Coach's Poppy Collection is all glitz, glam, and youthful designs. Although this patent leather Glam Tote isn't quite as bodacious as some of the sequined designs from the popular line, the shiny look fits right in with Poppy's signature style.

The simple square-shaped silhouette of the Glam Tote is nothing extraordinary, to be sure. It's really just your classic, basic tote bag with a few zingy details to spice things up.

This version of the Glam contrasts glossy patent leather with grosgrain ribbon accent on the handles and running down the front and back of the handbag. Two convenient exterior zippered pockets are decorated with silver-toned o-ring pulls, as is the bag's main zipper closure on top.

I suppose patent leather wasn't quite enough glam for a bag named Glam, which must be why Coach added an extra glitter logo hangtag in addition to the one in patent. Overall, this a fun bag that offers a bit more pizazz than your average practical tote. It's also fairly consistent with the Poppy Collection's prices retailing at $268.

Laura Matthews Designs Lambskin Clutch with Nickel Plate | Cobra Patterned Leather Mini Tote

It's officially called a clutch, but this Laura Matthews Designs bag appears much more like a mini tote to me!

Names aside, this lambskin purse is a nice alternative to those ridiculously tiny clutches we're used to carrying. It comes with space for party essentials and then some, and the leather handle is more comfortable than the popular chain straps we typically see.

Just because it's comfortable doesn't make it altogether practical though. If only Laura Matthews Designs had added a few inches to the handle. Then we could have enjoyed the option of carrying the purse over our shoulders or in the crooks of our arms.

The handle isn't the only feature I've got a gripe about. The look rubs me up the wrong way. All the right elements are there. The buttery soft surface of lambskin has proven to be a more alluring alternative than traditional calf leather. The snakeskin texture is right on trend, and not so showy to offend conservative tastes. Yet it doesn't appear as luxurious as the combination of lambskin and exotic print should. The shiny surface looks a little cheap, and the nickel plate seems simply tacked on.

Laura Matthews Designs brings something different to the table here, but the looks just don't impress me.

Snake and croc may grab all the headlines, but they're not the only exotics available to discerning fashion fans. It may swim underneath the radar, but stingray is hot stuff.

The simple design of this retro clutch brings the beauty of the skin to the fore. The tiny bumps add subtly stylish texture to this lovely leather. The best part of stingray skin though is its strength. While many exotics require careful handling, stingray is thought to be as tough as hard plastic. You lose the buttery soft finish we love about lambskin and calf, but at least our purse retains those good looks in seasons to come.

Retro by name and retro by nature, this clutch features a simplistic flap design offset by an oversized silver buckle. Folded over, this works like a traditional evening purse. But unfold it and you've got a day bag, perfect for swanning about the city or making the transition from the office to the cocktail bar! The buckle doesn't make the most comfortable handle, but it's undeniably chic.

The convertible nature of the Retro Clutch affords more room than most evening bags. There aren't a lot of organizational features inside, but you'll be happy for the extra space. Just remember to take a little extra care to keep the clutter at bay!

Considering the clutch's convertible versatility and exotic good looks, this Jalda purse seems a steal at $588.

Treesje Metro Clutch | Modern Lambskin Leather Turnlock Purse

While many clutch purses are strictly after five affairs, the contemporary good looks of Treesje's Metro make it just as appropriate for daytime toting.

Complementary stitching around the borders of the purse and its flap add definition to the buttery soft lambskin. The sexy angular pleating in the centre adds even more structure to both front and back. But I'm not sure about the way the leather seems to bunch irregularly at the sides. A much smoother finish would have looked much more chic.

The Metro doubles up on security, with a zipper and vintage-inspired turnlock clasp. That makes it a little fiddly to get into, especially if your cell phone is ringing, but I still admire the extra safety measures. Open them up to reveal a space which is a little larger than the average. The zippered change pocket and cell phone slip help keep the essentials in order, leaving more space for your other party must-haves.

