While the accessories promise to be classic, they'll also have a contemporary edge which builds on the liquid clutch he created for his recent fall/winter line.

Kane told Vogue that the acclaimed purse reminded him of the pencil cases he used to own as a child.

"This made us think that we should build on that platform, and create that bag that is a great classic and can go from season to season," he explained.

Of course it's early days at this point. Right now Kane is toying with the idea, but it may take some time before we see the concept realized. However I've always felt that Christopher Kane's select accessories were the highlights of his fashion collections, so the thought of a complete handbag range makes me a bit excited.

However it remains to be seen whether Kane can sustain his brilliance across a complete accessories line. It's one thing to make a few choice pieces, and another to make several show stoppers.

Despite a recent interview where she claimed that she is really not "fashion obsessed" and is mostly given loads of designer handbags every month, some of which she would never even buy, Beyoncé still knows how to drop a few thousand on designer duds. She was recently spotted at the Harvey Nichols' flagship store in London buying quite a few expensive items.

Among the singer's purchases was a bejeweled clutch from the new Christopher Kane for Versus collection as well as Alexander Wang's popular Coco handbag and other designer shoes, jackets, jewelry, and even bikinis with the grand total amounting to over $33,000.

Whether Beyoncé was getting a head start on Christmas shopping or just stocking up for her European tour wardrobe is unclear. Either way, that's some serious spending!

On the heels of his capsule collection of rock-and-roll worthy bags, shoes, and jewelry for Versace's re-launch of their hip line Versus, the award-winning Kane is getting ready to release his fall collection for retail favorite Topshop. The preview for this much-anticipated line is sure to get shoppers even more excited for the items to hit the shelves.

The collection consists of mostly affordable apparel, shoes, and handbags. Though the edginess of the line is completely tame compared to Kane's Versus designs, there is still an abundance of studs and other metallic details mixed in with some ultra-feminine dresses.

Fashionistas, get ready for an edgy side of Versace because Kane's line of bags, shoes, and jewelry for Versus will be anything but ordinary. Think structured, studded, tasselled, and embellished with lots of metal. The handful of handbags that I've seen (like those pictured here) look like something that could withstand a nuclear disaster ... or at least a daily beating.

You can expect the price range of these new accessories to be somewhere between $800 to $2600. I'm not sure how this is particularly more affordable and "accessible to the streets" as Versus has been hailed, but the styles are definitely intriguing. However, I'll withhold my full opinion of the line until all has been revealed.

The British designer isn't new to the company, though. He has worked with Versace's Autelier Couture line and even consulted on some of their accessories making this new Versus collaboration right up his alley.

Kane was recently in the spotlight at London Fashion Week with his new autumn/winter collection. The up-and-coming designer has quite a celebrity following and has been showcased on several popular retail sites including Net-a-Porter.  

Look for more info about his Versace Versus bag and shoe collection at Milan Fashion Week, which is right around the corner. Evidently Kane's mentor Donatella Versace will be making the announcement herself. Now that's flattery indeed.
