Fashion magazine Lucky is full of style tips and chic clothing and accessories options. Outside of the colorful pages, however, they're collaborating with top designers for all kinds of fun shopping events.

Following a fabulous HSN shopping extravaganza that included special handbags, shoes, and clothes from Rebecca Minkoff, Kooba, and more, Lucky has joined up with one of my favorite designers for a special event on a slightly smaller scale. They've teamed with all-American Michael Kors to create a limited edition version of his Hamilton Chain Tote.

The classic Hamilton style has been revamped with a dose of metallic gold material. It's certainly not understated but definitely holiday-worthy and effortlessly chic. With a classic tote shape and two carrying options, there's not much to dislike about this handbag.

Rebecca Minkoff shows she knows how to do more than boxy bags with the new Darling.

This unexpected purse is more hobo than shoulder bag with its crescent shape and soft, slouchy silhouette. For a designer who favors structure, this bohemian look is a real surprise. But she embraces it, with tasseled zipper pulls on the vertical side pockets continuing the free-spirited feel. I'm less convinced by the zippered belt which encircles the purse. It's more rock and roll than love child, so it looks a little out of place. In my opinion, the Darling would have looked much better without it.

The side pouches are ideal places to stash your cell phone and keys, away from the clutter than inevitably builds up in a big bag. Not that the Darling doesn't try to keep things in order. With a pouch panel pocket, a multifunctional slip, a zippered pouch and a metro card pocket there really is a place for everything. I'm just realistic enough to know that when we're on the go, clutter still creeps in!

The long rolled shoulder strap is ideal for this cooler weather. You can comfortably slip it over your shoulder even while wearing a thick winter coat.

The Darling is reasonably priced for a Rebecca Minkoff bag at $495.

While recently flipping through my fresh-from-the-mailbox edition of Lucky magazine, I was excited to find a section about a new fashion collaboration between the brains behind the magazine and the budget-conscious folks at HSN.

Lucky enlisted the help of seven fabulous designers to create exclusive but affordable pieces for a special capsule collection. From jewelry to clothing and handbags, this group of fashion geniuses put together several great outfits.

The list of designers includes Rebecca Taylor, Shoshanna, Tracy Reese, Helen Ficalora, Gerard Yosca, and familiar bag names Rebecca Minkoff and Abbe Held from Kooba. The handbags from Minkoff and Kooba are all stylish, unique, and exactly what I'd expect from the two brands with a mix of croco-embossed leather, studs, and patent material.

The items will be available only through HSN and at Lucky's signature shopping party Lucky Shops in New York City on November 6 and 7. The Lucky Shops: Designer Event is scheduled to air on HSN on October 16 from 8-10 pm (ET) and on October 17 from 8-10 am (ET).

Financial crisis? What financial crisis? That's the attitude of Harvey Nichols customers, who are still happy to fork out the big bucks for luxury handbags.

A representative from the retail chain's Knightsbridge store said one customer recently parted with £15, 000 for a hand-made alligator leather purse from American designer Lana Marks. The sale of the multicolored Positano handbag shows some shoppers are still prepared to splash their cash around.

But Hillary Vallieres, a spokeswoman for the store, says luxury lovers are rejecting signature prints and other heavily branded bags for more subtle designs. She explains that Lana Marks is "in the category of discreet luxury; it doesn't have a screaming label as other big brands do. A lot of customers are considering having less ostentatious labels, especially given the current recession."

Many of the store's high-end customers are wealthy jetsetters, adds personal shopping manager Rebecca Saville. She explained that the weaker pound has enticed shoppers from Asia and the rest of Europe.

The handbag market exceeded £500 million in the United Kingdom for the first time last year, but market researcher Mintel still predicts a slump due to the recession.

InStyle's fun and informative list of the "Best Bags for Fall" includes a veritable plethora of handbag-toting celebrities showing off some of the most current styles for the upcoming season.

The list is fairly comprehensive encompassing nearly every recent, popular handbag trend I can rattle off in one sentence. This includes everything from design details like ruffles and studs to other features like silver color, snakeskin, and chain straps. Oh, and evidently satchels and oversize clutches are big for the season as well. I'm not sure they really ever went out of vogue, especially satchels, but I suppose they might be even more prominent this fall.

I can't say I'm particularly surprised by anything on InStyle's list, but it's fun to see which stars are wearing what styles. I've already seen the pictures of Jessica Alba sporting her Tod's snakeskin tote, but Heidi Klum's edgy studded and fringed large tote was new to me. Of course, the designer labels are prevalent on this list full of stars. Familiar names and trend-leaders like Rebecca Minkoff, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana all made an appearance.

Rebecca Minkoff isn't the only one recognizing the hole in the bridal bag industry. The latest label looking to fill the gap is Fossati.

The brand looks to create "a limited-edition evening bag that would work for any special occasion but especially cater to brides on their wedding day."

While Rebecca Minkoff may have the big designer name, Fossati's accessories offer a little more luxury. Its wedding line is the result of a collaboration with renowned bridal and fine arts photographer, Laurie Tennent.

The Venice Evening Bag, a bridal favorite, pairs silver hardware with hand-picked lizard skin. The exotic leather is the ideal accompaniment for that big white dress, but after the ceremony it’d work just as well with everyday evening attire or even blue jeans.

"We wanted to create a limited-edition evening bag that would work for any special occasion but especially cater to brides on their wedding day," explained designer Catherine Fossati Healey. "Every bride should have an exquisite handbag that compliments her wedding couture and is exquisite enough to pass on to her daughter."

Anyone who's ever planned a wedding knows bridal attire is never cheap. So perhaps it's not so surprising to see the Fossati bags priced at almost $1000. That's a big chunk of change, but unlike the ideal wedding dress we can at least use it after the big day's done!

Rebecca Minkoff is applying her contemporary design flair to the bridal industry with the launch of her "I Do" collection. Rebecca obviously believes in the range, as she carried one of these very bags on her own wedding day in June.

The most exciting part is that all bags can be completely customized. Brides can send the designer their choice of lace and satin. This ensures the accessories will coordinate with the bridal party's attire. That makes the prices – between $195 and $215 – seem incredibly reasonable. Especially since, unlike so many other wedding day indulgences, these designer bags could easily be incorporated into your everyday evening essentials.

But there is a catch. Brides must place a special order of at least four pieces. Still, they'd make fantastic bridesmaids gifts for your gal pals if your big day budget can stretch that far. Wedding Bags on eBay

With price tags generally pushing $1,000 and beyond, Be & D is one of those fashion accessories labels that I love to covet despite the fact that it is decidedly out of my handbag shopping budget. In an industry where certain looks can sometimes start to pop up in more than one brand's collection, this company seems to have a voice of its own.

Its styles aren't shockingly different than other brands like Rebecca Minkoff or Marc Jacobs, but its handbags do tend to be quite unique. It seems that Be & D also like to stick to its favorites as well as bringing in some fresh looks, though, as its collection of fall 2009 handbags exhibits.

Although there's some new flavors in the mix, we also see that it has revisited its one-of-a-kind Kan Kan tote as well as the Cosette satchel. However, there are a couple of trendy, unexpected additions including metal studs and leopard print. I'm not talking about a handful of studs on a shoulder strap; the Garbo tote in khaki is actually covered in them. I was also completely surprised to see the Woodstock hobo in full leopard print.

It's interesting to see this injection of new style into Be & D's handbags, though they hardly needed anything else to convince me to look at them.