With all that room inside, it's strange that Treesje hasn't included a tuckaway shoulder strap. The styling seems to suggest a purse which suits both daytime and evening wear, but I'd get sick of carrying it in my hand for any extended period of time.

The $350 price tag seems a little steep at first, but when you consider the versatility of this day-to-night clutch it doesn't seem so outlandish.

Whilst there is no long handle to make this shoulder bag all the more functional, there are actually a few added bonuses that make this so much easier to use. The reinforced base is a great addition, as is the durable gray lining.

Thought has been put into this, even if the number of pockets added is a little sparse!

Felix Rey Madison Clutch | Bridal Metal Mesh and Crystal Purse

Felix Rey's bridal collection shows a glitzier side to the brand. Gone is the beachside appeal, replaced with a healthy dose of bling!

The Madison is a clutch styled with modern brides in mind. The flap design and satin trim may be classic, but there's nothing traditional about the shiny chain mesh. This gleaming metallic finish is offset with a band of sparkling crystals.

This purse is larger than many clutches, but I certainly wouldn't call it oversized. It's the perfect size for wedding essentials though, including a small pack of tissues and a lipstick for those after-dinner touch-ups!

The lack of shoulder strap is disappointing, but not altogether unexpected. Clutching a clutch the old-fashioned way is simply more becoming to a bride, although she may wish for that hands-free option when the canapés come out!

This purse would be a delightful contrast to a classic white wedding dress, but it'd look just as eye-catching with any evening ensemble. That versatility makes this wedding purse seem well worth its $260 price tag.

Calf leather is all well and good, but if you want that totally touchable, buttery soft surface, it needs to be lambskin. A framed panel with contemporary diagonal pleats jazzes up this classic dome shaped bowler. What a shame we don't see those same pleats on the bare and boring back!

You won't notice from a distance, but the hardware is also worth another glance. Grooves are cut into the silver rings that attach the shoulder straps. I love this accent. It's like nothing I've ever seen before, yet it's subtle enough to work with the sophisticated design.

Unzip the top to reveal the spacious ribbed grosgrain lined interior. The interior pockets are trimmed in leather, ensuring they stack up to everyday wear and tear. The base is also ready for everyday use. There are five metal feet ready to protect the sumptuously soft leather scuffs and scrapes.

The color palette is a little tame for my tastes, but it does make the Marina appropriate for the office. Choose yours in black, charcoal, burgundy, or this camel hue.

It's all about downtown glamour with the Anne Klein New York Greenwich Satchel.

It's made from nylon, which is both long-lasting and lightweight. It also keeps this satchel down to a perfectly reasonable $275. This fabric rarely looks luxurious, but it's jazzed up here with vertical quilting and sexy patent leather trim. The silver chain zipper pull adds edge, working with Anne Klein's familiar lion medallion to toughen up the fabric finish.

This satchel is so large, it could easily work as an office bag or travel tote. There's so much room inside, and the soft walls make it easy to overstuff. Plenty of pockets inside and out make it easy to keep your girly goods safe and organized.

The only thing that makes me hesitate are those shoulder straps. While the heavy metal links mimics the chain on the front perfectly, it can't be comfortable to carry. They say beauty is pain, but for an everyday bag like this I'd rather put practicality first.

Lanvin Amalia Tote | Quilted And Crinkled Classic Black Lambskin Leather Carryall

This tote is a great example of Lanvin's sophisticated aesthetic. The tote's shape and style are both classic and luxurious, but there are a few modern twists that make this tote special. Like the hand-wrinkled lambskin material. I honestly could not think of anything that feels and looks more sumptuous than this.

I wouldn't have guessed, though, that it would be a good material for quilting, as it seems, in the abstract, like there might be too much going on. But, it's executed perfectly, and I love the softening effect the crinkled material has on this somewhat preppy classic.

The quality of this bag really shows through in every detail from the satin trim to the diamond stitching to the grosgrain ribbon detail. I love the ribbon handles on the chain strap. They're way more comfortable to hold than metal, and will hold up to a decent amount of use.

The Amalia is a great tote that will look fab this season, and also for years to come.
