Candy Wrapper Bag

This bag was made from candy wrappers that would have ended up in the landfill, which makes it not only super cute, but eco-friendly as well. It reminds us of the Capri Sun bag, but in a cute, pocket-sized coin purse version. It looks like there are many kinds of candy wrappers to satisfy everyone's preferences, and there are fun colors to boot!

Saddle Bag

This may possibly be the only saddle bag any woman wants. It's great for showing off a western flair and the perfect bag for true cowgirls. It also looks durable, which is definitely a plus. We just want to know how much it stores and how you carry it. Maybe you can just hold it by the horn. And don't we all wish it came with a free pony attached?

CovetShop.com Offers Online Consignment for Designer Handbags, Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories

Posted on: Oct 7

We've all heard of the clever Avelle site (originally known as Bag Borrow or Steal) that lends out designer goods for a pretty penny, but there are plenty of other websites out there to help a budget fashionista keep to her financial goals without sacrificing style.

Now there's a new kid in town ready to relieve shoppers of their designer items and sell them online for consignment. CovetShop.com is a rather brilliant, though not totally original, business model that guarantees 100% authenticity as well as the nearly perfect condition of the items they consign. The online shop even reminds me of Net-A-Porter with its simple look and easy-to-navigate site.

If you've got a few Jimmy Choos, Louis Vuitton bags, and Chloe designs lying around that you'd like to get some cash for, you might consider Covet Shop's consign online program. It's a basic process where you they authenticate, photograph, and post your item to sell. There are subsequent markdowns on each item after 30 and 60 days. Once sold, however, the company will pay you 60% of the final selling price.

If you're in New York City, you can simply contact Covet Shop for an appointment to discuss your designer bags, shoes, clothing, or accessories. If not in NYC, those wishing to consign can just e-mail the company with their information. Be sure to read Covet Shop's full description of their consignment process.

Send in those past designs just gathering dust on the shelf to get some cash to upgrade for the new season.

Chloe Elsie Shoulder Bag | Sophisticated Uptown Metallic Check Shoulder Bag With Chain Straps

Posted on: Sep 28

48400 in dlChloe's fall line has thus far disappointed me. But, perhaps it's due to my own expectations. I don't really associate Chloe with a neutral color palette or uptown styling, but that seems to be what the label's up to lately.

This opulent gold take on a classic look is very Blair Waldorf. It isn't even close to my style, but I think it's one of the most perfect ultra-preppy accessories I've seen in a long time.

The shape is feminine and refined, and the size is big enough to carry what you might need in a day, but still small enough to look dainty. The huge gold turnlock fastening adds the perfect amount of bling to the front of the bag, and the chain straps add to the delicate, sweet look.

This would be a great office bag for an uptown girl, or even a downtown girl who wants to add a touch of refinement to her wardrobe.

More Features Of The Chloe Elsie Shoulder Bag

  • 10" x 7" x 4" size
  • 11" strap drop
  • Nude leather lining
  • Internal logo-embossed pocket

Chloe Polka Dots Bag | Playful Bow Embellished Khaki Leather Shoulder Bag

Posted on: Sep 27

48544 in lChloe is usually one of my tip-top favorite lines. But, lately, I just haven't been blown away from what it has to offer. Maybe I'm missing something, but personally, I think its fall line of accessories is, well, missing something.

Bags like this are exactly what I'm talking about. Am I crazy, or does this bag have a scarf? Does it need a scarf? Does it even look good? I'm not so sure.

The bag itself is fine, I guess, but for $1,405, I want more than fine. The color is a little drab, and without the bow, the bag is just plain and not a little boring.

I do like the unusually-shaped hardware, though, that connects the straps to the bag. And I'm all for a minimal style; I just think this one takes minimal a little far.

More Features Of The Chloe Polka Dots Bag

  • 8" x 7" x 1" size
  • 18" handle drop
  • Lined in nude leather
  • Magnetic fastening

Net-A-Porter’s Newest Bag Guide Sorts through New Trends and Styles in Handbag Shopping

Posted on: Sep 27

Net-A-Porter has its newest edition of The Bag Guide out, and it breaks down the various style options we shoppers have for updating our handbag collections for the fall season.

The style categories on the list cover quite a range of looks, from classic leopard print and the "anytime-everywhere bag" to the "forever bag," which functions as both purse and work of art. The overarching theme of all twelve looks, however, is making a statement. It's a trend seen at recent runways shows as well, such as Versace's Alice in Wonderland-inspired collection.

As always, there are familiar designer names on Net-A-Porter's list. Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and Bottega Veneta all made the cut with their stunning handbags. There's even a special appearance by Marni's Mini Balloon, which made the cut as the ideal "off-duty" bag. My personal favorites are the Bottega Veneta Karung satchel and the Yves Saint Laurent leopard-print Muse Two (seen above), both definitely statement makers.

Check out all twelve looks in Net-A-Porter's guide and get a head start in updating your fall and winter wardrobe.

See By Chloé Joy Rider Oversized Shoulder Bag | Futuristic Metallic Blue Padded Nylon Carryall

Posted on: Sep 11

Chloé is one of my favorite lines. It always seems to come up with something totally unique and chic. Unfortunately, this Joy Rider tote doesn't bear any resemblance to the Chloé I've come to know and love.

The puffy metallic nylon and the generally slouchy design of the bag make it look almost completely shapeless. That, in combination with the fluffy lamb keyring (which, thank God, is detachable), makes it look like an oversized child's lunchbox.

