Ugh, this is exactly why I hate Juicy Couture. Pardon me if this bag is up your alley, but I can think of so many better ways to spend $190 that I can't imagine why anyone would spend it on this.

First of all, this bag is made of terrycloth, which, as far as I'm concerned is only suitable for towels and sometimes beach rompers. But for a bag? I can't think of anything less durable (maybe aluminum foil?) or more likely to hold stains. The color is the trademark Juicy Couture pink, which I like just fine in a sophisticated fabric, but honestly, I'm having a really hard time looking past the terrycloth.

And, by the way, could this bag have a bigger logo? It covers more than half of the front of the bag! Seriously, it might as well be a tattoo. If I didn't hate the cheap looking dangly charms so much, I might be grateful for how much of the logo they obscure, but as it is, I just find the whole thing an explosion of cheesy sweatshop labor crap.

Really, I don't know who they're kidding selling this stuff in high end stores. This is the kind of fare you expect from tween boutiques, but, unfortunately, you can find this bag at a high end retailer near you. Admittedly, Juicy Couture has never really been to my taste, but with a lot of their things I can at least see why another woman might buy it. This I think is tasteless and aesthetically offensive.

Sometimes the best bags are the simplest. I love a solid-colored leather purse that allows simple details to shine. B. Makowsky is great for this type of handbag. Yes, they have their fair share of funky and colorful, but they also have a nice selection of tasteful and unique styles.

The Athens tote is such a simple silhouette for a bag; it's a slim, square tote. However, the uncluttered shape makes the pretty pleated leather on the front pop. Silver studded details and o-rings shine on the muted olive color. It's certainly not the girliest bag on the market (for that, you need Juicy Couture), but B. Makowsky has a talent for making somewhat masculine details look classic and feminine. See the Marseille for another example of this.

The look of the Athens handbag kind of says safari chic style to me, which is appropriate due to the wild leopard print lining inside. Like most other totes, this one is big on storage because of its deep interior with multiple pockets. It's definitely not a formal or even slightly dressy bag, but I can definitely see its practicality on a long day running errands and shopping.

The signature B. Makowsky logo is displayed on a leather panel stitched to the front of the bag. A zipper closure keeps everything in, and the dual straps are rolled on the top for ease of carrying. The Athens tote comes in several other neutral colors such as brown and black and is also available in metallic silver.

Chloe is arguably one of the most popular handbag designers among celebrities. You literally cannot open a fashion or gossip magazine without finding at least one starlet carrying one from the latest collection. It's the Christian Louboutin of handbags when it comes to frequency of being photographed on celebrities. You would think that the overexposure would make them less appealing to some, but it doesn't seem to have affected their popularity one bit. 

It's hard to dislike Chloe when the designer continually creates gorgeous handbags like the Saskia. This one comes close to the much-desired "it" bag status of the Paddington. Like most Chloe purses, the Saskia has a slightly casual yet completely elegant quality that makes it equally appropriate for a daytime shopping trip or an evening out to dinner.

The slouchy appearance of the bag looks comfortable, worn-in, and not a bit pretentious. This particular gray leather version of the Saskia has studded details down the front, which I absolutely love. You can also opt for the simpler, stud-free version of this bag if this one doesn't fit your style.

Front tab pockets add to the casual feel. You can carry this Chloe bag on your shoulder for convenience or use the metal handles. Though it retails for $2125, the Saskia just might be one of the designer bags well worth the price tag. Don't feel like you're just following the crowd if you love this bag. The Saskia is fabulous even without the popular name brand.

Valentino is looking to add a little glamour to your next trip to the mall with its new handbag line. Acclaimed designers Maria Grazia Chiui and Pier Paolo have created 10 different purses for the Shopping Couture collection.

Each beautiful bag has a style all its own. Rock and roll studs and colorful peacock feather accents complement signature Valentino Haute Couture embellishments like roses, embroideries, and ribbons. I've fallen for this Soleil tote with its richly textured pleated leather creating a fiery sun. It reminds me a little of the iconic Maison pintucked purse, but the design is even more striking. Could Valentino have another "It" bag on its hands?

The first of the Shopping Couture luxury tote bags will hit Valentino boutiques and Neiman Marcus stores in late November, just in time for Christmas. We'll see a few new ones released every couple of months through to April. You'll need to save your pennies though. Prices range from $2995 to $5895.
