Coach head back to its basic but luxurious roots with this traditional heritage tote.

Whilst Coach is known mainly for its patchwork purses, but I think its signature patterned satchel totes are actually some of the label's classiest creations. The brand isn't pushing the boundaries of fashion, but it is creating modern formal bags perfect for both work and play.

This purse in particular seems a cut above the rest. It has a slightly privileged feel, and wouldn't look out of place at a country club tennis match. Whilst the lemonade is being supped and the weddings arranged, smart bag owners are able to enjoy both the stunning coordinating blue satin lining and the cute Coach logo on the front.

There isn't much to say about this Coach tote. All in all it is a largely inoffensive but functional bag, with plenty of useful but flashy touches, such as the little name tags and the reinforced corners on the base. You may not make anyone pass out with desire over the innovative design, but its waterproof exterior will definitely do you proud.

This isn't the first Julianne to hit the pages of BagBunch, but it's definitely my favorite. While the Madison leather version of the style is probably the more classic option of the two, the Coach's Op Art fabric option is just too pretty to resist.

I can't possibly call this sateen material practical by any definition of the adjective. An all-white handbag is hardly anything but a decorative accessory. However, it's one that is sure to make a statement.

As with any of the brand's logo-printed bags, this Julianne satchel is easily identifiable as a Coach. Its signature hardware on the front and the serial number printed inside identify the handbag as authentic.

The Op Art Julianne has at least one convenient feature. In addition to the double leather handles with a decent drop length, this tote has a detachable shoulder strap that allows you to carry it across the body as well. I suppose beauty can be at least a little practical sometimes.

The Coach Leather Julianne, part of the new Madison line, is designed to up the ante on Coach's signature traditional styles. Inspired by the energy and vibrant styles of Madison Avenue, the collection combines colorful variety with classic good looks. The imaginative color offerings, like magenta and teal, really stand out from Coach's many heavily-logoed, neutral palette designs. Of course, for those who can't do without the branding, there is the obvious, but not overly distracting Coach horse and carriage near the top of the bag.

The Julianne is made of lightweight Italian leather with a subtle sheen. The roomy 15" x 13" x 5" size means that you can carry more than just your daily essentials with ease, but it might get a little heavy to carry if filled to the brim. However, the versatility of the strap options is a big bonus. There are dual handles and a removable shoulder strap that can also be worn across the body. The zip-top closure is another welcome practical touch.

This bag is a good choice for the woman who wants a traditionally-shaped bag with the twist of bright color (although it is also available in basic black). The leather strap side details add interest and a little edge to the otherwise polished exterior. The shiny brass hardware provides contrast, and offsets the color of the bag beautifully.

The $458 retail price puts the Julianne in the reasonable range for everyday bags, but on the high end for trend, which makes the color choice a crucial one. The magenta makes the bag bright and modern, but the black is a more conservative option. Either way, the Julianne is sure to become a standard on its namesake Madison Avenue!
