The Aldo Greveinchianti may not be high-end fashion, but it's still a real showstopper.

This frothy concoction features a host of frilly ruffles embellished with tiny perforated holes. Yes it's over the top, but that's the whole point. That's why I prefer the purse is this lusty red shade rather than the more conservative white. It's also likely to hide its age better in the years to come.

And given the quality of the synthetic, it just might last long enough for you to see that benefit. You might expect a flimsy fabric for this cheap and cheerful price, but the synthetic here is of the heavy duty variety. It's still not as opulent as leather, but it's not a bad substitute.

The Greveinchianti retails for an affordable $50, but you can find it discounted online for as low as $7.98. What a steal for something so fun, frivolous and fabulous! It goes without saying that it won't suit the more reserved fashion fans out there, but it's definitely caught my eye.

Christian Dior Karenina Tote Bag | Large Black Framed Ruched Lambskin Handbag

The Lady Dior line may grab all the headlines, but for something a little different I'd opt for this Karenina Tote.

The lush aged lambskin falls in intricate pleats down the length of the bag. The leather is lovely, but that super-ruched appearance is sure to divide fashion fans. I suppose no one gets noticed without taking risks, right? At least Christian Dior keeps the branding to a minimum, with "CD" letter charms providing the only bit of bling. They still make the bag look a little cluttered for my tastes, so thankfully they're removable.

The head-turning design combines with the large interior to create a bag ready to transition from day to night. If only all that space was utilized. There's a large zippered envelope in the center, but I worry about the security of the open compartments either side. There are slip pockets for gadgets but, without clasps or closures to keep them safe, would you trust them with your cell? The natural impulse is to stuff everything inside the zippered pouch, which is a great shame. There's no point offering extra storage space if no one feels comfortable using it.

The handles are another practical drawback. Those short, rolled handles are very cute, but their appeal is sure to wear off when you've been lugging a full Karenina around the city for hours. A longer shoulder strap may have undermined the looks, but I'd be willing to sacrifice that style for comfort.

This framed tote has already become a favourite with style pioneers like Christina Aguilera, Denise Richards, and Sienna Miller. And at $2,450, they might be the only ones that can afford it!

Photographer Annie Leibovitz and Others Design for Louis Vuitton | Auction to Benefit the Red Cross

Famed fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz is stepping out from behind the lens for a new project. After years of capturing images for photo shoots and a recently publicized financial woes involving a Supreme Court lawsuit, Leibovitz is trying her hand at a different kind of fashion career: designing handbags.

The photographer, whose work with Vanity Fair and labels like Dior and Louis Vuitton is well-known, has joined British artist Damien Hirst, Marc Jacobs, and others for a special design project to create limited edition Louis Vuitton bags. Their designs will be auctioned off at Sotheby's in London on November 17. It's not for fame or fortune, however, since the auction will benefit the Red Cross in celebration of their 150th anniversary.

Leibovitz's design is a large monogrammed backpack trimmed in black leather with a matching shoulder bag. A photography equipment-holding backpack isn't exactly Louis Vuitton's typical product, but something tells me that no one is questioning the photographer-turned-designer's talent.

Sasha Pivovarova Wears Designer Paper Shopping Bags in New ‘W’ Magazine Editorial

I expected to see a few bags in this new Sasha Pivovarova editorial, but I certainly didn't expect her to be wearing them ... at least not on her body instead of her shoulder.

Who knew that paper bags could be so chic? Well, maybe chic isn't the right word, but W Magazine was definitely aiming for eye-catching when they concocted this bit of fashion photography. Sasha P's version of the "urban waif" for the Paper Bag Princess editorial is anything but festive, though.

Wearing torn and crinkled paper shopping bags from top designers and loitering in back alleys, the model might be channeling the truant look but doesn't quite make it there while draped in luxury goods. The paper bags, which are crafted into dresses, hats, and skirts for the shots, take a back seat to Armani and Dior clothes and accessories.

I'm not sure what kind of statement is supposed to be made here, but I suppose we're just meant to appreciate the beauty of the photography and the designer merchandise on display. One can only wish to have the goods in one of their very own paper bags straight from the store.

Victoria Beckham Latest Celebrity to Design Handbag Line

Victoria Beckham plans to expand her VB fashion line, with handbags next on the agenda. She reportedly hopes the endeavor will take her brand to the top-end of the accessories markets.

"Victoria is looking for designers from the top houses to help her put together a high end collection that will rival her favorite brands, like Louis Vuitton and Dior," a source claims. "She wants the range to be classic but contemporary, and she's interviewing designers she wants to work with personally."

Vicks has certainly got an eye for high-end fashion, with a collection of Hermes Birkins reportedly worth £1.5million. And that's not to mention all her other arm candy!

But I have to wonder where Mrs Beckham finds the time! Between being a supportive soccer wife, mother of three, occasional singer, and sometimes American Idol judge, she's one busy lady! Hopefully she'll find a moment to give this handbag business a real go, rather than simply slapping her name on the finished product.

Christian Dior Gypsy Ruffles Hobo Bag | Pretty Frilled Leather Purse

Love it or hate it: the Gypsy Ruffles handbag by Christian Dior makes a big impression.

The soft calfskin ruffles that encircle the bag are sure to polarize fashion fans. Girly girls and hippie chicks will probably love the perforated frill, while no-nonsense bagistas will scorn its unabashed femininity. This red shade certainly makes the most of that divisive design, but other shades including mustard and basic black tone it down.

I don't mind the frill, but the Dior letter charms which dangle from the handle overcomplicate the design. Making them removable, as so many other brands do, would have satisfied label lovers and minimalist mamas alike.

Open up the top zip to reveal a space which strikes the right balance. There's room for the essentials and a few luxuries besides, but it's not so big that you'll feel weighed down. That's a good thing too, because the double wrapped strap doesn't look like the most comfortable carry handle!

This is a hobo that embraces its bohemian roots and its girly side in equal measures. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it's bound to excite many feminine fashionistas.

Marion Cotillard Returns for Christian Dior’s Lady Dior Fall Advertising Campaign

Stunning French actress Marion Cotillard made such a splash in Christian Dior's Lady Dior spring advertisements, she's back again for fall.

This time around the glamorous globetrotter has left Paris for another fashion capital: New York. Iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz captured this image of Marion and a slouchy Lady Dior quilted purse. Marion's face is the mirror seems to suggest that double life we saw in Christian Dior's short film, The Lady Noire Affair.

These ads will grace fashion mags in August before being plastered about Paris during October's Fashion Week. The exposure's sure to be massive, which makes me long for something a little more striking.

The Paris ads, with Marion perched atop the Eiffel Tower, were so dramatic. This time around Marion and the Christian Dior handbag are equally gorgeous, yet the ad itself still looks a little pedestrian in comparison!

Thankfully it's only the first commercial in the series, so I'm hoping for something better to come.

First of all, this is the most ladylike take on the hobo shape that I have ever seen. This bag has none of the slouchiness of your average hobo, which can look a little sloppy. And it has a flat base, so it can stand up all on its own, so to speak.

The trademark quilted Cannage pattern looks fabulous in patent, as it really brings out the stitch detail. The combination of the modern hobo shape, the traditional Cannage quilting, and the sleek patent leather make for a very versatile accessory. I can see this bag working with a business suit, a preppy pretty frock, or even with a rocker look.
