Louis Vuitton Donates Online Sales to American Red Cross Charity

The upcoming celebrity designer auction is just the start of Louis Vuitton's fundraising commitment to the American Red Cross. The luxury design house will donate 10% of this month's online sales of selected bags to the charity.

The fundraising drive commemorates the 150th anniversary of Louis Vuitton's Asnieres workshop. This location was the label's only production facility from 1859 to 1977. So many years later, Louis Vuitton's hard-frame luggage, special orders, exotic purses, and limited-edition lines are still crafted there today.

Donating to American Red Cross was a simple choice for the company's North American president, Daniel Lalonde.

"The Red Cross is committed to preventing and appeasing the sufferance of people weakened by instability and ever-growing de-humanization of our society. Louis Vuitton is honored to be aligned with such a significant and impactful organization," he said.

Bag lovers can do their bit by snapping up the brand's iconic Keepall, Speedy, Noe, or Alma purses. If you have ever considered buying one of these timeless styles, now's the time to do it!

Hobo International Lori Clutch | Simple Black Leather Bag with Asymmetrical Design

Leave it to Hobo International to take an asymmetrical design element and make it seem commonplace. Although this uniquely shaped Lori clutch isn't as unpredictable as other asymmetrical purses, there's a very chic simplicity to the style.

I actually think it's a fantastic blend of contemporary aesthetic and a classic look. Hobo International could have just added a straight-across front flap or even an envelope flap, as the brand has done many times already.

However, the angled detail is a nice twist on the ordinary, especially considering the other traditional aspects of the Lori. This clutch is black, made of leather, and slightly oversized for regular use. Frankly, if the bag didn't have the asymmetrical touch, I'd probably pass right over it.

The generous size makes it a good option for daytime as well as some semi-dressy outfits at other times of the day. In basic black, it looks sophisticated but stylish enough for any kind of modern gal on-the-go.

H&M Prepares for Jimmy Choo Mania on Collaboration Launch Day

Anticipation is reaching fever pitch as H&M prepares to launch its collaboration collection with Jimmy Choo. Most budget-conscious shoppers have November 14th circled in their calendar, but they'll need to follow some ground rules if they hope to bag a bargain.

The first 160 people at each H&M store will receive a wristband, which entitles them to shop for Jimmy Choo accessories at a specific time for the first two hours of the launch. The bracelet is only required for the shoes, handbags, and other accessories, so if you're hoping to snare menswear or women's apparel you can breathe a little easier.

Once those two hours elapse, these special designated areas will be open to the public. Of course, since demand is so high not even all wristband holders are guaranteed to get what they want.

H&M and Jimmy Choo are doing their best to meet the demand though by capping all purchases. You can only buy one of each product in each size. It's a great idea, which is sure to stem the eBay trade and give as many bargain hunters the chance of securing the goods.

However, with prices starting at a mere $69, don't expect these designer babies to last long no matter what measures are in place!

Jimmy Choo and Elton John Launch Photographic Competition | Win Designer Shoes and Handbags

Following the announcement of Jimmy Choo and Elton John's designer collaboration for AIDS initiative Project PEP, the fashionable pair has launched a photographic competition.

Your entry will need three things: you, your favorite shoe, and the number 72. The number is significant as Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) must be administered within 72 hours of exposure to the HIV virus.

The competition aims to raise awareness of the Project PEP initiative, which will raise funds for the Simelela Rape Center in Cape Town, South Africa. The center looks to administer rape victims with the vital PEP medication and provide medical, counseling, and legal support.

More than 100 lucky snappers will take home products from the Project PEP range, with the grand prize winner scoring seven pairs of shoes and two purses from Jimmy Choo. Many of the winning images will also be displayed at Project PEP's official launch at Selfridges London on October 29.

The online shop even reminds me of Net-A-Porter with its simple look and easy-to-navigate site.

Devi Kroell Python Roman Handbag | Large Shiny Dark Purple Snakeskin Shoulder Bag

Devi Kroell is the undisputed queen of the exotic. Her designs may not please PETA, but they're a favorite amongst fashion fans. It's not very politically correct, but it's hard to resist the charms of this Roman handbag.

The slouchy shape and casual styling is fairly traditional and tame. That allows the shiny snakeskin to take center stage. Each bag is painted by hand to ensure the colors are vibrant and long lasting. I love the rich, royal appearance of purple python, but it’s not for everyone. Thankfully the Roman is available in a range of colors in both python and eelskin.

