A starring role in the Twilight movie made Stitch & Swash bags an overnight sensation. Seattle designer Angie Bowlds has been inundated with orders since Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, carried a Stitch & Swash tote in the cult vampire film.

"It's an everyday bag that's easy to throw things in. [Bella] didn't have to fumble with a zipper or a flap," Ms. Bowlds explained.

Inspired by vintage illustrations and plant patterns, Ms. Bowlds creates all the screen prints featured on her Stitch & Swash handmade leather bags. This fall, Stitch & Swash fans can look forward to black leather bags, in addition to the label's typical earth tones. With this monochrome color expect some vivid screen prints in lime, aqua, and persimmon.

Prices start from $10 for a card case. Larger totes and satchels range from $175 to $225. If you want a Bella bag, I'd advise you to put your order in soon. The waiting list is already five weeks, but expect that to blow out when the bag is seen again in New Moon.

This Verbella tote from Bally is just the thing for adding a dose of vintage sass to your wardrobe.

The front features a retro Bernard Villemot illustration of two sexy girls with knowing smiles and longer than long legs! It's reminiscent of the kind of art we'd expect to see in pre-war Parisian ads: saucy and oh so chic. The purple fabric contrasts with polished black patent belts, straps, and trim. If you prefer a more unified look, you can pick up the Verbella in classic black.

But a tote is about more than just good looks. Bally delivers some of the practical touches we've come to expect, from the hard-wearing jacquard lining to all that luxurious space. I only wish the brand had considered security. There's no closure, and not even a zippered pocket to hide away valuables. I'm also not sure about those straps. The patent leather is attractive, but they're just so short and skinny. I'm not sure whether they'd ever snap, but they are bound to dig into your palms when the tote's loaded up.

You may not use it for carrying the crown jewels, or want to carry it all day, but the Bally Verbella is a quirky solution for toting your everyday items.

I've just been introduced to the work of Finnish fashion illustrator Laura Laine, and I must say I'm impressed. This is just one of the amazing pieces featured in the latest issue of Italian art fashion magazine Muse.

You might have seen Laura's work before in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger and Escada, and editorials for Elle Girl and the New York Times. In a world dominated by computer graphics, it's refreshing to see an artist shunning technology for simple pencil drawings. Who needs high-tech wizardry when you can create works of such beauty without it?

I love the way Laura's whimsical illustrations meld seamlessly with the slick product shots. Who would have thought a glossy metallic clutch could be a mirror? Who needs A-List models with a cute silhouette like this? This black beauty is probably a lot cheaper than Kate Moss, and a lot less temperamental than Naomi Campbell!

She's one of the faces of Louis Vuitton's spring 2009 accessories advertisements. The commercials are the brainchild of New Zealand born illustrator James Dignan. Australians may have seen his handiwork in Sydney fashion mags, but now he's moving up in the world with this global campaign.

These cute ads were overseen by Louis Vuitton's creative director Christian Reuilly and artistic director Camille George. They're daringly different, and I think the gamble pays off. The illustrations have a really fun, modern energy about them. And without a big name model to distract us, this casual Louis Vuitton satchel takes center stage where it belongs.

This is one of five new Louis Vuitton advertisements, which also feature the fashion house's sunglasses and strappy sandals.

Tanya Ling is turning heads with her recent collaboration with Louis Vuitton. The London-based artist has produced the prints for the fashion house's 2009 Cruise Collection.

Fashion illustrators tend to fade into the background, creating beautiful pieces for the magazines and ad campaigns without any real recognition. But not Tanya. Her elegant watercolor designs in pretty pastel shades have forced the public to sit up and take notice.

The dizzy glare of the spotlight is a world away from Tanya's birthplace of Calcutta. She was raised in Africa and America before moving to London where she studied Fashion Design and Textiles at Central Saint Martins. She kicked off her career as a designer before discovering her passion for illustration.

Tanya became firmly entrenched in the psyche of the fashion world after working with Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Jil Sander, Harrods, Diane von Furstenberg and Loewe.

Her current collaboration with Louis Vuitton is not the first time she's worked with the famed fashion house. In 2003 she produced the illustrations for its second jewelry collection. Clearly Marc Jacobs and co. liked what they saw, as they invited her back for another high profile line. Looking at these beautiful artworks, I can't say I blame them!

Here's a high-priced, kitschy bag for the upcoming holiday season. It's an over indulgent handbag from Louis Vuitton.

Priced just shy of $2000, the Galliera Riviera, named after the French Riviera (how snobbishly appropriate), is a canvas hobo-style bag that features a rather vibrant illustration of the famed French resort locale, an adjustable leather shoulder strap and an open top with magnetic closure.

A plus for this special collection design is the large 20 x 13.5 x 8 size, yet its' generous dimensions cannot make up for what amounts to a very pricey, one-trick-pony of a bag. Still, if you collect LV and have the extra cash to spend, I suppose it'll make a rather cute, attention-grabbing day bag. Just restrict its' use to a cruise ship or the French Riviera itself.
