Chloe's fall line has thus far disappointed me. But, perhaps it's due to my own expectations. I don't really associate Chloe with a neutral color palette or uptown styling, but that seems to be what the label's up to lately.

This opulent gold take on a classic look is very Blair Waldorf. It isn't even close to my style, but I think it's one of the most perfect ultra-preppy accessories I've seen in a long time.

The shape is feminine and refined, and the size is big enough to carry what you might need in a day, but still small enough to look dainty. The huge gold turnlock fastening adds the perfect amount of bling to the front of the bag, and the chain straps add to the delicate, sweet look.

This would be a great office bag for an uptown girl, or even a downtown girl who wants to add a touch of refinement to her wardrobe.

Chloe is usually one of my tip-top favorite lines. But, lately, I just haven't been blown away from what it has to offer. Maybe I'm missing something, but personally, I think its fall line of accessories is, well, missing something.

Bags like this are exactly what I'm talking about. Am I crazy, or does this bag have a scarf? Does it need a scarf? Does it even look good? I'm not so sure.

The bag itself is fine, I guess, but for $1,405, I want more than fine. The color is a little drab, and without the bow, the bag is just plain and not a little boring.

I do like the unusually-shaped hardware, though, that connects the straps to the bag. And I'm all for a minimal style; I just think this one takes minimal a little far.

Sometimes the season's fads are hard to wear. However, the ever-popular denim trend need not be one of them. Rather than wearing the cringe-worthy denim jacket and jeans combo, instead you can fling on this cute denim style bag from accessible designer Nine West. Indeed, you can even combine the "New Nudes" trend, with the delicate beige trim and pale adjustable strap.

The bag itself isn't actually denim, and this is where it really succeeds in being great. Rather than jumping on the jean bandwagon, Nine West have chosen a patent denim-lookalike fabric with just a hint of snakeskin. This gives you the worn and fashionable look, but means the purse will last more than a single season. Think of it as an investment for a number of trends, rather than one highly-specific item. Of course, it looks darn good with it, which always helps!

Now, I know what you are thinking, because once upon a time I would have thought it too. Cross-body shoulder bags just aren't "cool". We associate them with practicality but not looks, brains but not beauty. Even worse, they conjure associations of the much maligned fanny packs! Much has changed in the past few years, however, and now you can have the best of both worlds. This mini-tote is truly functional, yet very pretty. It won't hold your folders, but an iPhone, keys and makeup will fit in with room to spare.

A great bag through summer and even winter, this day purse is great for trend followers who don't like to take the look to extremes. Wear it with nude skyscraper heels and modest harem pants for a perfectly on trend look, or really draw out the blue with denim colored highlights throughout your outfit. Gorgeous!

The Bubble bag is the latest "It" handbag to come from the iconic fashion house of Versace. Halle Berry and Fergie have been snapped carrying the tamer nude and beige versions, but I prefer this vibrant orange purse. The shade accents the Bubble’s unique texture, and satisfies the current trend for all things 80s.

It’s that texture which gives the Bubble its name. The perforated leather is gathered and quilted, creating a cute squishy look which just begs to be touched. The texture continues through the handles, which are plaited for comfort and style. Signature rings on the sides of the bag mimic the tasseled zipper pull with their almost psychedelic concentric circles. There's a lot going on, which will probably alienate conservative tastes, but I believe that somehow it all works.

The generous interior is roomy without being overwhelming thanks to the abundance of pockets. Zip and slip pouches are on hand to store your personal technology, loose change, and other little essentials. They're all trimmed with leather to resist wear and tear for years to come.

It is lovely, but as with so many "It" bags the Bubble is out of the reach of many of us. With a retail value of $3440, eBay's the only option for most purse lovers!

I'll go ahead and admit straight off that this bag is not my style. I like edgy bizarre bags with quirky details. This bag has none of those things, and yet, I still appreciate it for its sleek, sophisticated styling and classic good looks.

The pouch shape of the purse is fabulously well thought out. It pinches in at the top for a tailored look, and I love the huge rectangular silver grommets that the straps thread through. The crinkly patent leather is the perfect backdrop for the silver details, and the contrast with the nude leather strap is fabulous.

The straps are my favorite part of the bag. The rectangular chain-links threaded with black leather are an edgy detail against the nude handles. I also usually can't stand large logo plates, but the enamel bow detail on this one is just too adorable.

I can see this bag really working as an every daybag for a girl with an office job and a secret wild side. The sleek shape will take you through the day, but the chunky silver details make it work for night as well.

Chloe is known for bringing us designs that are both trendsetting and classic. Their accessory line sets the standard, year after year, for what consumers want. In order to stay ahead of the pack, Chloe takes risks with their designs, combining unusual shapes, fabrics, and colors, to create vibrant and interesting new designs.

The thing about taking fashion risks is that sometimes they are unsuccessful. Combining brown leather and golden brown mesh chainmail probably seemed like a revolutionary idea in the design studio, but on the store shelf, it's kind of a flop. Honestly, when I look at this bag, I just think it looks ill-conceived and cheap, two things I do not usually associate with Chloe.

