Nepotism is alive and well at the fashion house of Carlos Falchi. When your name is Kate Falchi, it's no surprise that you'll end up working right alongside your dear old dad in the family business.

While we might all lust for her lot, it seems Kate may have more than simply the Falchi name going for her. A look at the Carlos Falchi Graffiti Collection, Kate's first collaboration with her father, proves some of his talent may have rubbed off.

Falchi's signature tiger snakeskins serve as a backdrop for punkish sketches and defacement befitting the Graffiti moniker. The bags are a departure from the classic creations we're used to seeing from Carlos Falchi. If 25-year-old Kate can continue to inject this youthful energy into the sometimes staid label, it can only be a good thing.

The Graffiti Collection handbags will be available in three sizes, starting from $395 and ranging up to $1195 for the largest purse. They will debut at Bergdorf Goodman's Fashion's Night Out celebrations on September 10.

Coach knows just how to tease us with pearlized leathers in plum and metallics to get us in the mood for fall when there's still weeks left of summer.

Its new Cambridge Collection, available online now, will hit stores September 1. The collection includes five styles including my favorite: the Cambridge Zip Top Tote in plum shown at right. Other styles include the Alexa, a doctor-bag style in both a fringe and non-fringe version, a zip-tastic foldover clutch and a roomy hobo.

"This upcoming season the collections embrace a broad range of attitudes with a variety of new silhouettes and subdued colors in an array of handbags and accessories. The British sisters behind Angel Jackson are bringing their distinctive handbags and matching belts to the United States. It's a move that's sure to please fashionistas on the lookout for something different and the brand's legions of celebrity admirers.

In the 90s, Zevs was one of the top graffiti artists in Paris. Today his work is shown at international galleries around the world. What a difference a few years make!

In his latest exhibition, Liquidated Logos, Zevs has taken some of fashion's most iconic monograms and turned them into modern art. The recognizable signature prints of Louis Vuitton and Chanel are manipulated and cast on canvas, ceramics, and even metal. In this piece the colors of the famous LV logo run down the piece, almost as if they've been caught in the rain.

The eye-catching artworks will be on show at the Art Statements Gallery in Hong Kong from July 16.

But there's some concern that Zevs may not make it to the grand opening. He was arrested yesterday after painting the Chanel logo on the exterior of Chater House, an office tower in central Hong Kong. Sure it's great advertising for the show, but some might say it's also going a little far!

The name of this handbag might be similar to the the Silverlake Flap Bag also from The SAK, but the two styles are very different in appearance.

Whereas the Silverlake is made from a subtle dark leather material, this Dandelion bag is crafted from practical nylon. The funky, retro-style print on the flap bag was designed by French graffiti artist Gilles Jourdan. I really like the combination of black-and-white with a little pop of color here and there.

The print kind of reminds me of the LeSportsac Morgan just with a lighter background and larger figures of flowers and birds. This flap bag also has a more hand-drawn appearance that makes it more artsy-looking. The "Peace" patch on the front is a quirky addition as well.

Probably the best feature of the Dandelion handbag is the convertible aspect of it. You can carry this flap bag upright by the short double handles on the top, though to me they seem a little too short to be completely practical for everyday use. Most gals would probably utilize the extra-long strap to wear it across the body instead. The top of the tote flaps down for a compact style.

If you like the combination of quirky style and convenience, you'll like this convertible printed nylon bag from The SAK. The Dandelion flap bag retails for $79.

The SAK is one of many modern designers recognizing that green is the new black. The crocheted Eco Harmony Shopper didn't win me over, but the Pax Eco Canvas Tote just might.

This lightweight tote is made from an environmentally friendly blend of jute and cotton. The natural toned fabric is jazzed up with an eye-catching print by French graffiti artist Gilles Jourdan. All those birds and blooms do look a little busy, but the colorful pattern is ideal for gadding about on summer days. Just don't expect it to work in a formal setting.

Somehow I don't think you’ll mind too much though. The practical design means this tote will get plenty of daytime use. The roomy interior, lined with 100% recycled cotton, has ample space for your everyday essentials and a few luxuries besides. You'll also enjoy the generous side pockets, which provide a handy place for stashing the items you want at your fingertips.

My only concern is security. The open top design does offer easy access, but without so much as a zippered pocket I'm a little paranoid about my valuables. But perhaps I'm not the type of girl the Pax is supposed to dazzle. While I'm uptight about those details, the Pax's easy, breezy style is bound to appeal to boho babes that don't sweat the small stuff.

Art and fashion have always gone hand in hand, but few luxury labels can boast the artistic partnerships of Louis Vuitton. Now a new book, Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion, and Architecture, will celebrate the marriage between the French fashion house and the world's most influential artists.

Uh oh! It appears that Coach, one of the most popular designer handbag brands, is heading down the same road that resulted in damaging Dooney & Bourke's designer brand into a glorified teeny bopper handbag label.

I was very impressed with the direction Coach had taken over the past couple of years and considered it one of the better labels in the moderately-priced range (except for their over $1000 bags that defy logic).

Then they go and design something like this! Except for its' classic shape and practical storage features, the Coach Tattersall Graffiti Domed Satchel is all wrong. I mean WRONG!

The tragic graffiti-print fabric exterior and tacky metallic leather trim make for one stunted handbag. Plus it's priced at $498.

Are they kidding me? I wouldn't pay 5 pennies for this thing let alone $500. My advice to the design team at Coach is to stick to classic beauties such as the Penelope, Spectator and Madison collections and leave the ridiculous hag bags to D & B or Juicy Couture.
