They might be bosom buddies, but Blake Lively won't model for Victoria Beckham's new fashion line. Victoria's spokesperson told Vogue.com he's unsure what prompted the rumor, but that it's definitely not true.

"I don’t know where this one has come from - other than from Blake being a fan of the Victoria Beckham collection," he said. "She is not Victoria's 'muse' and there is no 'face of' the advertising campaign."

The Gossip Girl starlet met the former Spice Girl during New York Fashion Week. She's been spotted wearing pieces from Victoria's collections both on and off screen, while Victoria just landed herself a plum role on Blake's drama series. The whispers of Blake's starring turn in the marketing campaign seemed such a natural fit considering how much their paths have crossed lately, but I guess some things aren't meant to be. Perhaps Victoria's people should reconsider though. Surely having Blake's endorsement would help boost the sales of Mrs. Beckham's brand!

Tory Burch has amped up the glam factor with this metallic Nico tote.

It seems to be inspired by Andy Warhol's muse, but I can't imagine the Velvet Underground singer carrying anything quite this ostentatious. The boxy design is simple enough, and Tory Burch has been careful to keep the accents to a minimum, but there's no getting away from that bold gold finish. Despite the lack of bells and whistles, you'll need confidence to carry off such a head-turning look.

The decorative details may be pared back, but they're still there. Vertical banding helps to break up the expanse of shiny pebbled leather. The T-shaped gold hardware near the dual handles is a subtle nod to their designer. Heaven knows, the Nico needs all the subtlety it can get!

The interior is pleasantly practical, with a zippered pocket and two multifunctional slips helping to keep the roomy space in order. A zipper would have provided a little more security than the magnetic snap, but it does the job to the best of its ability. If you're really concerned about safety, you can always keep your valuables in the zippered pocket after all.

If you'd prefer something a little demure than this glitzy gold number, the Nico is also available in basic black.

It appears that the infamous "manbag" that many attribute to today's metrosexual trend is not as recent an addition to the fashion world as we might have originally thought. In fact, leather handbags for men date back even to the days of King Henry VII.

Among the many artifacts found aboard the sunken warship, the Mary Rose, a Tudor-era trendy leather manbag was discovered with a compact mirror and razor to boot. The vessel was actually raised back in 1982, and the hull has been on display ever since. The plethora of personal items also found aboard the ship, however, has not been seen by the public due to a lack of space to display them.

That is something that the Mary Rose Trust is trying to change, though, with a recent unveiling of the items, vintage manbag included, to reporters. It's hoping to raise money for a hi-tech museum project set for 2012 that will showcase all of the artifacts.

Perhaps the news that men have been carrying around practical, stylish bags for hundreds of years will encourage more lads to get on board with the manbag trend.

Net-A-Porter has its newest edition of The Bag Guide out, and it breaks down the various style options we shoppers have for updating our handbag collections for the fall season.

The style categories on the list cover quite a range of looks, from classic leopard print and the "anytime-everywhere bag" to the "forever bag," which functions as both purse and work of art. The overarching theme of all twelve looks, however, is making a statement. It's a trend seen at recent runways shows as well, such as Versace's Alice in Wonderland-inspired collection.

As always, there are familiar designer names on Net-A-Porter's list. Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and Bottega Veneta all made the cut with their stunning handbags. My personal favorites are the Bottega Veneta Karung satchel and the Yves Saint Laurent leopard-print Muse Two (seen above), both definitely statement makers.

Samsonite's designer collaborations are coming thick and fast. Months after announcing its Black Label collection with Viktor & Rolf, the luxury luggage brand has announced its latest collaboration with McLaren.

It might seem an unlikely pairing, but it's not the first time we've seen sports car inspired bags. Last month we saw Ralph Lauren launch the Scuderia collection, a range inspired by Ferrari's race cars. Perhaps fast cars are replacing model muses in the world of fashion?

Samsonite Black Label Bags on eBay

Payless ShoeSource will released this stylish charity tote as part of NYC's Fashion's Night Out, an initiative designed to promote New York fashion and retail and inspire consumer confidence.

The fabric bags feature the official cityscape graphic created for the Fashion's Night Out campaign. The reusable bag is made to last with its rip-stop nylon finish and electric blue lining. $5 from the sale of each tote will benefit The National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center.

