Moschino Vernice Luce Tote | Luxury Designer Patent Shoulder Bga

Posted on: Nov 19

When you can get $4k off a bag in a sale, and it can still cost over $3k, you know that you have a really expensive bag. No surprise then that this sophisticated, yet understated, patent purse is from handbag icon, Moschino.

If you are a designer handbag addict who loves having a good name and reputation on her arm, then Moschino may well be the most dreamworthy name on your lips. Owning a bag like this is narrowed to only a few people with limited production lines, so you know that you have that exclusivity and are unlikely to bump into anyone wearing the same one.

The Vernice Luce shoulder bag is a great and smart day-to-day bag, perfect for office work as well as carrying folders and business plans. Equally, the patent leather dresses it up for nightfall, as does the cute heart clasp. You also pay for luxury, and this unusual shade will allow you to stand out from the crowd with the rich glossy color.

Of course, all these upsides are very well and good, but nothing other than the name is going to make a bag this expensive. Sure the leather is gorgeous and the satchel-esque doctors bag shape divine, but you could find this in another cheaper designer brand. This is a status symbol, even if the handles are a little too short, and as such should be treated accordingly!

  • Duel handles with gathered attachment
  • Heart twist lock clasp
  • Patent leather
  • Compartment in the interior

Bottega Veneta Cushion Bag | Unique Black Leather Mosaico Cervo Handbag

Posted on: Nov 18

I've seen so many woven handbags from Bottega Veneta that they're almost starting to get boring. So I was excited to see this very different looking purse from the Italian fashion house.

It's not just a new look for Bottega Veneta. The Cushion Bag looks like no bag I've ever seen more, and when you see as many handbags as I do that's really saying something. There are many different Cushion Bag styles in Bottega Veneta's catalog, but the one that's really won my heart is the Mosaico Cervo. The name comes from the embroidered leather finish which looks like tiny mosaic tiles. The tiles sit close together on the sides of the bag, before becoming scattered haphazardly along the top. The texture makes it hard to look away, so don't be surprised if you turn a few heads carrying this baby.

The bag opens with two zips positioned between the rolled shoulder straps. I wish the zipper didn't extend quite so far, as it interrupts the purse's sexy curves, but it does mean you can open the cushion bag wide. A leather trimmed zipper pocket and an open pouch help keep your girly goods in order.

Bottega Veneta purses never come cheap, and this stunning cushion bag is no exception. At $4,380, this is one expensive piece of arm candy, but that shouldn't come as any surprise to those who worship at the Bottega Veneta alter.

More Features of This Bottega Veneta Mosaico Cervo Bag

  • Suede lined interior
  • Dual rolled handles with a 6.5 inch drop
  • Measures 17 inch diameter and 4 inches tall

Rubik's Cube Handbag

The popularity of the Rubik's Cube has endured for decades. Many variations and sizes of the puzzle have been produced over the years and now you can show your love for the boxy classic with this purse. The colors are young and fun if you're looking for something spunky to spice up a simple outfit or to make a statement with accessories.

Batwing Bag

Rubber bat wings have never been as functional or attractive as they are when crafted into a purse. Especially with the super hero fever that has hit our culture recently, this accessory would be a great addition to any fan's collection. Classic black will allow wear for many occasions and it's also perfect for Halloween, to conceal all those candies with.

The $52k Bag

This Louis Vuitton Tribute bag is made in France and is a patchwork mess of 14 Louis Vuitton bags. Louis Vuitton has definitely made a mark on the fashion industry, and many LV bags remain classics to this day. Somehow I don't imagine it to be the case with this one, despite the hype. Only 24 were made and Beyonce Knowles is one of the lucky owners of this $52,000 purse.

Undergarments Exposed

Many people like to keep their undergarments concealed under clothing, but others are proud to show them off. This bag celebrates the latter. These were in about seven years ago, no joke. They are stiff, have small entry zippers and only get so unique. Corsets are still in, but it will be up to you whether or not carrying this around town is an option.

A Bag Against Breast Cancer

Handbags made from bras are popular and are generally made and sold as a way to promote the fight against breast cancer and promote awareness. These are fairly simple to construct and make a positive statement. Although you may not carry it around on a daily basis due to the size and functionality, the cause is close to all of our hearts, so you should take the chance to fight it however you can.

Skunk Fur by Fendi

Although the skunk is not the best loved animal anywhere, we're sure PETA still doesn't appreciate this Fendi skunk fur purse. Does anyone know if skunk fur is soft though? Getting too close to one anywhere else would be a hazard. With such detail, this bag may be too much for some to handle. Decorated with the fur of a skunk, many would say this bag really stinks.

Chinese Take Out Bag

Love Chinese take out? This is the handbag for you. The design is clever and creative, to say the least. The use of materials to craft a small purse into the likeness of a take-out box speaks for itself. Just be sure to keep things straight; you wouldn't want anyone to dump noodles into your purse, unless you don't have anything else to pack your leftovers in.

