You just can't keep the queen down. She may have been dumped by Louis Vuitton for the much younger Lara Stone and Daisy Lowe, but Madonna's already found another modeling gig. The Material Mom will front Dolce & Gabbana's spring/summer 2010 campaign.

Acclaimed photographer Steven Klein shot the ads in New York last week, and the designers say they're thrilled with the "simply beautiful" images of Madge.

"To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true," designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana added.

This isn't the first time the talented trio has worked together. D&G were behind the costumes Madonna used for her Girlie Show in 2003 and last year's Sticky & Sweet tour. I don't expect anything quite so outrageous for Dolce & Gabbana's next collection; the fashions have to be worn by mere mortals after all. Yet Dolce & Gabbana has a habit of surprising us, so you just never know!

The news buzzing around Louis Vuitton's future advertising campaigns right now is that Madonna is out to make way for some fresh faces. The European style pre-fall starring with Missy Rayder were a hint of this change in direction, but the recently confirmed faces of the luxury brand are even more of a shift.

Following in some famous footsteps including Madonna, Naomi Campbell, and other recognizable faces is edgy new "it" model Lara Stone. The Dutch beauty is set to star in the label's upcoming spring/summer 2010 campaign.

Stone isn't the only hip, twenty-something model chosen by Louis Vuitton, however. Young but experienced Daisy Lowe will also star in upcoming ads for the brand. The previous face of Marc by Marc Jacobs will be starring in a sexy shoot showcasing LV's ready-to-wear spring/summer 2010 beachwear range that will also include shoes, bags, and accessories.

Though there's no word yet on particular themes for the upcoming photo shoots, both are guaranteed to be interesting and possibly provide a much-needed infusion of excitement for Louis Vuitton.

This Betsey Johnson Painted Python purse is totally on trend and of the moment. Just don't expect to pull it out next season.

While it suits the current taste for all things 1980s, the fluorescent snakeskin tones are just too vibrant to appeal for too long. Right now though, I love the way the orange and pink hues clash with neutral black and white. The angular zips trimmed in thick black PVC only add to its retro charm. I can imagine Madonna carrying this when she burst onto the music scene.

Wristlets are never large, but this one is a bit bigger than most. That should appeal to girls who want to carry around more than simply small change. You can keep your coins in the zippered pocket, separated from your lip gloss, cell phone, and other girly goodies. The detachable wrist strap is another practical touch, allowing the purse to convert from a wristlet to traditional clutch with ease.

It may not have a longstanding appeal, but at just $54 at least this won't cost you the earth. And unlike the totes and hobos featuring the same color scheme, this wristlet is small enough to hide away in a larger purse once the fad has passed.

Baby Phat is never a brand that does things by halves. Accessories like this Mystical Mirror bag may be a little ostentatious for many bagistas, but fans of Kimora Lee Simmons' blingtastic label are sure to lap it up.

I'm not sure whether you could use this silvery satchel to touch up your cosmetics, but it's the metallic finish which gives the Mystical Mirror its name. Silver synthetic doesn't need any more accents, but of course Kimora Lee includes them anyway. The signature kitty cat logo is surrounded by a plethora of rhinestones. Add a smattering of tiny silver studs and tasseled zipper pulls and you've got one very busy look.

It's a shame, because the interior delivers everything I'd want in an everyday satchel. Sure, I'd probably need sunglasses to look at the hot pink lining, but it's also kind of fun. But I'm more interested in all that space and the zip and slip pockets for keeping precious cargo organized.

This is the kind of handbag you'll either love or hate. It's not my cup of chai, but I'm sure plenty of purse lovers will adore its big, brash, style.

You never know quite what you're going to get with Louis Vuitton. Recent ads have featured pop queen Madonna and veteran astronauts. This time around the luxury label is back to fashion basics with a campaign fronted by model Missy Rider. Her steel blue gloved hands clutch a casual drawstring bag which bears Louis Vuitton's iconic signature print.

Former Louis Vuitton visionary, now Nina Ricci creative director, Peter Copping was inspired to create this vintage spread after reading a book about Paris during the Second World War. The look is very European, suitably sombre, and utterly elegant. The deep, rich tones are entirely appropriate for the cooler weather ahead.

The campaign's feminine retro-chic images were captured by photographer Daniel Jackson, who worked closely with Louis Vuitton's creative director William Snieg and stylist Katie Grand of Love magazine on the shots. The result manages to be a little different, yet unmistakably Louis Vuitton.

