The Be & D Guinevere is a purse which embraces the flirty side of femininity.

When so many feminine purses are pink and prissy, it's refreshing to find a clutch which is so much sexier. Choose from smooth purple patent or this polished black crinkled leather. Both are eye-catching options, but the crackled texture gives this one the edge for me.

While the leather is lovely, the real drawcard is the oversized bow. The stiff patent gives the accent structure, making it look edgier than bows tend to. The look reminds me a little of Christian Louboutin’s bow clutch, although this baby costs a little less. Not that $695 is cheap by any stretch of the imagination!

The suede lining adds an opulence air to the fairly basic interior. It's small but secure thanks to the zip closure. There are no shoulder straps tucked away inside, so if the Guinevere has caught your eye I hope you like clutching your purse the old fashioned way!

The Guinevere is a great purse for girls who want to show their feminine side without resorting to frills. It's more than I'd like to pay for an after-five accessory, but if you've got a busy social life the investment might be worthwhile.

Be & D are no stranger to sexy feminine ruffles: their Chatterly satchel channeled miniature ruffles with a rock-chick vibe, whilst the Kan Kan Tote was more about over-sized styling and origami structuring. The Tuilleries, the latest addition in a world full of clutches, continues the ruffles theme with a more demure feel.

Ruffles or layers can be over powering; the bag can be dwarfed by its decoration, and often so can your outfit. This purse, however, manages to avoid this. With soft crinkled layers, this bag leans more towards subtle than overt. The "clutched" shape means it looks completely at home in your hand, with the luxury Italian leather bunching in at the center.

To say this bag is subtle does demean its impact. In fact, this little purse isn't short in the looks department, and the designers have ensured its impact by decorating the front. The patent leather centerpiece is adorned with large suede "baubles," square chunks that add a much needed focal point to the crinkly bag. In comparison to the matching snakeskin patterned majority, the effect is lovely.

On top of great looks, this clutch gives you a lot of choice. From the optional long drop handle in chunky chain-link, to the zipped interior pocket, there's just as much going on under the surface as there is on top.

Of course, with luxury materials like this, you do pay for it. Whilst a cheaper imitation would look essentially the same, I doubt you would feel the same without this delicate leather beauty on your arm!

I'm not one of those girls that just goes totally nuts when they see the Fendi logo. In fact, I have been known to disregard the line entirely because it tends to be a little too flashy for my personal taste. But sometimes they come up with something that really intrigues me, and this is one of those times.

This crinkled patent Peek-A-Boo bag is so understated and ladylike that I almost can't believe it's Fendi. I mean, where are all the bells and whistles? There's not even any snakeskin on this bag! The truth is that this bag doesn't need anything extra to make it work. It has an old fashioned, sophisticated charm that defies trends.

The simple shape of the bag combined with the sleek patent material and the pronounced seams creates a sharply tailored look that will work for a lot of women. For edgier fashionistas, the Peek-A-Boo would make a great bag for the office, but I think a lot of women will find that this is a highly versatile, high quality accessory that can coordinate with a lot of looks. 

The details on this bag are so luxurious and plentiful that it's hard to know where to begin. The inside of the Peek-A-Boo is made of a fabulous laser cut suede that will make you want to reach into your purse at every possible opportunity. The gold metal hardware is understated and beautiful. And the interior compartment of the bag is ingeniously divided into two sections, which each have pockets of their own.

Well, clearly, I could go on, but I won't. I really can't find anything wrong with this bag, except that at $2090, I can't really afford it!

A Tory Burch handbag without the brand's signature T-shaped logo prominently displayed somewhere on it seems to be a rare thing. Though I rarely care to endorse a bag with extremely obvious branding, Tory Burch usually manages to do it with such great style that it doesn't bother me one bit.

Perhaps I approve because the logo is so abstract, or maybe it's the fact that it's very often included in a subtle way like this embossed version on the Bombe T Tote. Either way, a simple and chic bag like the Bombe T is only enhanced by the crossed-T logo.

The difference between the smooth, glossy handles and crinkled patent body is just as subtle as the logo but a fabulous contrast on the Bombe T bag. The brown color of the shoulder straps and bottom side panels is just a shade darker than the main part of the tote drawing attention to the details but not distracting from the overall style.

It's a slim handbag, so you won't be able to fit too many bulky items in it. However, the deep interior compartment is more than appropriate for carrying paperwork to and from the workplace in addition to plenty of other necessities. The open top closes with a magnetic snap for keeping your belongings inside. This unique Tory Burch Bombe T Tote retails for just under $500.

At once edgy and casual, Furla's Carmen Zipper Shopper can effortlessly add style to your everyday wardrobe.

The buttery soft patent leather gives the Carmen its unmistakable slouch and shine. The shoulder straps thread through grommets at the top of the purse like a drawstring, enhancing the Carmen's casual appeal. But it's not all relaxed. The angular zips at the front add a punk rock edge, while giving us a convenient place for stashing the stuff we need on hand.