Chicken Feet

Everyone loves a bag with form and function; classic structure mated with a creative twist make this accessory quite unique. We're sure this handbag is sure to get second looks. To protect the bottom of the bag from scuffs, it actually has feet. And not just any feet either; they are chicken feet. It looks like it's about to run away!

Toad Bag

This strange looking bag looks like an oversized toad. What's not to love? Plenty. Wait a second, you're right; it is an oversized toad. We don't have to get into all the issues you may come across carrying this beaut, like nausea and ugly looks, but one has to wonder how much actually fits inside of the bag. If nothing else, it can function as a glorified cell phone case.

A Swinging Dead Cat Bag

The design of this dead cat bag may not be a favorite for cat lovers, but it's definitely an attention getter. It doesn't look easy to carry, with an inflexible bar as the handle. It also seems relatively small, which wouldn't allow for many goodies, despite how inconveniently wide the purse is. How does it open? We hope it doesn't follow anatomy.

Peacekeeper Bag

Live in a rough neighborhood? This purse has a brass knuckle handle that shows thugs you're not to be messed with. But really, most reasonably sized purses can function as a decent whacker. We think this is more of a statement of attitude than statement of actual functionality. Although, it looks like the handle is removable, so you can get down to business if need be.

Russian Doll Handbag

This absolutely precious handbag is made from the outermost Russian nesting doll. It's unusual and completely irresistible. It would be a great little accessory for a night out on the town, and the classic colors allow for easy matching with many outfits. A wonderful plus is that it appears able to hold more than just a tube of lipstick, maybe ID, your cell, and some cash, which is something we all look for in a formal handbag.

Hello Kitty Commemorates 35th Anniversary with Judith Leiber Bag Collection

Posted on: Nov 8

It's amazing to me how long a fashion cartoon kitten has captured the hearts of kids and adults alike. Albeit a little surprising, Sanrio's Hello Kitty character is celebrating 35 years of offering shoppers its kitschy, cute products with no signs of slowing down any time soon.

In addition to crystal-studded music players and jewelry, one of the limited edition collaboration collections created to commemorate the anniversary event is a handbag collection from bling-tastic designer Judith Leiber. The line is exactly what I'd expect from Leiber ... just with Hello Kitty on the front. Actually, the shimmering, crystal-covered quirky combination is just up the designer's alley considering some of her previous designs.

These minaudiere-style bags don't seem to be intended for Hello Kitty's young fans, however. The glitzy hobo-style purse shown above is set to be priced at nearly $4,000. In my opinion, you have to be a major fan of the brand, as well as Judith Leiber's signature look, to shell out that kind of cash. On the other hand, these limited edition products will be collector's items.

Betsey Johnson Locked In Large Hobo | Leather Handbag with Studs and Heart Padlock Detail

Posted on: Nov 6

Even the simplest of handbag styles from Betsey Johnson is bound to have a quirky design feature somewhere on its exterior. I'd actually be shocked to see one without some sort of unexpected twist.

Enter the heart padlock detail on the front of the Locked In hobo. This otherwise relatively normal-looking purse is taken to a new level with an oversized and whimsical heart-shaped pendant hanging from the top flap closure. I'm not entirely certain if it is supposed to signify things being locked inside the handbag or keeping others from accessing what you've got, but either way the funky feature adds personality to the bag.

The Locked In collection is also available in a clutch, wallet, or satchel, but the large hobo definitely has its appeal. Although not really what I'd consider a typical hobo shape, the hint of slouchiness gives this purse a desirable casual air. With studded flap pockets on either side and a slip pocket on the front, there's more than enough extra storage space to go around, too.

The interior of this Betsey Johnson handbag is lined in the brand's lace-printed lining. On the outside, the heart-shaped padlock detail displays the logo in a rather simplistic way. Overall, I'm rather impressed with the Locked In large hobo and am liking it best in this pretty shade of gray.

More Features of the Locked In Hobo

  • Measures 14.5 x 12.5 x 5 inches
  • Single strap with 8.5 inch drop
  • Front flap with magnetic closure
  • Studded detail on the sides
  • Zippered detail on the handle

Gucci Launches Snowman in Africa Charity Collection for UNICEF

Posted on: Nov 6

Gucci is preparing to launch its fifth annual charity campaign to benefit UNICEF. In the past five years the designer handbag brand has raised almost $7 million to support UNICEF's efforts in education, healthcare, protection, and clean water.

This year's collection is inspired by Snowman in Africa, the sequel to the best-selling children's book Snowman in Paradise. Gucci will sell the book alongside its limited edition charity accessories collection in its retail stores and online. 100% of the book's retail price, and 25% of the bag sales, will benefit UNICEF.

