They might be bosom buddies, but Blake Lively won't model for Victoria Beckham's new fashion line. Victoria's spokesperson told Vogue.com he's unsure what prompted the rumor, but that it's definitely not true.

"I don’t know where this one has come from - other than from Blake being a fan of the Victoria Beckham collection," he said. "She is not Victoria's 'muse' and there is no 'face of' the advertising campaign."

The Gossip Girl starlet met the former Spice Girl during New York Fashion Week. She's been spotted wearing pieces from Victoria's collections both on and off screen, while Victoria just landed herself a plum role on Blake's drama series. The whispers of Blake's starring turn in the marketing campaign seemed such a natural fit considering how much their paths have crossed lately, but I guess some things aren't meant to be. Perhaps Victoria's people should reconsider though. Surely having Blake's endorsement would help boost the sales of Mrs. Beckham's brand!

Gossip Girl Bags on eBay

Apparently Victoria "Posh" Beckham and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively share more in common than an urge to display an inordinate amount of cleavage in public. The two have reportedly become BFFs since hitting it off at New York Fashion Week a couple of months ago.

Now rumors are spreading that Blake, a.k.a. Serena van der Woodsen, will be the new face of Victoria's fashion label for the upcoming spring 2010 collection. It actually isn't such an odd choice when you consider that the Gossip Girl wardrobe department is no stranger to VB's style and has featured the former-Spice Girl's designs on more than one occasion, not to mention her scheduled guest appearance on a future episode of the popular show.

With young and fresh Lively possibly set to star in an upcoming campaign, a new handbag and accessories line on the way, and a quickly rising number of celebrity fans, Victoria Beckham seems to have found her footing in the fashion world.

While Victoria and David Beckham's super sexy Emporio Armani underwear ads were racy enough to make me just slightly uncomfortable, the married stars of London Fog's newest holiday advertising campaign just make me say "awww."

Television and silver screen star Eva Longoria Parker and her NBA-playing hubby Tony Parker are the epitome of lovey-dovey in the ads. It's not exactly G-rated with the couple locked in passionate embraces and Eva seemingly wearing nothing but a handbag in one shot. However, the two seem so genuinely in love that it's more sweet than saucy.

"They were so loving and affectionate with each other and the shots beautifully capture these intimate moments on set," said Dari Marder, Chief Marketing Office of London Fog, in a statement. "We are honored that they selected London Fog for their first fashion campaign together."

The holiday advertisements showcase London Fog trenches, luggage, and handbags and can be seen this winter in magazines and on billboards.

Victoria Beckham plans to expand her VB fashion line, with handbags next on the agenda. She reportedly hopes the endeavor will take her brand to the top-end of the accessories markets.

"Victoria is looking for designers from the top houses to help her put together a high end collection that will rival her favorite brands, like Louis Vuitton and Dior," a source claims. "She wants the range to be classic but contemporary, and she's interviewing designers she wants to work with personally."

Vicks has certainly got an eye for high-end fashion, with a collection of Hermes Birkins reportedly worth £1.5million. And that's not to mention all her other arm candy!

But I have to wonder where Mrs Beckham finds the time! Between being a supportive soccer wife, mother of three, occasional singer, and sometimes American Idol judge, she's one busy lady! Hopefully she'll find a moment to give this handbag business a real go, rather than simply slapping her name on the finished product.

Hermes Birkin Bags on eBay

Even with Victoria Beckham's ridiculous, over-the-top spending on her Birkin bag collection, Hermes is still dealing with financial woes. It's a common story these days with fashion labels as people are cutting out luxury purchases.

Though Hermes recently opened a new boutique in the East Hamptons, the company has had to postpone the scheduled openings of two new stores in China. Some people might be surprised to hear it, though, since the brand was considered one of the top labels, along with Louis Vuitton and Gucci, doing well during the financial crisis.

Hermes' CEO addressed the issue recently:

“We have a crisis, all luxury companies can feel it,” CEO Patrick Thomas said at a shareholders' meeting yesterday. “It would be illusory to think that Hermes can escape.”

At least the company's hiring freeze isn't affecting the leather-goods department yet. Only time will tell how well they survive in the months to come.

It seems almost contradictory to report about the practical outlook that Beyoncé has on fashion when she's constantly seen toting some of the most expensive luxury handbags.