Design doesn't have to mean complicated structures and innovative shapes. Sometimes, as we see with classics such as Chanel or Oscar de la Renta, the timeless shapes and quality materials can speak for themselves.

At first glance I was taken aback by the simplicity and elegant lines of this rectangular purse. With no embellishment other than the patent color, this Lodis Padova clutch relies entirely on the clear quality of its materials, and the sharp smooth neat metal frame. If you like bits and pieces with your handbags, you may feel underwhelmed with this purse - but the mastery of its craftsmanship should speak for itself!

The two colors of this designer purse, aubergine and fuchsia, are great examples of bold colors looking dramatically classy. Even the pink, generally out of place at upmarket dos, would look very at home. Add to this a glimmering sheen of patent leather, and you have a very impressive little bag!

Don't expect much room with a structured purse like this - the space is so tight that you would even struggle to carry that must vital of belongings, the mobile phone. If you treat the clutch as a wallet, however, it will have all the organization you need, with spaces for money, business cards and all those scraps of paper us girls seem intent on collecting!

All in all, I struggle to have anything negative to say about this Lodis beauty. Even the lack of handle, with such a slender purse, can be recovered from. Oh dear - I have fallen in love!

People might be making a lot of cutbacks and tightening the proverbial belt as of late, but it doesn't appear to be slowing down fashion designer label Louis Vuitton.

This powerhouse of a brand has continued plugging along and bringing in the sales. Perhaps they aren't as outrageous as past numbers, but LV actually scraped together a 7 percent profit in same-store sales, specifically on fashion and leather goods.

That's impressive considering that some companies like Christian Lacroix are on the edge of disaster and near liquidiation without financial backing. Even the chief of Louis Vuitton's umbrella company, LVMH, is impressed by the numbers calling it "particularly remarkable given the global economic crisis."

I guess it doesn't hurt sales to have fashion geniuses like Marc Jacobs and celebrities like Madonna working for you.

In contrast to Prada's shimmery, neutral-toned spring/summer ads, the label's fall/winter campaign takes a turn down a much more dramatic path.

Their new "black water" ads for this upcoming season are full of dark colors, looks, and ambiance. Evidently the campaign is meant to evoke the weather of the fall and winter seasons, and the cold stares of the models certainly seem to accomplish that.

Prada's favored photographer Steven Meisel was back for the shoot, despite what I can only assume is an extremely busy schedule. Meisel has been hard at work with other campaigns including Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton's fall ads.

The full roster of models featured in the campaign, looking a bit to me like quintuplets with matching smokey eyes and overly teased hair, are Kendra Spears, Anna Rijk, Julia Hafstrom, Ymre Stiekema, and Kaitlin Aas. Quite frankly, all I can see in these ads is the gorgeous Prada handbags and clothing, which is how an ad should be anyway.

Get ready, folks. A new collection of crazy expensive luxury handbags are scheduled to hit runways and stores sometime in the future.

Long-established but recently rejuvenated label Balmain is stepping into the wide world of accessories with a new venture involving handbags. Past collections from the infamously pricey ready-to-wear brand have included $3,000 t-shirts and $22,000 dresses. One can only guess the sort of price range their handbags will have.

So far, rumor has it that the label has given a few Paris retailers a sneak peek of pre-collections that include leather bags clustered with studs and crystals. This sounds fairly consistent with Balmain's tough-luxe image.

I think we can safely assume that these new handbags will carry with them price tags with more than a couple of zeros on them.  It seems like a strange time for a fashion brand to delve into overpriced accessories, but maybe Balmain knows something about the economy that we don't.

Crystal Studded Handbags on eBay

They say one man's trash is another's treasure, but it's almost certain that the person who donated a Betty Boop purse to a Goodwill store in Kettering didn't realize the rare gem they were giving up.

The jewel-encrusted minaudiere was one of only 2,500 handcrafted by Kathrine Baumann Beverly Hills. The designer is a favorite with stylish celebs including Madonna, Cher, Jennifer Aniston, and Brooke Shields.

"Someone recognized right away that this purse was very unique," said Mari Jo Sellers, marketing/communications specialist for Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley. "We have a process whereby anything deemed valuable or collectable is sent to headquarters and processed there. Most of those items go to shopgoodwill.com but because the purse had a collector’s number on it, we decided to harness the power of eBay."

It's anyone's guess how much this limited edition purse will fetch, as the designer's regular accessories ordinarily cost thousands. If you'd like to add it to your collection though, click here to find it on eBay. But be quick, there's only a little over a week to get your bids in!
