I normally throw my support behind any new eco-friendly bags, but I must admit that this Baggu line has me scratching my head.

The brand has taken its popular reusable shopper and added a president. I'm not quite sure who would want to carry a shopper with the screen printed face of Abraham Lincoln on it, but those patriotic history lovers are sure to be pleased.

Like all Baggu bags, this limited edition Lincoln shopper is made from ripstop nylon. This fabric is lightweight, and guaranteed not to tear when carrying cans and other groceries weighing up to 25 pounds. It big enough to hold the equivalent of two or three plastic bags, but folds up into a 5 x 5 inch pouch, so you can stash it away in your handbag or pocket. Supermarket spills are no problem, as this Baggu bag is machine washable.

At $12, this Baggu bag works out to be more expensive than the brand's typical multipacks. But it is a little more fun than the traditional single-color options.

Analeena may not be a household name just yet, but the French brand is generating massive industry buzz.

The collection received rave reviews at last year's London Fashion Week. Harrods responded to the demand and became the label's exclusive UK retailer. After making its debut, the entire collection sold out in just two weeks.

I've got to tell you, the public's enthusiasm isn't because the bags are cheap. The luxurious python and crocodile skin finishes see Analeena purses priced between 2,000 and 10,000 Euros. That's an amazing amount for a lesser-known name, but Analeena bags have a few features which encourage bagistas to splurge. While most exotic bags are heavy, Analeena purses are surprisingly lightweight. The handbags also come in a fun range of colors, matched by the brand's signature pink lambskin lining.

It's surprising to see such an expensive brand take off in the midst of a financial crisis. Its ability to defy the global trends means Analeena's definitely a name to watch.

Many of Nahui Ollin’s cute candy wrapper purses are for girls who travel light. This Barhandle Satchel shows the eco-friendly designer is just as skilled at working on a larger scale.

Larger is a relative term though. Packrats shouldn't pick this up expecting a substitute for their well-worn oversized carryall. It's a medium-sized satchel, but one that probably holds a little less than the average. The woven candy wrappers are surprisingly strong, but you don't want to test them by overstuffing. Besides, with no pockets to keep the interior organized, extra luxuries will only create clutter.

Like any Nahui Ollin, the greatest drawcard is that adorable candy wrapper finish which makes each one a true original. This floral print is perfect for girls craving spring, while the barcode pattern has a chic monochrome look. The straight leather straps give the Barhandle its name. They look so striking, but they mean you will have to carry this satchel by hand. Thankfully the candy-wrapper fabric is more lightweight than leather or PVC.

The Barhandle has its limitations, but green girls looking to upsize their Nahui Ollin collection will probably find a way to work around them!

It's all about downtown glamour with the Anne Klein New York Greenwich Satchel.

It's made from nylon, which is both long-lasting and lightweight. It also keeps this satchel down to a perfectly reasonable $275. This fabric rarely looks luxurious, but it's jazzed up here with vertical quilting and sexy patent leather trim. The silver chain zipper pull adds edge, working with Anne Klein's familiar lion medallion to toughen up the fabric finish.

This satchel is so large, it could easily work as an office bag or travel tote. There's so much room inside, and the soft walls make it easy to overstuff. Plenty of pockets inside and out make it easy to keep your girly goods safe and organized.

The only thing that makes me hesitate are those shoulder straps. While the heavy metal links mimics the chain on the front perfectly, it can't be comfortable to carry. They say beauty is pain, but for an everyday bag like this I'd rather put practicality first.

When it comes to Global Elements, you never know quite what you're going to get. The label loves to frock up, but it can just as easily keep things casual with bags like this cute Beaded Flower Tote.

While its name suggests springtime blooms, there's just one beaded flower on the bag. Instead, the design is dominated with large leaves. One big leaf appears like a flame leaping across the bag. Just like the flower, it gets its color from thousands of tiny little beads. The other leaves are much subtler, their white beaded outlines providing a silhouette against the black backdrop. This tote has a busy look, with beaded tassels and colored handles completing the vibrant design.

The brightly colored lining matches the handles and flowers. This is a medium sized tote, so it should fit the things you need without tempting you to take extras. That may disappoint fans of the oversized fad, but it's also refreshing not to be weighed down. The lightweight fabric helps that, as do the long shoulder straps. My only criticism is the tie closure. It might be whimsical with its tasseled end, but it's not as secure as a zip or magnetic snap. It's also bound to become annoying before long.

It's not red carpet ready, but at $80 this Global Elements bag is a fun accessory for everyday outings.

We already knew oversized handbags are an ergonomic nightmare which put us at risk of identity theft, but now it seems there are a few more reasons to ditch our large totes. A study by insurance company Sheilas' Wheels shows that enormous bags pose a serious threat to female motorists.

Women favoring the huge handbags spend an average of 416 hours of their lives rummaging for “buried” car keys. While it's astounding, it probably seems like little more than an inconvenience. But when you consider the safety risk this behavior poses, the situation becomes a little serious.

A third of the women surveyed said they felt anxious about finding their keys when traveling alone or late at night. 12% of women were victims of bag snatching crimes, while 28% felt they were being followed when returning to their vehicles.

"Two of the most important things a woman can do to improve her safety is to stay aware of her surroundings and to avoid potentially dangerous situations," explained Jenny Fawson, director of personal safety at the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.

"If you are distracted from your surroundings because you are chatting on your mobile, listening to an MP3 player or rummaging about in your bag for keys, you will be less likely to see danger approaching and therefore less likely to be able to avoid it."

It's also an idea to stash keys safely in your bag's zippered pocket or external pouches, or ditch the big bags altogether when flying solo.

Samsonite's designer collaborations are coming thick and fast. Months after announcing its Black Label collection with Viktor & Rolf, the luxury luggage brand has announced its latest collaboration with McLaren.

It might seem an unlikely pairing, but it's not the first time we've seen sports car inspired bags. Last month we saw Ralph Lauren launch the Scuderia collection, a range inspired by Ferrari's race cars. Perhaps fast cars are replacing model muses in the world of fashion?

At any rate, these luxurious travel bags are a worthy edition to Samsonite's Black Label collection. They feature the lightweight and durable design the label is famous for, and sports car features that go beyond the aesthetics. The race car style wheel suspension is sure to please jetsetters sick of struggling through airport terminals. It will also help to cushion your valuable vacation essentials.

Members of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team have already been spotted carrying prototypes as they travel to races around the world, but the rest of us will have to wait until next spring to see them in stores.

Miniature bowlers are a strange breed. Featuring the classic bowling bag shape and traditional design, these little versions offer a lightweight day-to-day alternative. This patent bowler example from design legend Oscar De La Renta is a prime example of a mini bag that should be big!

Essentially this is a classy timeless bag that should last forever - destined to one day be called vintage! As with all investment pieces, don't expect current trends, or even much space!

When you hear the phrase luxury luggage, I'm guessing that visions of Louis Vuitton cases flash through your mind. I guess all of this accomplishes Henk's mission to "fulfil the dreams and desires of those who find space, money and time to enjoy the beautiful things in life."

The options are practically endless for customizing your own suitcase. Besides choosing between things like glossy carbon fibre or ostrich-embossed calfskin for the outside, you can also personalize your Henk by adding a name, monogram, or even logo to the design. I guess that's the benefit of each one being made by hand to your specifications. Talk about luxury!

It's a completely different style from other designer luggage like Louis Vuitton or Tom Ford's traditional alligator set but something that I'm sure will intrigue many a wealthy business man or woman with high demands, contemporary taste, and few grand to spend.
