This purse takes me right back to my childhood with its fanny pack style and lurid neon pink hue. The patent leather finish is probably far too bright to please anyone who isn't of my vintage, but the nostalgia factor should win it a few fans.

And I've got to say, I'm amongst them. Its small dimensions help it get away with its shamelessly retro appeal. Its practical design doesn't hurt any either. This purse is small but expandable, with an adjustable waist belt for maximum comfort. While we don't have a lot of storage space the interior zip pocket ensures we can keep what cargo we do have organized.

While the belt is a good gimmick, I wish it wasn't our only carrying option. If the belt were detachable we could have used it as a clutch, or even attached a wrist strap. The belt is probably what dates this purse the most, so it's unfortunate that we're stuck with it.

I'm not convinced that the Abbate will inspire a fanny pack resurgence, but at $122 it's an affordable way to remember the 80s. And it won't look quite as dated as your legwarmers or Hypercolor T-shirts!

This Prezzo purse is one for the sophisticated traveler, or the girl who's trying to be. Because honestly, I'm not sure a fanny pack can ever be dressed up, even in metal mesh! But it is a fun twist on the travel staple, and one that's much more compelling that those tired fabric versions.

The combination of white, gold, and silver diagonal stripes gives this purse a playful, retro feel, although I'm not so fond of the striped black version. The white one feels a bit tame, but classic beauties may warm to its more traditional finish.

This fanny pack is just as practical as the cheaper material ones. Its waist strap is fully adjustable, and there's a zippered pocket in the back to complement the relatively roomy interior.

Fanny packs have always been a secure way to carry coins and other small valuables, but they've never been very fashionable. I'm not sure whether Prezzo's managed to change the style's reputation here, but it's certainly improved it!

His accessories collection is particularly small, consisting of only a few bags, but he gets every last one of them spot on perfect. The Max shoulder bag is one I am particularly lusting over because, well, do you see how many freaking pockets it has? I love that. Plus, it gives the bag a tongue-in-cheeky sense of humor. Wang took something widely regarded as a major fashion mishap - the fanny pack - and made it the epitome of style. Of course, they were coming back, anyway, but Wang is really making a point of pushing the fanny pack to the forefront of fashion!

The buckle fastening shoulder strap is adjustable, so you can make it fit right in the nook of your waist, or if you're feeling nostalgic, you could even hang it on your hips for an oversized 80's look. Regardless of how you customize the Max, it's got "Fall IT bag" written all over it.
