If there is one problem with totes or hold-alls, it that is that they look bulky. Stuffed with your treasured belongings, they are full of lumps, bumps and are unattractively bulgy. This bag, however, is here to put an end to all ungraceful totes. Dior once again offer a solution to an age old problem, providing spacious and elegant carrying for all.

Large bags like this always look best with simple designs, and this is no exception. You get the cushioned and textured quilted leather in a simple square shape. Even better, you get all the luxury and fashionable look of patent leather, without being overpowered by the sheen. I'm not saying that you don't get a lot for your money; instead I'm saying that you get just the right amount. This bag, as the three bears would say, is juuuusst right.

I am glad that Dior have decided to use to silver hardware, and have dressed up the purse with a cute logo charm. If you were worried that people wouldn't recognize your massive investment as the label it should be, then you don't have to fret any more. This is cute, recognizable and above all is definitely designer. It screams it from its detachable extension handle to its cute stitching, from its strong supportive shape to its heavenly fabrics.

My final point about this is the interior. Totes most often concentrate on the look of the hold-all overall, and forget the interior. Thankfully Dior seem to have realized that paying skyscraper amounts for a bag means you deserve the chic look from the outside in. Here we have a smaller softer quilted interior, that wouldn't look out of place alongside Chanel's timeless classics.

I'm searching for a negative point, but simply can't find one. The price (always painful) is high, but this bag beats others of similar value hands down. And it may not the the largest tote on the market, but that is the price you pay to keep it looking so neat. It's lovely!

Miu Miu has long been a favorite brand of mine. Alongside the more traditional and classic designs of Chanel or Vuitton, Miu Miu screams contemporary, modern and youthful. Its exciting and eclectic designs are favorites of budding fashionistas and style icons. Personally, I love it because they can make even an ordinary hold-all look so darn good!

The key to these good looks are the fabulous and luxurious ingredients. The softest leather delicately aged for perfect style, the artistic proportions that make your outfit look better that it ever could before. Miu Miu has that certain magic.

This shopper is no exception. Simple and elegant, it hangs off your arm begging to be touched. Begging to be looked at, honored, treasured. An attention seeker all the way, the bag at first glance hides it well. It is only as you look deeper, at the craftsmanship and the special touches, that it really becomes something special.

I am a big fan of the ruching on this particular piece. The gently worn old leather gathers together like liquid. Fitting neatly in with the ruffles trend, this purse keeps it muted and wearable. It has space for all your belongings with its more than generous dimensions, and even gives you a detachable second handle. When making a financial commitment like this (and Miu Miu is rarely a bargain), it is the little extras that really make all the difference.

I have looked long and hard for any honest negatives, but must admit I am struggling. I will just mention, perhaps, that it is only held closed by a magnetic snap closure - not the most secure option. If you are carrying around the crown jewels, you may find yourself a little paranoid about safety.

The slogan describes this as "Cosmic and Contemporary" - and I agree. Perfect for fashion shows, parties, or even just the office, this is a multipurpose designer bag with more than a little x-factor!

This cute Isaac Mizrahi for Target bag offers vintage style at a price we can all afford.

The style is reminiscent of Goldenbleu's Audra clutch, with front pockets appearing like little coin purses. Each pouch features a vintage style ball clasp, imitating the main compartment's closure. The classic style seems a little at odds with the glossy pink finish, but I think that surprising mix makes it more interesting. If you're after something tamer though the same purse is available in more conservative browns and burgundies.

As the name suggests, this frame purse is small in stature. But thankfully there are plenty of storage options beyond the front pockets. Inside we’re treated to a secure zip pocket and a handy key strap.

The chain strap looks a little bulky for this purse, and it's not likely to be the most comfortable thing to sling over your shoulder. It can be tucked inside, but then your storage space is compromised. I'll let you decide which option is the lesser evil!

With a retail value of just $20, this handbag flew off the shelves when it was released at Target. That makes it a little tricky to track down, but if you keep your eye on eBay you might just get lucky!

Maybe it's a little early, but all the retail signs of spring are here: the resort collections are starting to show up in stores, last year's models of everything are on sale, and pastels are everywhere. Okay, well, maybe not everywhere. I, for one, am still fully engaged in my all-black winter wardrobe program, but I am thinking ahead to the moment when the knee high boots are replaced with strappy sandals.

And in that thinking, I have come across what may become one of spring's most perfect pastel accessories: the Marc by Marc Jacobs Dot Bowler Bag. It has all the cute I want out of a spring fling, without getting saccharine about it. I love the rounded update of the traditional bowler shape, and the way the soft, supple leather enhances it. The pleating is a genius detail that gives the Dot an almost hobo softness, but the structural design keeps the handbag in line.

The mint green is delicate and lovely, and will complement spring shades beautifully. Or, if you want it right now, it would be a great way to add a soft pinch of color to your own dark winter palette. I love the crinkly texture of the leather and the way that the Dot's overall softness is balanced by the classic shape and shiny silver hardware. 

The dual straps fasten to the sides of the main compartment with adorable oversized buttons. There is a front compartment with the visible turnlock closure. The flap top covers the front pocket and the zipped main compartment. The 7" x 11" x 14" size shows that this season's oversized trend isn't abating, and women will be carrying luggage-sized accessories for at least one more season.

Soft, pastel, oversized, and classic, the Dot has a lot going for it. I just can't wait for the weather to match its bright, optimistic mood!