I think this bag will mostly appeal to teenage ravers. In 1995. It's seriously that ridiculous. But throw it together with some baggy jeans, a baby tee, and oh, I don't know, a candy pacifier, and you basically have the perfect throwback costume.

On the plus side, it's only $195, so if you're super desperate for a designer bag, then this one is quite affordable. Frankly, I'm not even sure I would use it as a gym bag. If only it weren't this ostentatious color, I think it could be salvaged as a tote, but in blue, eww.

Since I really can't think of anything nice to say about this bag, I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Win Designer Purses from Handbag.com during Handbag Month Giveaway

Posted on: Sep 9

Handbag.com is doing more than collaborating with Cancer Research UK for their Handbag Amnesty program to fund breast cancer research in the United Kingdom. On a less solemn note, they're bringing designer fashion to the masses.

The website is giving away one gorgeous purse every day during the month of September. That's thirty chances to win one (well, a few less now that we're already mid-month). Today's giveaway was a pretty purple D&G bowler bag, but that's just the beginning. They've also got designs by Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, Chloe, Lauren Merkin, and other favorites you see on BagBunch.

You've still got plenty of chances to win one of your very own handbags. The website will select winners each morning and set the next prize on display. Be sure to read the fine print, though. Handbag.com's competitions are only open to UK residents who are at least 18 or older.

Chloé Kira Leather Bowling Bag | Luxurious Sporty Black Bowler With Gold Chain Details

Posted on: Sep 2

The luxury handbags this season are predominantly black, leather, and have some sort of stud or chain embellishment. Partly this is due to a resurgence of 90's styles - think Chanel Cavier bags with chain straps - and partly due to the fact that this season's runway styles are also predominantly black, and pretty edgy. Which makes this Chloé bowling bag very of the moment.

But, besides looking great with the rest of fall fashion, the Kira has an air of timelessness. I mean, really, when is black NOT in style? What interests me about this bag is that it's an edgy, luxurious take on a sporty classic. When I think of bowling bags, I think bright colors and, inevitably, stripes. Well, this bag borrows the bowling shape and makes it wearable for us less athletic types.

Wearable, and also practical. The huge size is actually big enough to hold a bowling ball, or basically anything else you might want to carry. The reinforced bottom means that, despite the suppleness of the leather, it won't fall apart easily. The interior contains a zipper pocket, but that's about it, and given its size, I wish it had more organizational options.

Looks-wise, the Kira is sleek and contemporary. But, it's a little biggish for the shape, and I'm afraid that it might get awkward to carry when full. Also, the removable shoulder strap is super skinny, which looks great, but doesn't bode well for your aching shoulders.

All in all, I like the Kira, but I don't love it. It looks good, and strikes a good balance between sleek and sassy, but for me it just doesn't make a bold enough statement.

  • Olive canvas lined interior
  • Top zip to close
  • Side locking mechanisms

See by Chloé Doggy Tote | Hot Pink Designer Canvas Carryall With Quirky Print

Posted on: Aug 23

I thought for sure that we were beginning to see the last of the neon color craze, but then I found this brand new canvas tote by Chloé. See by Chloé's offerings are usually on the very edge of mass market trends, but this time they may be just a minute too late.

Not that a color should necessarily be relegated to trend fodder, but let's be honest. Since neons were everywhere in 2008, I can't help but think "last year" when I look at this. The graphic is quirky and cute, but the black on hot pink punk lite print only enhances its past tense appearance.

It does satisfy my personal requirement that a tote cost less than $100, but you'll find it for sale for as high as $145, so be aware. It really shouldn't cost that much, considering that it is unlined and contains no interior pockets or any other organizational features.

Also on my list of complaints is the horribly tacky chain hanging from the printed dog's neck. It really looks like an accessory made for children. If it was made for little ones I might feel differently about it. The cutesy color and quirky details would all make a little more sense. But for grown women with the pocket change to fund a hundred dollar carryall? I don't think so.

More Features Of The See by Chloé Doggy Tote

  • 16" x 12" x 5" size
  • 10" handle drop
  • Includes protective fabric cover for the chain

Tepper Jackson Reversible Tote | Two Ways Convertible Casual Canvas Handbag

Posted on: Aug 21

The global economic crisis has got us all thinking about where our cash is going, or at least how we'll justify that latest handbag splurge to the man in our life. Tepper Jackson has your line of defense sorted with this reversible tote.

The $120 price tag doesn't just buy you one handbag; it gets you two distinct looks. This way it's calm and casual, with a cute circle emblem and colored stripe around the base the natural canvas' only accents. But turn it inside out for a look that screams a little louder. Wide vertical stripes are jazzed up with vibrant circles. The geometric design is modern yet not so outlandish that you'll hesitate to carry it after a few seasons.

The reversible style does up your options, but security suffers as a result. It'd be hard to find a clasp to work both ways, so Tepper Jackson just doesn't include one. That makes access easy, for both you and passing pickpockets! A zippered pocket would have been a welcome addition, and a simple fix.

Security concerns aside, this is a contemporary casual choice from Tepper Jackson that's twice the fun!

More Features of This Tepper Jackson Canvas Tote

  • Two slip pockets
  • Dual handles with a 7 inch drop
  • Measures 13 x 13 inches
  • Made in China
  • Available in orange, pink, blue, and brown
