Claudia Schiffer's modeling career is still in full swing with advertising campaigns for Salvatore Ferragamo and Chanel, but that's not stopping her from venturing into a new branch of her fashion career.

After years of showcasing other designers' goods, Schiffer recently revealed an interest in launching her own fashion brand. She certainly wouldn't be the first supermodel to try her hand at designing, following in the successful footsteps of Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson.

The 39-year old beauty is reportedly considering including handbags and some sort of cashmere apparel in her new line and is looking for business partners to support the venture. Schiffer recently stated, however, that the most important part of the process is keeping the products meaningful to her:

"I want the brand to be timeless and classic, with a fashion sensibility ... Consumers are not stupid. They do understand if you don't believe in your product," she said.

Don't think that creating handbags and cashmere are going to keep her from posing for the camera, though. This is one supermodel who has no plans to quit her day job any time soon.

Pamela Anderson seems like an odd choice for a designer label ad campaign. When other brands are showing off their products on the waif-like bodies of supermodels like Kate Moss and Raquel Zimmerman, Vivienne Westwood is opting for busty and brassy with Anderson.

This actually isn't the first time that the Baywatch babe has collaborated with the edgy designer, though. Pamela showed up in Westwood's ads last season and even walked one of her runway shows, to the surprise of Fashion Week attendees earlier this year.

In the designer's Gold Label ad campaign for this fall/winter season, the voluptuous blonde poses with Vivienne and Vivienne's much-younger husband Andreas Kronthaler. The look is both raw and unstructured and even kind of random.

I'm not sure what the purpose or vision is supposed to be, but at least we get a great view of some Gold Label handbags in the front of this one. They might not be on full display due to the busy stuff going on around them, but I can spy a few nice shapes and details.

I've come to expect anything from retro to rocker to downright kooky from Betsey Johnson. When she's not talking to the media about her desire to retire, this popular designer is busy creating styles to fit a variety of tastes.

Edgy rock-and-roll is definitely a look we've seen from Betsey Johnson before in bags like the Rock Star hobo. Although I generally like the vibe that a few well-placed, rocker-inspired studs bring to a bag, this Made In The Fade satchel seems more like the real thing.

The handbag's lightly weathered leather material adds the perfect touch of nonchalant attitude to a somewhat traditional silhouette. The only obvious addition of rock-and-roll is the tiniest row of black studs on each of the handles' decorative buckles, as if to remind us what style it is exuding.

In addition to the kind of edgy style that Kate Moss would probably wear, the Made In The Fade bag also has a hint of bohemian flair with its hanging tassel detail and perforated leather strips. It might not be dripping with fringe or made from crocheted bamboo, but I think it would still appeal to boho-chic women.

The Betsey Johnson Made In The Fade collection also comes in a bucket bag style or tote. This large satchel retails for $295.

Despite the fact that she recently reached her mid-thirties, ubiquitous and highly demanded supermodel Kate Moss seems a very appropriate choice for Roberto Cavalli's junior line Just Cavalli ads. Plus, it seems that age isn't holding back any well-known models from landing major designer campaigns.

Moss appears yet again in the Just Cavalli fall/winter advertisements and is joined this time by male model Chris Duffy. I'm somewhat drawn to the overall party atmosphere that the stylist was obviously intending to communicate. I hardly even notice Duffy in the back with Kate's dominating air. In fact, he's pretty much an afterthought here.

The real star of the show, however, is the fashion, which takes the stage front and center despite the supermodels overwhelming presence. I certainly don't think retro when I think of the Just Cavalli line, but this sequined mini dress and twisted-front clutch bag certainly throw off that vibe. Maybe it's just Kate Moss' Brigitte Bardot hair and makeup styling that makes me think of that, though.

The posing might be a little awkward (especially the positioning of that purple clutch), but at least the fashion items look great.

The British sisters behind Angel Jackson are bringing their distinctive handbags and matching belts to the United States. It's a move that's sure to please fashionistas on the lookout for something different and the brand's legions of celebrity admirers.

Here's surprising twist for a Miu Miu ad campaign: there are no celebrities involved. I'm a little shocked, to by quite honest.

Considering that the label has previously pulled in the likes of Katie Holmes, Kirsten Dunst, and Lindsay Lohan, it's quite unexpected to see Prada's little sister showcasing actual career models in their ads. However, they have indeed chosen models to flaunt their latest fall/winter items.

