Alexander Wang has proven himself to be the designer to watch with celebrity favorites like the Brenda and Coco. Now with the Betty, he's showing a more sophisticated side.

Black leather is still Alexander's fabric of choice, but it's got a more elegant feel here. The styling is a lot simpler than we're used to, but the lush texture of buffalo hide saves it from being boring. Alexander Wang loves rock and roll zip and studs, but he's used a little more restraint in this design. An abundance of antique brass gleams on the shoulder strap, but the body is kept clean and simple. It's a more minimalist look than we're used to, but it only adds to the Betty's elegant good looks.

Inside, the Betty is divided into two handy compartments to make organization easy. They're a little slender to be truly practical, but you should find enough room for most things you want to carry.

Alexander Wang bags are always gorgeous, but this is the first I've seen which could easily transition from day to night. It's the kind of basic black purse which would look equally at home with dark denims and a sweater, or a sexy dinner dress.

They say one man's trash is another's treasure, but it's almost certain that the person who donated a Betty Boop purse to a Goodwill store in Kettering didn't realize the rare gem they were giving up.

The jewel-encrusted minaudiere was one of only 2,500 handcrafted by Kathrine Baumann Beverly Hills. The designer is a favorite with stylish celebs including Madonna, Cher, Jennifer Aniston, and Brooke Shields.

"Someone recognized right away that this purse was very unique," said Mari Jo Sellers, marketing/communications specialist for Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley. "We have a process whereby anything deemed valuable or collectable is sent to headquarters and processed there. Most of those items go to shopgoodwill.com but because the purse had a collector’s number on it, we decided to harness the power of eBay."

It's anyone's guess how much this limited edition purse will fetch, as the designer's regular accessories ordinarily cost thousands. If you'd like to add it to your collection though, click here to find it on eBay. But be quick, there's only a little over a week to get your bids in!

It's no surprise that celebrities are the best advertisements for fashion products. Of course, showcasing your items on an A-list star during awards season is easier said than done. Maybe the somewhat easier alternative is getting it on the small screen during primetime.

Elie Tahari has had its share of celebrity party sightings, but it seems to be making it even bigger on television. In recent episodes, more than a handful of Tahari outfits made their TV debut on popular shows like Desperate Housewives and fashion-conscious Ugly Betty.

It's no surprise then that Tahari's Aimee blouse popped up the other day on not one but two more highly-watched shows. Calista Flockhart was seen sporting the yellow top on Brothers & Sisters, and designer diva Blake Lively's character Serena van der Woodsen wore the Aimee blouse on Gossip Girl.

Though I'm sure many faithful fans of Brothers & Sisters noticed and appreciated the pretty top on Flockhart, I have a feeling it was the appearance on the always fashion-forward Gossip Girl that caused the Aimee to fly off Tahari's boutique shelves. After all, the show has been promoting designer clothing and accessories (like the Gucci Hysteria Python and Lady Dior Cannage) with success since the show's inception.

This could be just the beginning of Tahari's television love affair. Keep your eye out for some of their pieces on The Celebrity Apprentice. It's rumored that self-proclaimed fashionistas Joan and Melissa Rivers recently bought a few items from the designer's SoHo boutique for future episodes of the reality show.

Those celebrity guests just keep on coming for Ugly Betty. New York handbag designer Zac Posen is the latest fashion face to step onto the set of the ABC comedy series.

Zac has already filmed his episode, but he's staying mum on exactly what his role will be. It will hopefully be a substantial one though as it required a full day's filming. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some serious interaction with America Ferrera's brace-faced Betty Suarez!

"It all came together rather last minute. I had just canceled my three-day trip to Paris, and they called me to do it. My call time was 9 am, and I stayed all day," Zac told New York Magazine.

Zac joins other Ugly Betty designer guests Vera Wang, Isaac Mizrahi, Kenneth Cole, and Christian Siriano. And let's not forget the appearances of modern style icons Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell, and Adriana Lima. The storylines may have become a bit over the top in recent years, but when it comes to booking the big fashion names, Ugly Betty gets it so right.