However, unlike the Birkin-obsessed Victoria Beckham's of the world, this soulful singer/sometimes actress claims to have a limit when it comes to spending money on fashion. Beyoncé recently described her non-diva, laid-back style to The Mirror:

"I don't know if I'm fashion obsessed. I think when I’m working, yes, but when I’m at home I usually wear the same thing every day. I have my straight-leg jeans and a pair of Christian Louboutins and a little jacket and a white shirt. I get sent about fifteen designer bags a month. I can only imagine how much they cost. Even I wouldn’t buy some of them."

Well, it's not as if she can be labeled a budget fashionista while stomping around in Louboutins every day, and I certainly don't feel sorry for her having to deal with mountains of designers bag handouts every month (like her $42,000 Louis Vuitton Tribute ... what a nightmare). However, with most shoppers pinching pennies these days, I suppose it's nice to hear that even ridiculously overpaid celebrities might know when to reign in the spending.

While many of us are tightening our belts and spending less in these tough economic times, rich fashionistas like Victoria Beckham are still living the high life. Never one to look for budget bags like the rest of us, Vic prefers to splash out Hermes Birkins. A new report suggests the former Spice Girls' collection of the status handbags is worth a whopping £1.5 million.

Apparently the artist formerly known as Posh Spice has 100 of the iconic handbags, which retail for $6,000 and $7,000. Of course, that’s just your run of the mill Birkin. Victoria’s favorites are made from more exotic skins like ostrich, crocodile, and alligator.

It's easy to point fingers at self-absorbed celebs like Victoria, who prefer to spend money filling their closets than clothing the homeless. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who drools over those photos of Posh proudly carrying her latest purse purchase!

Fashionistas were out in droves the other night as designers, models, and more than a few celebrities gathered for the infamously exclusive Costume Institute Gala in New York City.

The event celebrated the opening of an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme for the evening was "The Model as Muse", an appropriate choice since the new exhibit is entitled Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion.

Bag Bunch favorite and Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs co-hosted the event with supermodel extraordinaire Kate Moss, who is undoubtedly many a fashion designer's muse. Luxury labels were everywhere to be seen that night, with more than a handful of people in Jacobs' designs, including Moss and Victoria Beckham.

Is it just me or does Christy Turlington seem to be everywhere lately? She recently starred in Bally's steamy spring and summer ads, and now she's rumored to be the top choice for Yves Saint Laurent's fall campaign.

Of course, she's not the only one whose face is popping up again. The once-reigning supermodels of past decades have returned with a vengeance. Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Jerry Hall are just a few famous (and miraculously ageless) modeling faces reappearing of late. 

The up-and-coming models and the starlets had better beware. These women have returned to claim their fair share of the fashion ads. Though many brands are still opting for celebrities, like Katie Holmes for Miu Miu or Victoria Beckham for Emporio Armani, I'm glad to see that the supermodels still have their place.

More news to come regarding the rumors of Christy Turlington for YSL. For now, we'll just have to satisfy our model obsession with Claudia Schiffer and Ferragamo.

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I don't see Michael Kors as a particularly cutting edge designer who pushes the boundaries of fashion and makes people look twice. However, he's got his niche figured out and always seems to give us classy styles that aren't shocking but really can't be criticized.

It was hard to put that thought from my mind when I first saw this Rehearsal Satchel. It's not that I find it unappealing; it's just not amazing. I don't dislike it one bit, though.

Like all Michael Kors handbags, the Rehearsal is made from quality leather and completed with impeccable details that you'd expect from a designer bag that costs nearly $1400. I do like the bright, sunny yellow color, although this tote is also available in a few other colors too. If you're willing to shell out close to $3000, you can get the Rehearsal in trendy python.

The top has that slouchy drawstring look that we've been seeing a lot from Michael Kors lately, as in the Harrison and the Desert totes. The square-shaped handle rings are a nice touch as well as the logo-engraved handle anchor plates. I find myself scratching my head a bit about the side zippered detail, but the tassels aren't bad.

All in all, it's not the best I've seen from Kors, but the Rehearsal is a classic style that will probably last you for years. Plus, Victoria 'Posh' Beckham has been seen with it, which is enough to make some women pull out their credit cards faster than you can blink.