The accessories available include the large Joy Bag, and the smaller coin purse and wallet. As the name of the collection suggests, the purse's feature an appliquéd snowman standing in a field of African grasses and wrapped up by a native snake.

The Snowman in Africa goodies will be available from November 16 until December 31. However some lucky celebrities, including supermodel mama Heidi Klum, have already been spotted carrying the range. If her star endorsement helps to boost the profile of this worthwhile collection it can only be a good thing.

Solid Gold Bomb Pirate Transfer Shopping Tote | Simple and Basic Canvas Shopper

Posted on: Nov 3

Ahoy me hearties! The time has come to walk the plank! Shiver me timbers!

*Ahem* Apologies everyone, but there is something strangely entertaining about this simple pirate bag, and I simply couldn't help myself!

The funky skull and crossbones transfer brings a hint of individuality to a simple canvas shopper. The symbol never goes out of fashion, and is just as stylish for land-lubbing kitsch lovers as it is for the full blooded pirate-types.

Canvas bags are always a good thing to have around the house, touted as they are for keeping the earth clean and saving the environment. Davy Jones' Locker won't be full of ugly plastic rubbish if you use and re-use a bag like this instead! Of course, it is worth remembering that this is as basic as a tote can be, with thin fabric outside and no posh pirate print lining. If you want a bag that will last for years, opt for one with more features than a pretty and probably fading transfer!

This particular bag does come in a variety of colours to keep things exciting, and will be really handy for nipping onshore and catching up on your shopping. A good few eye patches should fit inside this one (am I taking the analogy too far?)! If you want one for even cheaper than the $19.99 price tag, however, then why not think about transferring images onto your own plain bag?

More Features of this Skull and Crossbones Pirate Treasure

  • Available in six bright colours
  • 100% organic cotton
  • Sewn bottom for reinforcement
  • Small carbon footprint

Melie Bianco All Over Studs Flap Over Bag | Burgundy Synthetic Leather Hobo

Posted on: Oct 23

This All Over Studs Flap Over handbag from Melie Bianco has a bit of an equestrian vibe about it, which is a fashion trend I'm currently rather excited.

Although not a traditional saddle bag in its truest definition, this casual hobo's double buckled detail on the bottom of the front flap definitely reminds me of the style. The handbag's somewhat relaxed shape is kept in line by the flap instead of looking sloppy.

Following a pattern quite characteristic of handbag fashion right now, the front flap of this Melie Bianco design is covered in small studs varying in size and color. I'm not always a fan of the mix-and-match studded look, but this one I like. It's not overdone in a way that makes you think it'll take over an outfit or clash with other studded details you might be wearing at the same time.

The random pattern gives this somewhat simple-looking hobo a contemporary twist. Thankfully, though, the feature does not continue to the back of the purse where it might become too much. Instead, it adds a touch of edginess to the design and leaves it at that.

The flap opens to reveal a zippered closure with an interior lined in Melie Bianco's signature polka dot satin. The All Over Studs Flap Over hobo, also known as the W9-327 style, retails for $98.

More Features of the All Over Studs Flap Over Bag

  • Measures 15.5 x 13 x 5 inches
  • Single strap with 9 inch drop
  • Detachable strap
  • Synthetic material

Maxx New York Barrymore Magazine Tote | White Pebbled Synthetic Handbag

Posted on: Oct 22

Girls who bemoan leaving their latest copy of Vogue at home will be thrilled with the Barrymore Magazine tote. It's tailor-made for carrying the hottest glossies!

The name should tip you off that this tote comes from Maxx New York's vintage Hollywood collection. That makes it a little more luxurious than many of the brand's bags, with classic pebbled leather replacing the synthetic we've come to expect. Of course, the price fluctuates accordingly. $225 might seem a little high to Maxx New York fans, but it's very reasonable for such a versatile leather carryall.

This white tote probably isn't the most practical option, but at least there are metal feet to protect the base. If you're hoping for the looks to last though, the black bag is probably your best bet. The golden hardware complements both shades beautifully. By adding some tiny studs here and a delicate zip there, Maxx New York keeps the look timeless. The logo tag tips the balance, but it's easy enough to remove.

The Barrymore is made for carrying more than just magazines. The cleverly organized interior makes it easy to keep the clutter at bay. There are two zippered pockets which complement three open gadget pouches. Outside there are another two zippered pockets in the front and back for even more secure storage space.

The strap is long enough to sling over your shoulder, but if you prefer the cross-body look don't worry. A detachable shoulder strap gives you that extra carrying versatility. It's completely adjustable too so you can get just the right fit.

More Features of This Maxx New York Magazine Tote

  • Belt detailing
  • Double magnetic snap closure
  • A single strap with an 8.25 inch drop
  • Measures 14.5 x 13 x 4.5 inches
