It's no surprise that celebrities are the best advertisements for fashion products. Of course, showcasing your items on an A-list star during awards season is easier said than done. Maybe the somewhat easier alternative is getting it on the small screen during primetime.

Elie Tahari has had its share of celebrity party sightings, but it seems to be making it even bigger on television. In recent episodes, more than a handful of Tahari outfits made their TV debut on popular shows like Desperate Housewives and fashion-conscious Ugly Betty.

It's no surprise then that Tahari's Aimee blouse popped up the other day on not one but two more highly-watched shows. Calista Flockhart was seen sporting the yellow top on Brothers & Sisters, and designer diva Blake Lively's character Serena van der Woodsen wore the Aimee blouse on Gossip Girl.

Though I'm sure many faithful fans of Brothers & Sisters noticed and appreciated the pretty top on Flockhart, I have a feeling it was the appearance on the always fashion-forward Gossip Girl that caused the Aimee to fly off Tahari's boutique shelves. After all, the show has been promoting designer clothing and accessories (like the Gucci Hysteria Python and Lady Dior Cannage) with success since the show's inception.

This could be just the beginning of Tahari's television love affair. Keep your eye out for some of their pieces on The Celebrity Apprentice. It's rumored that self-proclaimed fashionistas Joan and Melissa Rivers recently bought a few items from the designer's SoHo boutique for future episodes of the reality show.

The popular show Gossip Girl is a veritable hotbed of the latest fashions. It seems that any article of clothing or accessory that appears on one of the stylish characters practically flies off the shelves. Though the television show's wealthy, trendy gals usually carry the latest high-end designer bags like Lady Dior and Gucci's Hysteria, the average viewer rejoiced when they saw this reasonably priced Maxx New York tote pop up on the show one evening.

The Monte Carlo Shopper is relatively inexpensive (especially for the GG fashion world) at just under $150. The PVC material is most likely the reason for the low price tag. While not a typical handbag material, the Monte Carlo is practical and durable and will even satisfy animal lovers who dislike the use of leather.

I love the spectrum of bright colors offerred by this Maxx New York purse. The electric blue is a natural standout, but the Monte Carlo also comes in equally eyepopping shades of silver, gold, orange, and a standard black. Each color has a slight sheen that has the appearance of patent leather.

The interior is lined in polyester for a little extra practicality. You'll also find several pockets for organization. A zippered pocket on the front of the tote is convenient and cute, and studded panels on the sides are a nice touch. You don't have to be a fan of Gossip Girl to appreciate the practical design and stylish touches on the Maxx New York Monte Carlo.

Okay, I'll be honest. A lot of the bags in Gucci's Hysteria line did not, as promised, get my pulse racing. But this stunning python purse definitely has me hot and bothered. 

You might recognize it as one of the bags carried by the deliciously evil Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) on last season's Gossip Girl. I know I remember it, because Georgina and this bag brought the fashion consciousness of GG into a whole new stratosphere.

The round slouchiness of the bag perfectly showcases the naturally geometric appeal of the snakeskin. The combination of the sleek, simple 80's-inspired design and the python makes for luxurious look. The neat pleating adds volume and symmetry with the vertical striping of the snakeskin.

The color is rich and neutral. The subtle brown-to-black variations mean that this is an extremely versatile piece. It has a Dynasty-era bad girl appeal, but, given its sleek lines, I think it could work for more conservative types, as well.

The petite handle blends in so well with the shape of the bag that it is almost decorative. In case it is too impractical for you, there is also a removable shoulder strap, which is held to the bag with delicate gold side clasps. The large button detail reinforces the handles, and their roundness mimics the overall shape of the bag. 

At $3,000 retail, most of us won't be as lucky to own this number as Miss Georgina Sparks, but for an exotic skin designer bag, the price isn't actually unreasonable as an investment for women with a little extra change to spare. The rest of can just hope that when Georgina enjoys her much trumped-up reprise, so will the Gucci Hysteria Python Purse.