We've also got some choices with the sizing. This large purse is on-trend, and ideal for making the transition from day to night. But if you're looking for something smaller, or less expensive, the Roman is also available in medium.

Girls downsizing don't miss out on the practical perks. Both sizes feature python leather cell pockets and iPod pouches. I'd appreciate a few more compartments, but when a bag looks so lovely I'm willing to forgive its shortcomings.

The bottom line is the price. Given that it's genuine hand-painted python leather, I know you're not expecting it to be cheap. $2,790 will never be considered small change, but it's not as daunting as I'd imagined!

Melie Bianco S9-96 Shoulder Bag | Purple Synthetic Leather Tote

I'm a little thrown off by the name of this Melie Bianco handbag. In a list of other style choices like the Franny, Ramona, and the descriptive Croco Envelope Bag, this technical sounding S9-96 Shoulder Bag seems a little out of place. However, the design is synonymous with the brand's classic and often designer-inspired look.

There aren't many frills on this shoulder bag, but the simple details make it something worth considering. Pretty contrast stitching around the entire handbag accentuates the shape and adds a little visual interest. I'm not always a fan of light stitching against a darker background or vice versa, but it's a nice touch on the S9-96.

The classic tote shape has been ramped up a bit with panels of gathered fabric on the front and bag of the purse. It's no shock that the material is not real leather since this shoulder bag only retails for $90, but the trendy lilac purple is enough of a stand-out to make up for the faux fabric. The fun satin polka dot lining, a signature twist from Melie Bianco, adds a little extra personality to the S9-96.

I can just imagine the preposterously long line outside of H&M on Saturday, November 14 when Jimmy Choo's much-anticipated collection for the retail store is released to the public. Yes, we are all practically salivating with the anticipation of getting our hands on the budget-friendly style from the renowned designer.

Although we don't know specific prices for these upcoming shoes, handbags, clothing, and jewelry designs, we do now have a peek at what to expect. Of course, I would've expected nothing less than fabulous from Jimmy Choo, whose designs have peppered red carpets for years now. However, the recently released lookbook of the Jimmy Choo for H&M line reveals items even better than I anticipated.

The sky-high stilettos, thigh high boots, faux fur jackets, oversized zebra-print clutches, and studded totes are just a few of the designs you can expect from the collection. The overall vibe of the line is dramatic, edgy, and, of course, oh-so fashionable.

Jimmy Choo Prepares to Release Affordable H&M Men’s Line

Tamara Mellon hasn't forgotten about fashion conscious men when creating Jimmy Choo's new collection for H&M.

The men's collection features a great selection of man bags, including suede duffel bags, leather travel bags, and stamped leather wallets. There are also t-shirts and blazers, and additional accessories such as boots and studded belts.

"We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too," founder and president of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon said. "Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!"

While the designs are coolly masculine, they'd definitely work for no-nonsense girls looking for an androgynous look.

The collection will hit 200 H&M stores worldwide on November 14.

Valentino Leopard Print Goat Hair Bag | Fierce And Luxurious Animal Print Hobo

When Valentino himself retired from designing his eponymous line, I was a little concerned. Who, after all, can replace an icon? The current designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, however worked under the man himself designing accessories, and their designs haven't disrupted the continuity of his legacy, at least in terms of accessories.

This Leopard Print Goat Hair bag is pure Valentino: strong, feminine, luxurious, and totally timeless. Let's be honest, if you're the kind of woman who's going to carry a leopard print goat skin bag, you always wil, trends be damned. Well congratulations, you're probably a style icon too.

This hobo is completely to die for. Except the giant leather bow detail, which, frankly, I think detracts from the pure animal magnetism of the bag itself. But the bow's only on one side, so you can just flip it around or have it removed. It isn't a dealbreaker, as far as I'm concerned.

The slim taupe leather handles give the bag great asymmetry, and their color goes well with the overall print. The generous size ensures that it will make a great everyday bag, but I seriously doubt that you'll be abandoning it for evening. Another bonus is the use of goat skin, which has all the luxurious texture of other stiff furs, without the over-the-top price tag.

Not that this bag is cheap. It's a designer bag at a designer price ($2,695), but well worth it for the amount of attention that it will draw.
