with green chic, but that design feature undermines the message.

It also sends the tote's price sky high. Even on eBay it's priced close to $800 big ones. For a canvas bag, that’s a whole chunk of change.

Thankfully it comes with more pockets than the average. An interior zip pocket, plus a couple of multifunction pouches do boost the value somewhat. And any purse so expensive deserves a dustbag, so it's nice to see one included here.

But the fact remains; this is one expensive canvas tote. Cashed up fashionistas may love to wear their Bulgari love over the shoulder while at the markets, but the rest of us can probably think of better uses for that much dough!