Payless will also host late-night shopping events on September 10 as part of the Fashion's Night Out celebrations. Payless guest designers Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, and Patricia Field will appear at the stores on Lexington Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and Broadway in Soho respectively.

"Payless is thrilled to participate in New York City's Fashion's Night Out with an exciting program that is sure to help bring shoppers out on this special night," said LuAnn Via, CEO and president, of Payless.

Okay, I won't lie. I've never really been a woman on the Judith Leiber bandwagon. I went to one of her stores in Las Vegas and was literally dumbfounded by the prices and the bizarre array of multicolored crystals. But, since there's an exhibit of her designs not ten blocks from my home, I thought I'd give her line another look. 

Truthfully, I still don't really get what the fuss is about. Of course, my personal aesthetic is basically all black, denim and leather, so who's surprised? But this parrot really caught my eye. The striking red color and multicolored accents, I have to admit, are masterfully rendered. Even the markings around the parrots eyes are realistic, or at least as realistic as Swarovski can get.

The hard-shelled little purse isn't the height of practicality, but you can pretty much see that by looking at it. This is for a big night on a big town and almost nothing in between. The 7" handle drop ensures that this pretty birdie stays close at hand, which it really should with a $5,695 price tag. 

The gold leather lined interior is almost as opulent as the exterior, and well-arranged with a simple patch pocket. This is luxury at its most whimsical, coming soon to an opera house near you.

Hermes has the Jane Birkin-inspired Birkin. Marc Jacobs was so enamored with model Jessica Stam that he created the Stam bag. And now Michael Kors pays tribute to his Project Runway costar and fashion muse Heidi Klum with the Heidi Collection.

The range is just as chic and sophisticated as the German supermodel herself. The purses come in all shapes and sizes, from large shoulder bags and satchels to smaller clutches. The finishes too are varied, from glam metallics to more traditional textured leathers. While they may have their differences, the purses in the Heidi collection are united by common design elements including buckled details and gathered leather folds.

Though it's yet to hit the magazine racks, the Harper's Bazaar September issue will surely garner a few laughs thanks to its unique interview with Chanel big shot and ego-extraordinaire Karl Lagerfeld.

Any interview with Lagerfeld is sure to be a page-turner since this man has more quirks than you can count on both hands (who can forget the $1,000 Lagerfeld Steiff bear?). Well, now he's taking his insanity, I mean genius, a step further by adding a character to his repertoire of strange behavior.

For the interview with Bazaar, the infamous creative director and designer is stepping into the shoes of the original Chanel legend herself: Coco. With the recent Coco Avant Chanel craze, it's no surprise that fans of the label are craving more; I just wouldn't have expected Lagerfeld to fill in for her.

Though we have to wait until the magazine's release to be fully amused, Fashion Weed Daily has provided us with a short but hilarious snippet of the interview. Lagerfeld, as Coco Chanel, responds to questions about feminism, which he/she claims to never have been "ugly" enough for, Botox treatments, and Chanel fashion. Here's my favorite quote:

HB: What’s the new Chanel classic?
CC: As apparently my old jacket is still around, done by this idiot Karl, I have to help him find a new idea.

Lagerfeld talking about himself disparagingly in the third person. Now that's an article I have to read.

The Ava comes to us from Maxx New York's vintage collection which pays tribute to the stars of cinema’s golden age. Being named after Ava Gardner gives this satchel a lot to live up to, and I'm not quite sure it delivers.

I'd never imagine Ava settling for embossed PVC when she could have had genuine crocodile skin. I especially can't see her approving of such a poor imitation. The finish is just a little shiny to appear authentic, and the scales lack definition. But perhaps I shouldn't be so hard on the bag. While Ava enjoyed the excesses of Hollywood, we're living through a global recession. While she could afford thousands, this $168 is much more achievable for us.

While the finish has its flaws, the design comes closer to perfection. The curved lines of the front pocket, handles, and corner patches unify the style. It's very retro chic, yet it doesn't look dated. Those looks are backed up with a functional design. The ample interior space is kept organized with two zippered pockets and two open ones. Those curved handles are a little short for comfortable all-day carrying, but they're complemented by a detachable shoulder strap.

The dark color palette fits its 50s muse, but I wish Maxx New York had offered a more contemporary version. There's nothing wrong with basic black or brown, but this bold design would really suit a more colourful alternative.