You'll find more pockets inside. A secure zip pocket sits on the back wall, while a cell phone slip occupies the opposite side. This adorable Hayley Tulip Tote from Guess conjures up thoughts of 1950s diners and jukeboxes. Its bold retro styling isn't the only thing that harks back to the past though. At just $110, the retail price also holds an old-fashioned appeal.

The cost is kept to a minimum thanks to the vinyl exterior. It's less pricy than patent leather, but this fabric should have enough gloss to satisfy. The Guess logo at the front is a little flashy with its rhinestones, but it’s still small enough that it doesn't feel too over the top. The gathered design gives the handbag a feminine fullness without making it too fussy.

It appears to have an open design at first glance, but Guess hasn’t forgotten about your security. Those high sides hide a zip top closure to keep all your goodies safe inside. One side wall features a roomy zippered pocket, while the other has a couple of slip pockets to carry your PDA and cell phone.

The Hayley Tulip Tote is available in three unique color combinations. The natural multi feels a little drab to me, but it might suit more conservative tastes. The black and gray combination is a little more classic, but this fuschia tote has won me over with its vibrant pink tones.

Marc Jacobs hit gold with his Turnlock series of bags. The popular collection ranges from satchels to clutches and offers just about every color you can possibly think of for a purse. If you can imagine it, it's probably available in Turnlock. 

That's why it was no surprise to me to run across this sunshine yellow hobo from the Posh Turnlock line. It isn't a color I normally gravitate to, but it is intriguing and eyecatching. The lemon drop tone covers the entire bag from top to bottom and is only broken up by two pieces of hardware.

The gunmetal accents include the expected turnlock closure, which also displays the signature logo, and a decorative chain which hangs down the front of the Posh hobo. I find myself a bit bemused about the chain since it seems that it should function in some way. However, in reality, it serves no purpose but to add a little bling to the bag. Perhaps I would like it more if it were a tad shorter. Personally, I can see myself getting it caught on a doorknob or tangled on my arm, but that probably doesn't hold true for everyone. Less clumsy women might find it to be a nice addition to the handbag.

The patent leather has a nice crinkled texture that shines and picks up the brightness of the yellow. If the lemon color is too garish for you, this Marc by Marc Jacobs is also available in a deep indigo and a neutral mouse-colored brown. The turnlock on the top flap is the closure for the hobo, and opens to reveal a fun polka dot lining. The Posh Turnlock hobo retails for $428.

Phillip Lim's signature minimalism sure went out the window on this one. If he proved his versatility with the Doctor's Bag, it just looks like he has something to prove with the Gwen, which makes all the standard mistakes typical of overworking: too many colors, too many textures, and too many styles, all badly coordinated.

The shape is simple enough, and the main color of the satchel is a lovely metallic bronze. If that was where the description of the bag ended, it would seem more in keeping with Lim's classic, pared-down style. But, unfortunately, the front and back of the satchel is overlayed with a crinkled patent patchwork of red, purple, black, and tan. I love the combination of colors, and if there weren't so many of them, or if there weren't so much else going on, they just might work.

To add to the overdecorated exterior, there is contrast overstitching, which, I think, contributes to the bags overdesign and looks downright cheap on a handbag made of beautiful, high-quality leathers. On a simpler bag, the gold and black hardware detail on the handles would pack a stylish wallop, but on the Gwen, it is lost in the fray.

The 12.25" x 7.5" x 6.5" size makes it a great medium-sized everyday bag, with enough room for your organizer, wallet, and cosmetic essentials, but not so big that it becomes too heavy to carry when filled. For a woman truly in love with the patchwork trend, the Gwen might be a great designer choice at under $600.

The new Coach Resort Collection offers quite a mix of earth tones and bright, showy fabrics. One of the more vibrant options is the Madison Graphic Op Art Sabrina handbag. This is definitely not one of Coach's naturally-colored leather purses. The Graphic Op Art fabric, which is available on more than one bag shape, stands out from the crowd with its multicolored pattern.

It's not what I typically expect from Coach, but the bag has a certain appeal to it. It seems a little fussy at first glance and is a bit overwhelming to take in all at once. However, the Sabrina shape is classic, and there are some outfits that could look great when accessorized with a bright handbag like this one. Although it was recently unveiled, I see myself carrying it more during the spring and summer months.

The Graphic Op Art Sabrina is definitely meant for daytime and won't go with everything you own, but there are details that make it very appealing. The crinkled patent leather trim and handles looks trendy. The signature Coach "C" pattern on the fabric has delicate stitching around each letter shape. Another popular detail is the detachable strap that can be worn on the shoulder or across the body. I could do without the excess of Coach tags hanging from one of the handle rings, but I realize that some designer divas love that sort of thing.

Inside you'll find a zippered pocket and fabric lining. The classic Coach logo and emblem shine on the front leather panel. Like many other Coach bags, the Madison Graphic Op Art Sabrina is reasonably priced at $358. For a designer handbag with lots of personality, that's not a bad deal.