Maybe it's the chainmail that harkens back to all that mesh chainmail jewelry of the 80's that's doing it, but something about the Candy Clutch just screams "thrift store". And, if I did find it for 30 cents, I would probably be thrilled, but in real life, this baby has a retail price of $1,045.

I feel like the idea of this bag was to create a sort of edgy piece in a more conservative neutral tone. You know, for women who are almost ready to take a walk on the wild side, but not quite. The problem is that the combination of chainmail and brown leather looks cheap and unsophisticated. The rectangular shape of the bag is bland and does nothing to enhance its appeal. And then there's the little bow trim on the zipper. I don't even know where to begin about that, it just looks out of place and out of proportion.

So, while I will continue to look to Chloe for innovative design, this is not it.

I'm aware the credit crunch is upon us, so I'd like to fantasize about owning what I like to call "cute, clever clutches". A cute and clever clutch is just that - adorable and completely frivolous.

It's not the wisest handbag investment, but its clever design is appealing and very tempting.

First up is the Christian Louboutin Pliage Framed Clutch. This 7.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 pleated clutch is a lovely choice for an evening out. The nude-colored, slightly shimmery leather exterior is only upstaged by the clever high-heeled clasp closure (an obvious homage to Louboutin's mastery of shoe making).

Marc Jacobs Love Story Clutch

Next is the Marc Jacobs Love Story Clutch. Aaahhhh, doesn't the name just make you want to go out and hug your significant other, or, perhaps, buy a puppy? All kidding aside, this cute clutch is not for everyone. It's quite large measuring 12.5 x 7.5 x 2.5, and features metallic heart cutouts in varying sizes covering the front exterior. It's available in both white and silver, but the chalk white version is less kitschy.

The last bag, Alexander McQueen's Skull Clutch, is nothing we haven't seen before from McQueen. It boasts a rounded, structured frame, jeweled skull clasp and violet-hued iridescent finish. It measures 6.5 x 3.5 x 2 so it can only serve as an evening bag.

Christian Louboutin has a knack for creating ultra glamorous, and ultra girly accessories. In lesser hands this clutch purse could have looked childish and cheap. But instead this bow clutch has just enough girly charm to be fabulous. No wonder current It girl Kim Kardashian adores hers!

Kim's clutch is a neutral nude shade which is significantly tamer than the party girl herself. I'd have thought this wild blue leopard print purse would have been more her speed. It's also available in black, white, fuschia, red, candy apple green, and so many other shades that there's bound to be one to suit your favorite party dress.

The size is perfect for tucking underneath your arm or carrying in your hand, but its streamlined shape may force you to leave the luxuries at home. I'm so used to clutches with bare interiors, so the zippered pouch is a welcome change. It's ideal for storing loose change, and that hot phone number you don't want to lose!

At $910 retail, it's a lot more than I'd want to pay for an evening accessory. That doesn't stop me lusting after it though!

Okay, well, even though this designer is new on Bag Bunch, I am confident that he needs no introduction. And even if you don't know his name, you'd know his designs anywhere. That wooden-heeled patent peep toe that's been popular for years was his idea, and you would recognize the blood red soles of his shoes from a mile away. But, in case you didn't know, Christian Louboutin doesn't stop with the shoes. Lucky for us, he makes bags as well.

Known for his timeless, classic, and yet trendsetting touch, this Pliage Clutch is no exception. The color is so subtle, delicate, and nude that you could pair it with almost anything else, although I would prefer it stand alone in a sea of black and diamonds. The gentle scalloped pleating is a traditional and ladylike touch on a bag that is already feminine to the core.

I love the goldtone shoe clasp at the top. It is a quirky element that adds a subtle sense of humor to the bag, and is better than a logo any day. I also love that the shoes include the trademark red sole. How cheeky! And the red, satin-lined interior provides the perfect contrast when you peek inside.

At 8" x 4" x 2", this is not a clutch that is following the oversized trend. It is classic clutch sized, and honestly, on a big night out, it's all you need to carry your compact and keys. At $995 retail, it's a little expensive for a clutch, but pretty reasonable considering how much wear you could get out of it. And who wouldn't mind making this their signature event item?

I have always loved the combination of black and nude, especially when it's a soft blushy nude, especially when it's on a bag made of leather, and most especially when that bag is made by Chloe. When you combine it with the retro flair and everyday practicality of a shoulder bag like this one, I'm basically in love.

The contrast between the distressed black patent of the body of the bag and the smooth nude leather of the straps creates a sophisticated vibe on what would otherwise be a very rock-n-roll flavored accessory. The minimal pleating on the front pockets adds volume, and the rectangular shape with the smoothed-off edges gives the bag a retro look that is reminiscent of some of my favorite vintage 80's accessories. 

The combination of the dual straps with the removable shoulder straps gives you options for how to wear the bag. I can see it as a very feminine touch held by hand, or slung low over your shoulder for a more casual look. The 16" x 10" x 6" size makes it a great everyday bag that will hold not just the essentials, but also more than a few extras.

There isn't much I don't like about this Strappy Shoulder Bag by Chloe, including the adorable front pockets. The contrasting horizontal stripe across the bag allows them to blend in, and creates another interesting focal point on an already fabulous bag. At $665, it is a more than reasonable investment for a super-fashionable everyday bag.
