Reed Krakoff is hardly a household name, but the Coach president and creative director may be about to step into the spotlight. Fashion Week Daily reports that Coach will develop a new brand around Mr. Krakoff.

The details are a little fuzzy at this point, but we know the names "Reed," "Reed Krakoff," and "RK" have all been registered with the United States Patent and Trademark office, along with a selection of custom logos.

It's thought the trademark may be used for ready-to-wear fashions, leather goods, personal care products, or hotel and restaurant services. That's a fairly diverse collection of ideas, so my guess is that no one really knows!

At this point Coach will only say that they always have new projects in development. Whatever it is, it's bound to be exciting. Reed Krakoff has worked with Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilifger, so I'm sure he's learned a thing or two about building a personal brand.

Ugg is famous for their furry accessories crafted from genuine Australian sheepskin. But the brand has turned its back on their iconic woolen purses to create this classic hobo. The problem is, that by losing its definitive look Ugg becomes just one of the pack.

There's nothing really to fault here. The traditional crescent shape is a classic for a reason. Black leather never goes out of style. But there's simply nothing new or particularly exciting in the execution. And for $348 retail, I think there really needs to be.

I appreciate this hobo's functional medium size, and all those inner pockets are bound to come in handy. The classic black shade and simple design lends itself to daytime and evening wear.

This Ugg Australia hobo is a pleasant, but ultimately boring, bag. While the brand's fuzzy purses weren't to everyone's tastes, at least they showed more personality than this!