Don't look for Kate Moss or Natalia Vodianova in these ads, however. The fresh faces of the autumn 09 campaign include Hannah Holman, Mimmi Söderström, and Ilda Lundqvist.

Fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott went with a minimalist design for Miu Miu. Without tabloid-heavy celebs and with a very muted color palette, these ads really highlight the exquisite textures of Miu Miu's fall/winter collection. Just check out that tweed coat and gorgeous studded handbag.

Kate Moss is now newcomer to Longchamp ad campaigns. Previously starring with Sasha Pivovarova in the spring/summer "Bobbsey twins" ads, the supermodel is back at it again for the label's upcoming fall and winter fashion.

In the newest ads, Moss, Canadian model Daria Werbowy, and a few naval-bedecked male models show off the new Longchamp Gatsby handbag. The Gatsby is full of vintage style with a slightly 1940s feminine feel, hence the retro styling of Moss in this ad pictured here.

If I'm going to be completely honest, though, it took me several seconds to even notice the Gatsby in the photo. I mean, are we even supposed to notice it? How on earth is Longchamp calling this an ad for the satchel when it's practically tossed in the back corner in the shadowed arms of one of the "officers"? At least in Emma Watson's Burberry ads, you couldn't help but notice the giant satchels in her arms.

Of course, a gorgeous supermodel is always the main draw for a fashion ad. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Longchamp is going to highlight her as much as possible. At least we get to see a bit more of the handbag in this second photo featuring Moss, Werbowy, and the Gatsby together.

It's a great bag and an eyecatching set of photos, even if the merchandise isn't front and center.

Hermione Granger is all grown up now. Emma Watson, of Harry Potter movie fame, is the star of Burberry's most current advertising campaign.

When I first heard the rumors of the starlet appearing in the ads, I wasn't sure what to expect of her following in the footsteps of previous Burberry fashion models like Kate Moss and Lily Donaldson. Well, I was pleasantly surprised and even a little taken aback by this young actress' work for the campaign.

Let me just say that this girl knows how to work a camera. With some dramatic eye make-up and a few pouty-lipped male co-stars, Watson has transformed from pretty 19-year old gal to gorgeous fashion icon.

Of course, she's had a little experience in the modeling department, even having a personal session with Karl Lagerfeld for a recent photo shoot. It's not that I didn't think she'd do a nice job for Burberry. I just didn't expect such a lovely, mature look from her. She brings both youthfulness and class to the brand at the same time.

Some of the fall/winter Burberry handbags in the ads nearly take over Watson's small frame, though. I guess the oversize trend isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Click here to see more of the campaign.

The summer 2009 Kate Moss for Topshop collection launches in stores today, and so I thought it fitting to feature the only handbag in the collection, the Nouveau Liberty Print Bag. It's a great piece to jump-start your Memorial Day shopping, be it online or in-store for lucky New Yorkers with their own new US Topshop.

The main draw of the bag is the print Moss collaborated on with ever-so-popular Liberty fabrics. It's also used for a babydoll-silhouette sundress in this collection. The navy blue, teal, red and green color combination isn't the easiest to work into a wardrobe, but I predict many ladies purchasing outfits around this piece.

The handbag would make a great tote, shopper or beach bag as it is 100% cotton and appears to have comfortably-long shoulder straps. Speaking of the straps, they nicely segment the print and keep it from becoming too overwhelming. Contrast seaming at the top of the bag and on the front flap pocket add to this affect.

It's hard to find a cotton tote that isn't too preppy and looks more high fashion. This will surely be a must-have for those searching for just such a thing. $100 is a lot for a cotton tote, but the Kate Moss collection should be collectible for years to come.

For a designer without any formal training, Consuelo Castiglioni has quite a following. Fans of her increasingly popular label Marni include some of fashion's top names.

A few of these famous fans gathered in New York's Upper East Side a few days ago to christen a new addition to the Marni store family. Despite a previous night of partying at the Costume Intitute Gala, some of Castiglioni's faithful followers, like stylist (and soon to be designer) Rachel Zoe, up-and-coming designer Thakoon, and the always classy Vera Wang, attended the store's opening to show their support.

Guests were, no doubt, prepared for some fabulous shopping and champagne, and they were not disappointed. The posh, uptown surroundings of the techno beaux arts-designed location is as good an atmosphere as any for a chic designer boutique.
