Apparently Victoria "Posh" Beckham and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively share more in common than an urge to display an inordinate amount of cleavage in public. The two have reportedly become BFFs since hitting it off at New York Fashion Week a couple of months ago.

Now rumors are spreading that Blake, a.k.a. Serena van der Woodsen, will be the new face of Victoria's fashion label for the upcoming spring 2010 collection. It actually isn't such an odd choice when you consider that the Gossip Girl wardrobe department is no stranger to VB's style and has featured the former-Spice Girl's designs on more than one occasion, not to mention her scheduled guest appearance on a future episode of the popular show.

With young and fresh Lively possibly set to star in an upcoming campaign, a new handbag and accessories line on the way, and a quickly rising number of celebrity fans, Victoria Beckham seems to have found her footing in the fashion world.

You just can't keep the queen down. She may have been dumped by Louis Vuitton for the much younger Lara Stone and Daisy Lowe, but Madonna's already found another modeling gig. The Material Mom will front Dolce & Gabbana's spring/summer 2010 campaign.

Acclaimed photographer Steven Klein shot the ads in New York last week, and the designers say they're thrilled with the "simply beautiful" images of Madge.

"To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true," designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana added.

This isn't the first time the talented trio has worked together. D&G were behind the costumes Madonna used for her Girlie Show in 2003 and last year's Sticky & Sweet tour. I don't expect anything quite so outrageous for Dolce & Gabbana's next collection; the fashions have to be worn by mere mortals after all. Yet Dolce & Gabbana has a habit of surprising us, so you just never know!

Megha Mittal, the daughter-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, has purchased the bankrupt German fashion house, Escada. The iconic style brand was sold for an undisclosed sum, although the German press estimate the deal with was worth around 100 million Euros including the company's widely publicized debt.

Ms. Mittal beat out stiff competition from the M1 Group, Sven Ley, the son of Escada founder Wolfgang Ley, and St John Knits owner Vester Capital Partners. She made the purchase through a family trust rumored to be in the three-digit million range.

The 33-year-old Ms. Mittal is a mother of two with a degree in finance and a lifelong passion for fashion.

"Our first priority is to ensure that the great heritage of this iconic company is translated into a strong and successful future," she told The Economic Times in India.

It's expected that current CEO, Bruno Slazer, will retain his position during the transition. Ms. Mittal will act as a board member and ambassador for the Escada brand.

Escada may have filed for bankruptcy, but don't count the European brand out just yet. Investors are rallying to save the iconic fashion label, despite insolvency proceedings opening on Sunday.

The leading prospect according to the New York Post is the Beirut-based M1 Group. The company purchased Faconnable from Nordstrom in 2007, and Escada’s similar upscale target market would make it the ideal sister brand.

The M1 Group reportedly hoped to combine the back-end operations of the two fashion brands into a single, fashion empire behind the scenes. Meanwhile the creative image of both bands would remain separate, capitalizing on their already strong fan bases.

But the M1 Group aren't the only heavy-hitters in the mix. Megha Mittal, the daughter-in-law of Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, and Sven Ley, the son of Escada founder Wolfgang Ley, and St John Knits owner Vester Capital Partners have all expressed interest in the brand.

A decision on Escada's insolvency proceedings could be forthcoming within the next few days. Whoever takes the reins, I hope they help Escada rise from the proverbial ashes to live another day!

Following the announcement of Jimmy Choo and Elton John's designer collaboration for AIDS initiative Project PEP, the fashionable pair has launched a photographic competition.

Your entry will need three things: you, your favorite shoe, and the number 72. The number is significant as Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) must be administered within 72 hours of exposure to the HIV virus.

The competition aims to raise awareness of the Project PEP initiative, which will raise funds for the Simelela Rape Center in Cape Town, South Africa. The center looks to administer rape victims with the vital PEP medication and provide medical, counseling, and legal support.

More than 100 lucky snappers will take home products from the Project PEP range, with the grand prize winner scoring seven pairs of shoes and two purses from Jimmy Choo. Many of the winning images will also be displayed at Project PEP's official launch at Selfridges London on October 29.
