They might be bosom buddies, but Blake Lively won't model for Victoria Beckham's new fashion line. Victoria's spokesperson told Vogue.com he's unsure what prompted the rumor, but that it's definitely not true.

"I don’t know where this one has come from - other than from Blake being a fan of the Victoria Beckham collection," he said. "She is not Victoria's 'muse' and there is no 'face of' the advertising campaign."

The Gossip Girl starlet met the former Spice Girl during New York Fashion Week. She's been spotted wearing pieces from Victoria's collections both on and off screen, while Victoria just landed herself a plum role on Blake's drama series. The whispers of Blake's starring turn in the marketing campaign seemed such a natural fit considering how much their paths have crossed lately, but I guess some things aren't meant to be. Perhaps Victoria's people should reconsider though. Surely having Blake's endorsement would help boost the sales of Mrs. Beckham's brand!

Apparently Victoria "Posh" Beckham and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively share more in common than an urge to display an inordinate amount of cleavage in public. The two have reportedly become BFFs since hitting it off at New York Fashion Week a couple of months ago.

Now rumors are spreading that Blake, a.k.a. Serena van der Woodsen, will be the new face of Victoria's fashion label for the upcoming spring 2010 collection. It actually isn't such an odd choice when you consider that the Gossip Girl wardrobe department is no stranger to VB's style and has featured the former-Spice Girl's designs on more than one occasion, not to mention her scheduled guest appearance on a future episode of the popular show.

With young and fresh Lively possibly set to star in an upcoming campaign, a new handbag and accessories line on the way, and a quickly rising number of celebrity fans, Victoria Beckham seems to have found her footing in the fashion world.

Devi Kroell might have a Target diffusion line under her belt, but her newest venture is a far cry from her affordable line of handbags featured in the budget-conscious store. This New York-based designer is moving up in the retail world ... specifically to a new flagship boutique in Manhattan's prestigious Upper East Side.

Since her first collection debuted in 2004, Kroell has been gaining momentum as well as more than a handful of celebrity fans. Fashionistas like Ashley Olsen, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna have carried her luxurious designs, and even Gossip Girl has caught the Kroell fever.

The award-winning designer has earned her spot on New York City's Madison Avenue, and the real estate couldn't be more impressive. Exotic skin handbags, jeweled clutches, gorgeous shoes, and other items are impeccably displayed in the two-story flagship store.

"I wanted to create an airy, secluded space where shoppers could have a serene experience and take in the pieces at their own pace," the designer says.

Hopefully this is one fashion brand whose sales and success will continue to rise rather than dip into dangerous territory necessitating layoffs and store closings. Be sure to check out the new boutique at 717 Madison Avenue next time you're in the Big Apple.

Gossip Girl and Mercy star Michelle Trachtenberg has teamed up with luxury label Botkier to create this sexy blue satchel. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the Michelle will benefit Oxfam International, a charity which helps the world's poorest.

The subtle slouch comes from the buttery soft Italian lambskin finish. Vertical belting, braided handles, and pyramid studs give the satchel a very of-the-moment look. But it's practical too, with plenty of interior space and pockets inside and out. The straps are a little shorter than I'd like, so I'm thrilled to see the longer, detachable, shoulder strap.

The Michelle has some on-trend features, but enough classic styling to give it a timeless appeal. That's much like Michelle Trachtenberg's own style! I can imagine this bag looking killer with a favorite pair of jeans and a cute T-shirt with a rock band logo.

The Michelle will hit stores this November. It’s mid-priced for a Botkier bag with a retail value of $545.

I'm no longer surprised to hear designer label spottings on the CW's fashionable and racy teen drama Gossip Girl. The show is practically one big runway of designer handbags, clothes, and shoes. I'm not complaining one bit, though, and I can't imagine any of the labels having something negative to say about it either.

Although I'm not a huge fan of the show or even a regular watcher, I do enjoy seeing stills of the filming and behind the scenes shots of the gals (and guys) in their designer duds. Who can help but envy the actors for their luxurious wardrobes?

One of the latest designer handbags to be spotted on the show is Be&D's Cosette satchel. We actually saw a glimpse of this revitalized bag in a recent review of the brand's fall 2009 collection. The fresh take on the bag is young, hip, and totally up Gossip Girl's alley.

The Cosette has been seen on the television show's set on the arms of both Blakey Lively (a.k.a. Serena van der Woodsen) and Joanna Garcia, a recent addition to the cast and rumored love interest of character Nate Archibald. Serena's Cosette will be in green python, but I much prefer Joanna Garcia's navy blue version.

A new website is helping the powerful tween demographic design their own fashions.

Fashion Playtes was created with pre-teen girls and young teenagers in mind. Users can customize a shirt, skirt, or handbag with their favorite colors and features such as ruffles and ribbons. Once they're happy with the design, girls can then purchase it. Whether they want to buy a new accessory or not, designing one sounds like a lot of fun.

But the site isn't simply a money-making exercise. It also aims to give girls a place to gossip about fashion and share their designs.

"We really want to make it more of a community so girls can share and collaborate," said founder and CEO Sarah McIlroy. "We want to have a gallery — which we are working on right now — where girls can upload the clothing."

The website also plans to have a number of fun games for girls to play when it officially launches in the first quarter of 2010.

Balenciaga has wooed starlets like Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan with its contemporary handbags. Their purses are casual, yet always embody uptown chic. But the brand takes things down a notch with its Arena Giant Rope Duffel Bag.

The glazed electric blue leather is every inch as sophisticated as we'd expect from the Italian fashion house. The finish has a subtle gloss, without being quite as flashy as a patent. Honestly, when you're carrying an electric blue bag you don't need any more flash. A smattering of studs and side buckles add just enough edge, without overwhelming this simplistic design.

The large and luxurious body is what we'd expect from Balenciaga, but at the top the brand takes a left turn. A rope strap threads through silver hoops at the top of the bag. Really Balenciaga? Rope? The thick plaited strap looks far too relaxed for that lovely leather body. The rope gathers up the leather too, making it appear more like a casual drawstring purse than a high-end fashion accessory.

The problem is the Arena still has the high-end price tag. For $1295, I expect a purse with a little more sophistication than this.
