Louis Vuitton Donates Online Profits to The Climate Project for Earth Day

Posted on: Apr 21

Louis Vuitton is going green tomorrow, April 22, to celebrate Earth Day. The luxury handbag designer will donate 15% of the day's online American sales to The Climate Project. The Climate Project is the brainchild of Nobel Laureate and former vice president Al Gore. The international non-profit group looks to raise public awareness of the climate crisis.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with The Climate Project and promote environmental awareness in honor of Earth Day," said Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton, North America. "Over the past few years Louis Vuitton has voluntarily made efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. In addition we are proud to be able to support The Climate Project in its inspiring quest to raise awareness of the climate crisis."

Louis Vuitton has been a longtime supporter of the environmental charity, which has benefited from the brand's Core Values campaigns since 2007. Louis Vuitton has made donations to The Climate Project on behalf of the advertising's stars Catherine Deneuve, Andre Agassi and, Keith Richards, Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola, and Sean Connery.

If you're looking for the ideal Earth Day bag, might I suggest this Alma MM from the new Stephen Sprouse collection? The pink rose print and vibrant vert green shade are ideal for the day's environmental focus!

Madonna’s Louis Vuitton Fashion Ad Revealed

Posted on: Dec 4

This is our first look at Madonna's sexy new ad campaign for Louis Vuitton. She may be 50 years old, but you wouldn't know it looking at those legs!

This is the first of six French-inspired images shot by Madonna's good friend and regular photographer Steven Meisel. They were taken inside Los Angeles' Café Figaro, a setting that seems tailor-made for these vintage looking photographs.

The fashion house's creative director Marc Jacobs was inspired to make the Material Mom his next muse after seeing her Sticky & Sweet concert in Paris.

"I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy."

So he tapped out a message to the star on his Blackberry. She responded with just three words: "I'd love to."

There were suggestions that Madonna pocketed a whopping $10 million for the gig, but Louis Vuitton's director of communications, Antoine Arnault, denied this.

"It's very far away from that," he said.

Whatever Louis Vuitton paid, it looks like it was worth every cent! The ad campaign is set to appear in fashion mags in February, the same time as Sean Connery's Core Values commercials.

Sean Connery Stars in Louis Vuitton Core Values Advertisement

Posted on: Oct 11

It seems the rumors were true: Sean Connery is the new face of Louis Vuitton's Core Values advertising campaign.

Everyone's favorite James Bond posed for famed photographer Annie Leibovitz on a dock near his Bahamas residence. Aren't we all just a little bit jealous that he lives there? He might be 78 years old, but Sean still looks casually cool in his three-quarter pants and Bermuda hat.

Sean shares the spotlight with a traditionally monogrammed Louis Vuitton Keepall bag. It's a classic, just like the film icon himself. It's also waterproof, which makes it the perfect choice for this tropical image!

Sean Connery is the latest in a long line of celebrities starring in the Louis Vuitton Core Values commercials. They include rocker Keith Richards, French screen siren Catherine Deneuve, dynamic film daddy-daughter team Francis Ford and Sofia Coppola, and sport glamor couple Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.

The Sean Connery Core Values ad is slated for publication later this month.

Sean Connery Rumored Star of Louis Vuitton Core Values Handbags Commercials

Posted on: Sep 25

Could Sean Connery be the new face of Louis Vuitton? That's the rumor doing the rounds, and it's not as far-fetched as you might think.

Sure, Sean's getting a little long in the tooth for modeling these days, but he's the perfect candidate for Louis Vuitton's "Core Values" campaign. After all, the advertisements center around personal journeys and self discovery. Few people have lived a life as interesting as the iconic Scottish actor! And is anyone cooler than everyone's favorite James Bond?

If he is the next Core Values model, Sean would join such luminaries as Mikhail Gorbachev, tennis glamour couple Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi, cinematic icon Catherine Deneuve, and the most recent faces of Francis Ford Coppola and his director daughter Sofie.

We won't have to wait too long to see whether the rumors are true. Apparently Sean has already posed for the commercials with the acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz and they're set to print in November.
